Everybody is yapping about the Aphex Twin remix of Meat Beat Manifesto's
"Mindstream" but what they're failing to mention is the SEVERELY COOL version
of "Original Control" by none other than Dimensional Holophonic Sound.
"Original Control" was probably my favorite track on "Satyricon".

The Orbital mix is way cool n' sunglasses too.

Reviews are forthcoming. I've got a weekend of programming hell to look
forward to right now.

P.S. Also picked up _Daft_ by Art of Noise. Unbelievable staying power. 1983
and these people are still some of the best musicians to ever sit behind a
sampler.

Is "Original Control" (Orbital mix) on single yet?

What would you suggest between the two different "Mindstream" singles?
One has Aphex mix, and GTO (or was it MNO) mix.. the other has
(Psychedelically speaking) and (Stream of Consciousness mix).
I've only heard the APhex remix, and I must say, it's one hell of a track
to mix.. the rhythm is so bizarre! ...anyway, suggestions over net help alot!

It's not a song, it's a UK CD that compiles most of the tracks Art of Noise
released on ZTT Records back in 1983. History, son . . . history.

I haven't heard that Orbital did a remix of "Original Control". When they
looked over Vidar's discography last fall, they only wrote that they had
remixed "Mindstream" and "Edge of No Control".

Not GTO, DHS. I'd personally go for the single with the Aphex & DHS remix.
It is a bit longer, and I think the DHS mix of "Original Control" is the best
mix on either disc. The Orbital disc is good, but why did they throw on
Paradise Now? Haven't we heard this enough? Of course, you may just want to
buy both.

It is an album, not a song.

Yeah! We were raving back in '85 with Art of Noise and Max Headroom on tour!
We just didn't know it!

Yeesh! That'd be like calling Nirvana the Kings of Lite Pop, if you get
my drift. I've never even been within *earshot* of a rave.

But I own just about everything Art of Noise have ever released, so if you
want to worship my record collection, go right ahead. Admission's five
bucks at the door. Enjoy the tasty snacks at our fine concessions stand!
