Seems to me like you're all american. And I'm insanely jealous.

BEGIN gripe:
Perth (....er, thats WA.....Western Australia, yah?) misses out on most big
acts. Actually, judge jules, tiesto, seb fontaine, and the rest seem to
love us. But Eminem, nooo he's far too good to come to Perth. Yes only
Sydney and Melbourne are apparently good enough for that whack ass mutha.
END gripe.

BEGIN brag.
But de la soul said its the best place they've played at. maybe they added
'for a long time' on the end, but i chose not to hear that part. So I'd
like to say a big SUCK ON THIS to sid-ah-neee! Think you're soooo great
with your big old stoopid bridge and stuff. :p
END brag.

Anyway, I'd like eveyone to know that even though we've got like 1 million
people in the entire state, our dance scene kicks ass more than most. Maybe
because we're so desperate for something to do, or maybe its because we
rock. Or not. Most people would say not. but anyway , i digress. what was
the point of this? oh yeah, if you're ever in Australia and sick of the old
brisbane sydney melborune circuit, come to Perth and we'll "show you a
(very) good time"... If there's a rave on with an international dj, of
course. :p

Rachella.

Let me get this straight - you're complaining about not being able to see
Eminem???? Eminem is a 'big act' in the rave scene????

Maybe they added '...tonight' onto that!

Why do you need an international DJ? If your scene truly 'kicks ass more
than most' and you guys do 'rock' then you should surely have some local
talent????

Obviously not...

What Sean said, you don't need international DJ's, most of them are wank! If
the undeground thrives then there isn't a problem!!

Don't be jealous of America, be jealous of Melbourne (or of course London!),
in my experience Melbourne has (or had when I was there) a great scene, I
preferred it to the LA scene..

Have to say mate, Perth really is dead isn't it!

I cannot emphasise the above comments enough. All the big names (with the
exception of Jeff Mills) at Two Tribes were boring in comparison to those
people who played early in the night. International's who generally come
down often don't give a fuck about keeping the crowd interested. The
smaller acts often really get the crowd going.

Sydney doesn't have as good a vibe as Melbourne. Plus Melbourne have their
own unique dancing style, the Melbourne shuffle. The only cool way to dance
to Hard Kandy Trance ;-)

> Have to say mate, Perth really is dead isn't it!

Never been there. Never even ventured in the state.

Dunno 'bout that. We have our moments.

I just thought it was funny-looking. More interesting than the 'Sydney
Scissor' though.

Not all of us. Some of us come from 'sid-ah-neee'.

You weren't really looking forward to seeing The Real Slim Shady ... were
you?

Nah, we'd be this great even without the Coathanger. Or the Opera House for
that matter. It's just the way we are. We rock.

Uh-huh. You gonna give any specific comparisons?

Yeah, they would. And most people would say that *Sydney* rocks, so a big
"Nyah-nyah!" to you.

*ahem* You neglect to inform everyone that Perth is on the WEST coast of
Australia, and that it's a whole CONTINENT away from the MelSydBris
coastline - a helluva hike just to see an 'international dj' who's probably
gonna play in Sydney, anywayz. =P

Of course, if you had any kind of quality *local* talent ...

- Charlie
(who refers to Perth as the 'navel' of Australia, but only because
Tasmania's already claimed the title of 'anus')

Sydney wasn't bad, it was just that Melbourne was better!

Yeah, I thought it was funny looking as well, I remember one night I was
just dancing how we do in London, and i was probably the only one who wasn't
doing the Melbourne shuffle. I like to think I helped a few people break out
of the trap that is the melbourne shuffle that night! ;)

The good thing about the melbourne shuffle is that is easy to do and doesn't
take much effort. Every now and then I throw a little in, either when I get
tired or when the beats are just way too fast.

You *may* be right, but fact is, Melbourne doesn't have much to offer for a
hardcore junky like me. Sure there's some sorta embryonic scene down there
but I got spoilt in Sydney.
