Seidel Funeral to be Held Memorial Day, Phelps & WBC Expected to be Present

The funeral for Emmitsburg soldier Lt. Robert A. Seidel III will be held at
11 a.m. Memorial Day at The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Basilica in
Emmitsburg, 333 South Seton Ave.
Seidel was a 23-year-old soldier who grew up in Emmitsburg and died in Iraq
on May 18. Seidel died with three other soldiers when a bomb detonated near
their vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad, according to the U.S.
Department of Defense.

Seidel was a rifle platoon leader with the 2nd Battalion in the 22nd
Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division, out of Fort Drum, N.Y.

Seidel's family moved from Emmitsburg to Gettysburg, Pa., about three years
ago, his brother, Stephen Seidel, said.

Seidel was a 2000 graduate of Catoctin High School, and graduated from West
Point in 2004.

It's on Fred Phelps picket list, according to the <gag> WBC website.

The Patriot Guard, the motorcycle group that organized the barricade at St.
John's in Westminister, MD, is expected to be there too, along with a local
contingent of Veterans bikers. Emmitsburg is a *very* strongly patriotic
area, was occupied by Union forces during the Civil War. This small town is
right across the Mason-Dixon from Gettysburg, MD. The Seidel family is very
well known, students at the National Fire Academy, and Vigilant Hose Company
firefighters will probably also be lending their assistance to shielding
mourners from the whacko's of Westboro Baptist, as the Fire Academy is
closed that day. At any rate, Phelps, et al., will be limited to the South
Seton Ave sidewalk, and not near the Basilica itself. The Basilica is
expected to be filled to capacity.

I have so had it with WBC :-|| , that I plan to personally bombard his
email box with messages during the funeral, since it will not be possible
for me to attend. I would love to see large numbers of people emailing
protest letters to Phelps during such funerals. What if people from all over
sent emails to WBC every time one of these events occurs. Since he so
brazenly announces where the WBC members will be going, why not take that
information and use it to organize a counter-protest, via email. Wonder if
his servers can handle that sudden surge of email? <eg> Why do I feel just
