There's a song that starts "I was standing on a corner" or "I was sitting at
the bar" or something to that effect. We think it may be entitled "Daddy's
Little Girl" PLEASE... PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! It's causeing serious mental agony!

Sincerely,
Chuck

"If God isn't real, then there is no good or bad, because there
is noone to give us an ultimate definition of what that is,
and then you must explain to your children that Osama Bin Laden is
no better or worse person than George Washington."

Kool Moe Dee - Go See The Doctor ("I was walking down the street")
LL Cool J - Big Ole Butt ("I was at the mall")

Failing that, there WAS a song by early 90's Def Jam artist Nikki D
called "Daddy's Little Girl", but it doesn't have anything like these
lines in it...

"A to the L owns all your stankin asses. Man can rap his ass off. The rest are scrubs." - Fatboy Roberts
"...let's just say that I think that A to the L is an artist because of his ability to quantify different SHITS into words. That's art." - Alvin Smith

Someone helped me out and I'm forever grateful to them! This is what they told
me:

'Lyrically, you have merged two songs together. In circa 1987 an
artist named Suzanne Vega had a dope hit called "Tom's Diner." That
song opens with the lyric "I am sitting in the morning at the diner on
the corner, I am waiting at the counter," etc. Then in circa 1991, a
female rapper named Nikki-D heavily used the "Tom's Diner" sample in
her hit called "Daddy's Little Girl" which is a coming-of-age piece
about a girl trying to escape the parental control of her father when
she unexpectedly becomes pregnant.

Many DJ's, including myself, often mixed the two hit songs together
which may account for your "merger" of the lyrics.

Peace,
J.'

THANK YOU J.!!! Now I can rest in peace...
