he probably got the lyrics confused from another 'Stones song that goes:
"Hey! (Hey!) You! (You!) Get off of my back!"
(Hey!) and (You!) are background vocal echoes.
now that I think about it, it DOES sound strikingly similar to 'methodman.'
and no, I don't think the stones or wu-tang are fans of either's music.

Actually, there is in fact a Rollins Stones song that goes "Hey, you, get
off of my cloud." I'm not their biggest fan, so i couldn't tell you the
exact name, but it does exist...

It's always possible that the Wu-Tang listen to the Stones. People who
create rap music almost always have diverse musical tastes. It's also
possible that they got the line from Bootsy Collins' "Jungle Bass."

Naah, I think the Method Man is another one of those MCs who can pick and
choose from pop culture and toss it into his lyrics... witness the 'chim
chimment chim chim cherie' line for example, and 'patty cake, patty cake'
also :)

Nope, you've got it all wrong: the Rolling Stones DO have a song called "Get
Off My Cloud" and the chorus goes like this:

Hey! (Hey!) You! (You!) Get off of my cloud (repeated 4 times)
Don't hang around boy, 'cos two is a crowd on my cloud

I don't know about the Wu-tang song, never heard it properly, but hey, is it
impossible that they weren't Stones fans? I mean, at least in my record shelf
Rolling Stones and rap get along perfectly and I like both of them.

peace however

Not only that, but the "M-E-T-H-O-D-M-A-N" is _very_ similar to Darryl
Hall and John Oates' "Method of Modern Love".
