His first album was kinda aight, even if X contradicted himself on every
song. (ex. He talks about killing on every song, then says "Never will I
kill/death is wrong/so I'ma keep holding on/til what's left is gone")
The reason it was okay was because I didn't have to skip tracks to the next
song- the whole album just flowed. True, it was all about violence and thug
shit, subjects that have been done til death.
But, I mean, if you're looking for substance, you shouldn't be buying X's
albums in the first place. If that's the case, you should wait for Nas' shit
to come out.

If you are trying to find a good rap album without violence and "thug
shit" you are going to be looking for a hell of long time. DMX's new
album has about 4 good songs but i still have faith in him.

X's first album was da shit but then he kinda fucked up on his new one. I only
liked a few of the cuts and many were to boring. A lot sounded like "Let Me
Fly" over and over again. Something about that god shit this nigga likes. I
still think this nigga is tha muthafucka of the 90's though, so watch ya fuckin
back you haters. go suck a dick mufuckaz.

oh yeah, your right his skills are way passed those of Rakim, Tupac, Biggie,
Balck Thought, Guru, the early ice cube, these all look like lyrical bafoons
compared to DMX and his break though rhymes like All I feel is rain, how can
i maintain, with mad shit on my brain.

If your lookin for a good album without alot of the thug stuff I recomend a
few......Gangstarr "Moment of Truth"......Outkast "Aquemini".......Goodie Mob
"Still Standing"......Pete Rock "Soul Survivor"

I agree cuase Pete Rock's and Gangstarr's album's that you mentioned are tight
as fuck. I love the Goodie and 'Kast albmus to but I ain't down with the south
like a cold mutha. I love the cut "Da Art Of Storytellin' 2". Sumthin' about
that shit makes me say, "My Fuckin' God!".

The only problem is that there isnt enough *good* rappers left.. It was better
back in the late eighties when rap like Public Enemy Gangstarr and Pete Rock
were new to the scene. Then came the birth of No Limit and other garbage and
changed rap around.

Word is Bond like the Brand Nubian. There is a statement that talent
wins out in the end but talented Rappers R In Danja ala KRS-One. I used
to buy 7-10 cds a month and 20 pieces of vinyl. I appreciate and can't
hate the brother Master P's business acumen, but when a dude can get on
the mic and say uhhh and sound as if he needs to take his medicine for
those epileptic seizures, something is wrong. That whole label needs to
be eradicated from the hip hop ranks. They ain't hippin they just
hoppin. Puff Daddy, Foxy "No where near as beautiful as the real one"
Brown, and Wyclef are making sure that the 80's music they sample all of
the time will keep ringing in our ears. On the other hand, Rawkus cannot
put out a wack act. Every thing they put out is str8 butta baby! I
stick to the pioneers cause most of the time you never get burned
although, Das Efx album was a complete waste of time and money.

Peace and Love to Real Hip Hop Phanatiks!

finally someone who thinks like me. I think DMX's new album wasn't that
great, but what is to come is going to make him great.

I was not feeling DMX's album. It was so hyped up by the radio stations
and the media. I returned and got Busta Rhyme's album

Yeah, I kind of liked his first one, but he's generally pretty
over-rated... I'm personally waiting for someone to pick it up, or for
a chance to get it used for around $5... No way in hell I'm going to
shell out the money for it new... The new Busta Rhymes album is a big
favorite of mine for that matter also, even though it hasn't received
all that much discussion about it on the newsgroup...
