Yeah..I hate to admit it but I never heard of them till I went to jail.
But I've noticed A lot of bookstores carry Goines & Slim in their little
"Black" sections. Funny how they think these 70's black exploitation books
represent our literary contribution! Thanks for the heads-up on the other
authors & if you want to read some Donald Goines at his best (worst?)
check out "Whoreson".

I've read the swamp man by Donald Goines and I loved it. Iceberg slim
is phat also. I read airtight willie and me, and I'm in the middle of
reading pimp. Lot's of action. I didn't realize urban areas were that
messed up going back to the 30's and stuff. It's like the older
genearation is fronting on how peaceful shit was.

True, I mean the ghetto has always been a potentially violent place and
these old dudes who are always downgrading todays young-uns were probably
downgraded when they were young-uns for being too violent.

I have all(?) Iceberg Slim's novels, Pimp, Mama Black Widow, Trick Baby,
Airtight Willie and Me, Death Wish, Long White Con, and The Naked Soul of
Iceberg Slim...

Are there any others? I know he came out with an lp, called Soul on Ice,
which has recently been rereleased - I haven't found it yet.. anyone??

As for Goines, I have all(?) 16(?) I'm not listing them.. anyone(?) know
of any more or anything else regarding this author??

Talking of books, did anyone read "Malcolm" by Bruce Perry - I prefered
this to the autobiography.

Excuse my ignorance please but mama always told me a closed mouth don't
get fed... (mama is deep). What is an "IB extended essay"? And why do you
put ? marks in the middle of sentences? I'm not trying to clown I'm just
curious....Also I'll check for "Malcolm" by Bruce Perry although The Alex
Haley joint will be tough to beat....
