Indeed, a marketing director might suggest it as a name for an East
Asian rapper.
However, I note that Chinese, Japanese, and Korean have no -mp sound,
and I suspect never had. Plenty of -m, -p, but no -mp.
So any East Asian relationship would have to be with a more southerly
language, if any.
i think you've got the same problem with south east asian
languages...you'd get the -mp sound if the next word began with a
vowel or a p...if it was lump um or lump pum for example...but then it
wouldn't make sense and you'd lose the dollar sign which makes the
whole thing work in the first place....i think you have to settle for
lum $um
