This station, called "Mount Hope" would have been a small stop located
at Blakemore Street Bridge (present bridge 222.82) approximately 1
mile south (west by RR terms) of Forest Hills Station (junction) in
the Roslindale section of Boston, Massachusetts.
Also any press items on it. It would have been demolished sometime
during World War II to be replaced only by a foul weather enclosure.
Similarly any images, press pix, or sketches of the former Boston Coal
and Ice Company that was located in about the same area. This would
have been a large wooden coal sifting/grading operation adjacent to
the railroad which received frequent freight deliveries of coal which
was, from there, delivered to homes for heating and stoves.
Also interested in any pointers to people or web sites where I may ask
the question.
A developer of that site is looking for materials from which to draw
to create a lobby display of "what used to be here."
Any info or suggestions will be welcome.
Thanks

Try one of the largest (if not *the* largest) railroad photo dealers,
Bob Liljestrand at his new location at:
Bob's Photos
PO Box 209
Farmers KY 40319
He has a boat load of New Haven pictures, and there's a lot of station
buildings in his collection. Bob does a lot of train shows on the East
Coast, and he's always at the Springfield (MA) show at the Big E in January
with everything he has. He may be at the NMRA Hub Div. show this December
(it's a good size show).
You can also try the Storrs, CT UCONN Thomas J. Dodd Research Center at:
http://railroads.uconn.edu/ The NH sent all their corporate records to
UCONN back in the day, and since then, private individuals and historical
organizations have been donating their collections, too. As a result, UCONN
has a lot of New Haven RR pictures, maps, and drawings in addition to their
corporate paperwork.
You might also want to check out the New Haven Railroad Historical &
Technical Association's website and NH Forum at: www.nhrhta.org Also, look
for their magazine called the "Shoreliner", specifically Volume 24 Issue 1
Page 39. According to my index, there should be a photo of Mount Hope
Station on that page. I don't know if the photo is going to be helpful or
not, but it is listed (and the issue is still available).
I would also recommend the Mass. Archives as they may have something
(not that I hold out much hope). They are over near the JFK Library (off
the Red Line's JFK/UMASS stop).
Another idea may be to search for Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps from the
era. You can try the Library of Congress, or asking at the Boston Public
Library. There may be website locations, too (that is rare).
Hope this has proven helpful.

Thanks Paul.
I did get in touch with Gary LaPointe who has been very helpful thus
far.
We seem to have tracked down the station history and a couple of
photos already but any additional data will be helpful as well.
Thanks much for these leads.

384. Contradiction is a bad sign of truth; several things which are certain
are contradicted; several things which are false pass without contradiction.
Contradiction is not a sign of falsity, nor the want of contradiction a sign
of truth.
385. Scepticism.--Each thing here is partly true and partly false. Essential
truth is not so; it is altogether pure and altogether true. This mixture
dishonours and annihilates it. Nothing is purely true, and thus nothing is
true, meaning by that pure truth. You will say it is true that homicide is
wrong. Yes; for we know well the wrong and the false. But what will you say
is good? Chastity? I say no; for the world would come to an end. Marriage?
No; continence is better. Not to kill? No; for lawlessness would be
horrible, and the wicked would kill all the
