Hi Folks,

Would anyone be able to give me an email address for AMTRAK inquiries?

I've tried their web "contact us" but always get an error after clicking
SEND.

Thanks,
TW

I believe their help desk email is:

weca...@amtrak.com.

Information about onboard accomodation.

My mother is visting the US in September and has had a hip replacement. She
climbs stairs with a little difficulty and I wanted to know about the stairs
in the Superliner sleepers (how many, how steep etc) to reach the top deck.

Perhaps their website doesn't like the Aussie IP address? (although the
website allows input of most countries in the address area)

My wife had a knee replaced in August and has been doing pretty well. We
rode the Coast Starlight from Portland, OR to San Jose, CA (and returned a
few days later) and she had no real problems. The steps (probably about
eight of them) were moderately steep and she found descending was tougher
that climbing them (she finds the same thing in our split level home, too!).

The cars we rode had sleeping accommodations on the first level as well as
the second although the view wasn't nearly as good. The viewing place on
the Coast Starlight is, of course, the "parlor car".

Good luck and enjoy the trip!
