What is the purpose of this immaturity? How would you like it if someone
posted and distributed personal and private information about you?
It's time for you to start doing something productive and worthwhile with
your time and you life. I hope Leary sees this post, finds out who you are,
and takes you to court and sues you.

This information looks boring. What is the net cop upset about?
Really?
I think that it may be inappropriate, possibly unprofessional, but well
within the first ammendment rights of Beame to publish the information.
I do not defend Beame's actions, which are deplorable and may get in to
the hands of a trade unionist or some other such criminal. I am just
noting the fact that he is well within his constitutional rights to
restate non-personal and private information, determined such since it
can be accessed by the general public, in this fourm.
> You have no legitimate reason or right to post this personal and
> private information.
There may be no reason, but the information can be obtained by anyone
with a telephone directory. This Leary chap was stupid enough to list
himself in the telephone directory, something which he may regret if he
winds up getting telephone calls or letters from trade unionists and the
like.

Well, that happened to you, didn't it Nik?
However, you were the one who put it out for public consumption in the
first place, just like this Leary chap. If you want information to
remain private, do not publish it in any way shape or form.
The Beame information is not private, but can be accessed by anyone who
has access to a current Philadelphia telephone directory or one of the
on-line telephone directory services provided by NYNEX, Yahoo!, etc.

Is it illegal to publish information that is easily avaliable to anyone
who can read a telephone directory or make a telephone call? If one was
to call 411 in Philadelphia and ask for the telephone number and address
of this Leary chap, would the telephone company be able to be sued?
Methinks not on both counts.
The fact of the matter is that this Leary chap was stupid enough to have
a listed home telephone number. Doesn't he know any better? Methinks
not.

How about posting your home and business information, and we let you
find out?

The probability of someone watching you is directly
proportional to the stupidity of your actions....
I think that this David Beame person did this before, a few months ago.
If memory serves, methinks that it was revealed that the information was
something that could be obtained from the telephone book. So if this
Leary chap is stupid enough to list himself in the telephone book he
should pay the consequences. As the old slogan for the phone book said,
"If it is out there, it is in here." This David Beame person, who's
actions I do not condone, simply posted something out of the telephone
directory that has a tangential relation to transit, albeit not in New
York. Perhaps, this Beame fellow is a trade unionist agitator. I recall
reading something in The Times about a bit of a labour row down there.
Given the postings he/she/it made in rec.arts.theatre.musicals about the
bloody god awful show “Cats,” I would not be surprised if Beame was a
disgruntled employee (former or current) for the TA down there.

Thought for the day:
What message does it send when the voice of the phone company is also
the voice of Darth Vader?
Well, a few months ago this guy was engaged in a flame war.
He identiity was revealed and through various old usenet posts, his
resume, complete with home address and telepone number, was posted and
was shown that he was someone who sought non-traditional activities of
an adult nature. All of the information was found in sources available
for public consumption (i.e. Dejanews) from things that he posted
himself. It was a case of bad judgement coming back to haunt him.
Please also note, that at the time of the original “David Beame”
postings a few months ago some evidence, gleaned via private e-mails
from various parties, was presented to me that linked this “David Beame”
to Nik Sizgorich (a.k.a. prep...@mindspring.com), however the evidence
may be dubious and misleading. To this date the identity of “David
Beame” is unknown. The really odd thing is that former mayor Abe Beame's
middle name was David. Coincidence?

You are correct, sir.... (Ed McMahon - Carson's sidekick and Philly guy) =)
He also posted some sensitive numbers which the public should not have access
to...

No, I think he's just bored....

That it could be worse... the voice of the phone company could have been
Mickey Mouse.... =)

What I'm beginning to wonder is why so many otherwise sane people like
yourself are bothering to respond to him via this newsgroup instead of
doing something like alerting his ISP.
Or maybe you've done that as well, in which case I offer sincere apologies
for a mistaken assumption.

James Earl Jones and Maurice Sendak, together for the first time. "Wild
things are happening," indeed.
Jason, look on the bright side: at least nobody confuses your phone company
with a sleeping pill any more! Plus, the new corporate logo is a lot
cooler than the old one. *Either* of the old ones.

Just a cotton picking minute, are you comparing union members to
criminals? Please clarify so I know whether or not to get the torches
and gasoline ready for you. And clarify the right way .
Regardless of whether the information could be obtained elsewhere or
not, this Beame guy is a warped jackass for posting it and the other
crap he posts to the group, surely you realize that.
Plus the fact that this moron is cross posting to groups that don't
give a hoot about Septa. The guy has a grudge and is doing it
maliciously.
I actually liked you prepster!
Dammit, now you are on my shit list!
David
Dammit, I found information in public.
Is printing it again a crime?
You obtuse ass hole does not see the impotent public service I provide,
dammit!
What is this dammit!
You mock me, dammit!
I hate you, you are just like the rest!
No. I was just mentioning the fact that the information could be used
for criminal reasons.

I hope this makes things clear.

Yes, but the information is not private. In light of his other posts, he
is a "warped jackass for posting it."

Yes, he is a moron and he obviously has a grudge.
Given these facts, he is most likely a former or current employee there,
since they are not very professional, like the fine upstanding men and
women of MTA New York City Transit.

Ok that's better.......... Hey!! Wait a minute!! Sniff...... Sniff....
That smells like sarcasm!!!!!.... Yep, it most definitely
was....Thought you'd sneak that by huh? Why..I oughtta tweak your nose
for that wise guy.. 8')
Actually the comment about the TA is not sarcastic in any way.
The TA has some of the best employees working for any transportation
agency in the world, and yes they are professionals.
