derived from the International Radio ?Union)
2. Vocoder type
3. Band/Frequency
4. Encryption type
5. Manufacturer
6. Simplex versus duplex versus triplex versus multiplex (shall this
apply to the ability for several people to talk at the same time on the
same system, or shall it apply to the use of multi freqs per channel, or
shall it apply to the capabiity of the radio to receive and transmit at
the same time?)
What I am gettin at is - the terms digital radio, analog radio, ?analog
trunking, simplex, duplex, digital trunking, DES, DVP, scrambling,
MP1327, EDACS, ASTRO, etc are open to many interpretations and/or
describe various aspects of new radios and radio systems. I think that
it would be a good idea to develop a standardized way to report this
info in order to cut down on confusion and perhaps to clarify the
workings of these new systems.
