Excellent signals, busy airspace and sometimes very intersting and
unusual flights make the african airspace, in my opinion, the world's most
intersting airspace.
Just take in account that at the time I made the log (for only 30
minutes, between 0054 and 0124 UTC) only 2 frequencies were being used to
communicate with flights in an area of at least 60% of the continent. More
than 20 flights were giving position reports.
These frequencies were:
8903: Kinshasa, Libreville, Luanda and NDjamena Centers.
8894: Niamey and Algiers Centers.
Both with 5/9 signals in Europe from all Centers (specially Niamey
and Kinshasa Centers).

Note: the circles around each flight represent the minimum
horizontal distance between aircrafts and it's objective is to monitor
near misses in real-time.
At this hour, almost all the fligths were routing from South
Africa to Europe but at about 23:00 UTC there are many african regional
flights (B737 from Cameroon, TAAG, etc and a lot of old B727).
Also there is another freq that is very busy too, working the east
part of the continent: 5517 (Cairo, Tripoli, Khartoum, Addis and Nairobi
Centers).
