Thousands of station records can be stored
and sorted through, just type in a few letters or a complete
description and the receiver finds the stations of interest to you.
Never before has such a powerful system been made available, until
now it had been necessary to use a p.c. to provide database
facilities, which is often not practical because of lack of
portability and problems of interference.
It can tune in apparently continuous 5Hz
increments, or step sizes up to 10 MHz, even 9KHz is included for
broadcast bands. The user can select either the default tuning step
size, for example 5 Hz for s.s.b. modes or a range of larger
increments up to 50 kHz. Tuning increments increase automatically
with rotation speed and pressing SHIFT gives a further x 10
increase.
Database upgrades</FONT></B><FONT COLOR="#D9D7FF">
can be obtained from Fairhaven in the form of computer disks which
can be loaded via a p.c. We will also be making databases available
on our Internet site and we can offer a programming service to
callers or by mail order. We also hope to arrange our web site so
that users can leave databases for others. Furthermore, users can
search the Internet for information and compile their own databases,
(we know of at least one 10,000 entry.
The hf,vhf, uhf version of this radio is amazing,I have had scanners for
20 years, this is the best yet.
If you want to know more contact fairhaven at

HEY !!! thanks a lot Vincent for snipping the URL - seeing I missed the
original message - what was it - that is, if, as a member of the USENET
police you don't mind giving it again ??
