AOR has been grinding its teeth for years trying to cram tanks into these tiny
enclosures. I've tried the very user-unfriendly 8000 and the poor-looking 8200.
They sure pack a lot of bells but don't come close to fulfulling the primary
purpose: receiving all that one general coverage portable receiver is designed
to do.
In my opinion, Yupiteru does just that, without the fanfare.
Am I sold to the "Yupi" ideal or what!

Having had the Yuppie 9000M3 from http://www.bander.com
i have to say that this one is even better.
Ditch the deaf ducky and use the telescopic one that comes with the 7100.
If you order the 9000 most will throw in the 7100 aerial if you explain the
deafness.
This turns an average radio into a super duper one.
In the SI of NZ I have heard an AIR NZ jumbo 200KM out of Hawiai on a longwire
on 8.867 USB
All other bands are as good.
Yes, I would agree with your comments. Had mine for about a year but got
very fed up of it due to the reasons above but mainly due to the very
poor battery life and lack of sensitivity. Traded it in with Nevada who
gave me a fair price and now I have the Yupiteru MVT-9000 MK II - what a
difference! Even the audio quality is miles ahead and sensitivity is
great, but not with the standard rubber duck! - it's naff!
Cheers
Simon.

Sorry to say I've missed most of this thread due to holiday.
I'm thinking of getting an AOR8200 for the 'computer' side of things.
I love my Yupi 7100 but it can't computer interface with my Scout :-((
Does anyone have anything good to say about the 8200?
I was hoping to pick up an Series 1 8200 at a good price with the
introduction of the Series 2 ........

Dougie.
