1. THE CURRENT:
Today on The Current…Alberta's Environment Minister Rob Renner joins
host Anna Maria Tremonti to talk climate policy. The conversation
comes just days ahead of Renner’s plans to lead a delegation at the UN
Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen. Since 1990, his province has
accounted for half of the 30 per cent increase in Canada's greenhouse
gas emissions. And the Alberta oil sands are both the single biggest
-- and fastest growing -- source of greenhouse gas emissions in this
country. But Renner insists that Alberta is showing real leadership on
climate change. This morning, he’ll explain how he’s taking that

This morning on Q…wrestling superstar Hulk Hogan joins host Jian
Ghomeshi for a revealing and candid interview. With his 24-inch
bulging biceps, blonde hair and handlebar moustache…Hogan is one of
the world's most recognizable celebrities. But his new memoir My Life
Outside the Ring reveals the private side of the champion wrestler and
TV personality. On today’s program, Hogan talks about that memoir…and
what it was like to share stories about his childhood, his wrestling
career, and steroid abuse. He’ll also discuss the past two years…a
period that he describes as "the most difficult match of his life."

3. DISPATCHES:
This week on Dispatches…contributor Nick Davis explores one of the few
remaining remnants of African culture in Jamaican society. It’s
called Kumina, and its religious rituals of sacrifice, drumming, dance
and possession have long been rejected by many of the island's
Christians. But as Davis finds out…Kumina is being embraced by the
state as part of its slave-era heritage. Learn more about Kumina and
how it's influencing one of Jamaica's biggest exports - reggae - this

This evening IDEAS prepares for a special CBC Radio presentation of

4. A QUARTETTE CHRISTMAS
The group Quartette is made up of four of Canada's finest singer/
songwriters ... Sylvia Tyson, Cindy Church, Caitlin Hanford and Gwen
Swick. Their rich harmonies, good humour and love for the music
guarantees a concert to remember. This Christmas concert combines old
favourites and new collaborations between the members with musical
influences ranging from jazz, blues, country, gospel and pop. That’s
on Radio One at 10:00 p.m. (10:30 NT).
5. Elektra - Chez Nous!
Canadians have a variety of traditions at this time of year, and the
most common one - entertaining. Whether its family, friends or
coworkers…we invite people into our homes for the holiday season. For
years, Elektra Women's Choir has espoused that tradition --
metaphorically speaking -- with their annual Chez Nous! concerts.
It’s an Open House that shines with a smorgasbord of melodies heard
around the Christmas season. This year, they’re joined by musical
friends including the Zing! Children's Choir, guitarist and composer
Edward Henderson, bassist Jodi Proznick, and pianists Bramwell Tovey
and Ya Wen Wang. Also on this festive bill are pianist, organist and
composer Stephen Smith with conductors Morna Edmundson and Lisa
