This afternoon, Living Out Loud is on a musical mission. Pretty well
everyone has crafted a rhythm…whether they realize it or not. It can
be tapping a pencil on your desk to build a beat…or blowing across the
neck of a bottle to make a flute-like sound. Today's show pays tribute
to making music with found objects - from pens and paper to fridges
and freezers…there's even garden hosepipe version of Mozart's horn
concerto!

early experiences can affect our health later on in life. She'll

research during the '50s and '60s formed a milestone in the nature/
nurture debate by tipping the balance toward nurture. The debate has
since raged on…and with the advent of the human genome project, the
balance has shifted closer to nature. Tonight's program hears from
Michael Meaney, Steve Suomi and Tom Boyce - three scientists who say
that the debate has become obsolete. They'll join Eisen to explain
their belief that BOTH nature and nurture interact to shape our early
years.
