1. WHITE COAT, BLACK ART:

This week on White Coat, Black Art… everyone gets embarrassed by
something - sometime. But when it comes to health, do people easily
drum up the courage to confess their shameful or mortifying
conditions? Or does the prospect of an awkward appointment stop them
from getting help? Host Dr. Brian Goldman talks to psychiatrist Sue
Abbey and family doctor Sheila Wijayasinghe about what they notice
patients frequently hold back from them.

Examining the unmentionables…on White Coat, Black Art with Dr. Brian
Goldman...Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (10:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

2. GO!:

Ever wonder how GO! host Brent Bambury comes up with fresh ideas for
the show? He turns to his artistic inspiration of course - The Wheel
of GO! So this week, he'll spin away and let fate be his guide
through the program. Then, Kate Rogers Band delivers a special set of
the indie-folk sounds.

3. QUIRKS & QUARKS:

This week on Quirks & Quarks…a look at the upcoming UN Climate Change
Conference, scheduled for early December in Copenhagen, Denmark. As
the enviro-summit approaches…it's looking less and less likely that
the participants will reach a new international accord to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions. And the recent meeting between the
presidents of the United States and China didn't bring that agreement
any closer. Dr. Tim Flannery - one of the world's leading climate
specialists - will join the program to explain why the consequences of
failure in the Danish capital would be disastrous for the world.

It's a countdown to Copenhagen…on Quirks & Quarks, with host Bob
McDonald… Saturday at 12noon (12:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

4. THE DEBATERS:

Saturday on The Debaters…it's a face-off over child consumerism.
Despite the financial downturn, youngsters across the country are
doing their part to improve the economy. They pester their parents to
buy all sorts of toys…and who's to blame for this annoying behaviour?
Oh, the advertisers of course! This week, funny gal Jennifer Robertson
does her best to sell writer/comedian George Westerholm on the concept
that marketing to kids is just plain wrong. Later on this shopping-
themed double bill, comic Steve Levine and "That Canadian Guy" Glen
Foster go toe-to-toe on whether the environmentally unfriendly plastic
bag takes the prize for the worst invention of all time.

Shopping has become a lot more complicated… so why not take a break
from stimulating the economy to tune into The Debaters…Saturday at
1:00 p.m. (1:30 NT) on CBC Radio One.

5. WIRETAP:

This week, WireTap finds out if robots are the future. Howard

Afterlives.

Pietropaolo explores the romantic entanglements in William
Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Fairy queen Tytania falls

popular tale of love and jests. Celebrated British composer is one
of many who've paid tribute to the Bard…and Saturday's presentation of
his operatic setting presents new music for the characters and spells
with which Shakespeare charmed audiences. It's a fantastic and
successful staging by Canadian director Robert Carsen, which was
performed in Milan earlier this year. Conducted by Sir Andrew Davis…
the production also features an international cast. American
countertenor David Daniels plays the scheming Fairy King, Oberon and
British soprano Rosemary Joshua is Tytania.

Midsummer Night's Dream…on Saturday Afternoon at the Opera, with guest
host Paolo Pietropaolo. Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (2 AT, 2:30 NT) on CBC
