Does anyone know if any FM Radio Stations in the US did pick up Miami Vice
for simulcast as described in this NYT article?

Let me share a little success of ours

Hey! So me and my friends created a small radio station during a music
festival. The festival was a five day long smaller event, with cca 3k
campers and 20k visitors. We set our studio up in an old wooden cabin. We
used a small Behringer X-Air mixer for our microphones, a Soundcraft UI as
a Sound card. RadioDJ for our music, automation ad scheduling. The studio
setup had 4 microphones, but we usually only had 3 people talking at most.
We created two Icecast2 streams, one was on a local network, which carried
a higher quality stream to our FM transmitter, which was mounted up pretty
high in the camping area. We broadcasted on about 5W, to cover the entire
area of the festival. The antenna was boult by our friends at the amateur
radio club at the Budapest University of Engineering. The other stream
handled external online listeners.
And what did we broadcast? A lot of music, of course. Short vox populi
interviews, programme recommendations, short interviews with some of the
featured artist, who were also kind enough to record Station IDs for us.
All in all, a fantastic experience, I would recommed everyone, whos
thinking about doing something similar to try it. With the internet, its
really not that hard do put together a system that gives u a decent quality
broadcast. submitted by /u/t0m4t00

I’m about to start voice tracking from home and have been researching gear.
Mic, mixer, etc. Any recommendations? Preferably somewhat budget
friendly. submitted by /u/plantslayer_

Will upgrading antenna make my transmitter illegal?

Hey everyone, I have a small Chinese FM transmitter, I think its 100mw, it
is exactly what the FCC says is typically legal, but I know they dont
measure that way. I dont know a lot about any of this, the FM transmitter
is not at all a large part of my hobby. If I remember right it has to be
under a certain power at a certain distance from the antenna. Right now I
just have a short piece of wire as a 1/4 wave antenna. I want the
transmitter to go further, if I upgrade to a home made dipole (one of the
ones made with PVC pipe) will it still be legal or is there a decent chance
I would go over the limit? Thanks! submitted by /u/Randomaker1
