Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.
--Sam Keen, _To Love and Be Loved_

Lie down and listen to the crabgrass grow
The faucet leak, and learn to leave them so.
--Marya Mannes (1904- )
_But Will it Sell_ [1955-1964]

Languor is underrated. Bone-lazy idleness, hours
spent staring at the sky and remembering books and
birthdays and great kisses; this is a pure pleasure
that eludes the productive in all their confident
superiority. Languor is sunny and hot. It is at
home near the sea and is best appreciated in
environments of beauty and limited promise.
Fishing, for instance. But if you're always reeling
in and checking your bait, you'll only worsen your
chances. Relax.

The taxman's taken all my dough,
And left me in my stately home,
Lazin' on a sunny afternoon.
And I can't sail my yacht,
He's taken everything I've got,
All I've got's this sunny afternoon.
