I distinctly remember hearing that line from a movie or television show, but
cannot for the life of me place the source. Please alleviate my suffering.

Nobody on his deathbed ever said,
"I wish I had spent more time at the office."

_Roots_, by Alex Haley. You're probably thinking of the mini-series, but
something similar also appears in the novel.
Kunta Kinte was an African slave in America. As was the custom, his owner
gave him an American name, "Toby", but Kunta was intent on keeping his original
name. The scene from the mini-series, as I remember it, has Kunta (played by
LeVar Burton) lashed to a pole, being whipped into submission. The slaveowner
hollers out to Kunta, "What's yer name, boy?" He answers slowly, exhausted and
in pain, "Kunta.....Kunta Kinte...." The slaveowner screams "No!", and begins
whipping Kunta again, adding, "Your name is Toby!"

How about some quotes from _Roots_? I read the novel a few years before I
began collecting quotes, so unfortunately I can't offer any myself.
