Anyone know any good one-line quotes about history repeating
itself? I already know about the George Santayana one but
something else along those lines would be great. Thanks in
advance.

Karl Marx, in 'The 18th Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte'. The book begins:

'Hegel has remarked somewhere that history repeats itself. He forgot,
however, to mention: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce'.

I am quoting from memory, and translating from the German but, as they say
frequently here, 'you could look it up'.

with history.

The one thing that does not change is that at any and every
time it appears that there have been 'great changes'.

They that say the world grows worse and worse are very much
mistaken, for Adam who had but one commandment to keep broke that, and
Cain slew his brother Abel when there was but two of them to share the
whole world.
