I'm interested in getting into pyrotechnics...how do you start?? Is there a
course to take?? I've already talked to someone, and he said you just
start, but I think that's unlikely...I can't imagine anyone walking in and
bying explosives!!! Any info would help. Thanx.

Woah, hold on just a minute. Pyrotechnics is not explosives by far. It
is true that some explosive materials are used for salutes, but
pyrotechnics is the art of fire, and fireworks, not KeWl BoMbS. I you
think pyro is about explosives the n you are in the wrong news group. If
you are really into fireworks, then you've come to the right place.
Start with some books, such as Introductory to practical pyrotechnics.
Then read this and rec.pyrotechnics a lot. Then before you decide to try
your first project, post to the group and see what people think. They
could probably give you a lot of tips which would make your first
project a success.

Im not a big time pyro yet nor am i profressinal but I would suggest getting info on the net maybe a book or two ( Try www.firefox-fx.com for some good info on books)
and you could play around with roman candles like i did. I took them apart and made single shot thingys with homemade tubes but its up to you. There are more people on here with more info then me though.
