As the Xmas season descends like a thick white blanket on much of the
country and thoughts turn to Xmas bills, I'd like to mention for those
who might not know me, that I am an obsessive collector of science
fiction art, primarily from the period 1920-1970. I have around 450
pieces framed and hanging in my house, with art by Finlay, Bok,
Cartier, Paul, Freas, Emsh, Powers, Jones, Valigursky, Lawrence and
many many others. I collect black and whites and cover paintings. I
also sell art by many of the same artists and even trade. I don't do
this as a get rich scheme, and I often work with old artists or their
heirs to help them raise some money for art that would otherwise be
thrown away. If you have some old art, especially magazine cover
paintings or paperback cover paintings, drop me a line and maybe we
could make a deal.
No fan art - though I am fond of it, I have no luck brokering it.
Only professionally published art goes for any type of money.

I don't have any professional F/SF art, but MAN, would I love to see a
book of YOURS (Hint. Hint, hint.).
I have several collections of fantasy and science fiction art. 20 or
so years ago, it seemed like there were quite a few such available.
Now, well, Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, Brom and some newer artists
seem to get stuff printed, but what I would like to see is something
like "The Collected Works of Frank R. Paul", or "The Essential
Leydenfrost"(if I spelled that right). There were one or two artist in
Weird Tales that were interesting (was it Boris Daglov?) whose work
would be nice to see. What about a Summers SF cover collection? There
are all those corny, silly, campy, weird, and beautiful F/SF pulp
magazine covers that would be a joy to look at.
The only thing is, I couldn't guarantee more than one sale for a
collection like that (and maybe not until it had been worked into my
budget).
