copied and pasted from a friend's LJ - bwahahaha! good one!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the
tree.
Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid
of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples
from the ground that aren't as good, but easy.

The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in
reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to
come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top
of the tree.

Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up
to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something
acceptable to have dinner with.

Heh. I think that's a great way to put it. But....

....this kind of humour, I hate. It wouldn't be acceptable if a man
made this kind of comment about women, so why should it be OK the other
way round?

<shrugs> a joke is a joke, to me. I wouldn't take offense if it were the
other way around, as long as it's a "joke." and there's plenty out there,
considering the blonde jokes, <grins>

Is it the gender bashing you deplore- or all around insulting type of humor?

wondered

Humour that insults a group as a whole (barring some obvious reason to
insult them as a group - I mean, you can crack all the anti-Nazi jokes
you like as far as I'm concerned). It's a form of bigotry.

I actually do laugh at some 'generalized' jokes directed at women too,
so maybe it's just my bad sense of humor. ; )

Eh...I dont think it's bigotry unless the person saying it *really*
believes it about *every* single member of a certain group. Also, real
bigots would say the above but not mean it to be funny...and real
bigots reading it, would read it and not laugh. You know what I mean?
I think the reason most jokes like the above are funny (to some) is
cause the jokes *are* generalizations that those (some) can relate
to... and you know what they say... better to laugh than cry. ; )
It's the same with all those ... 'you know you're a redneck when'
jokes, and similiar. Altho.. maybe you find those offensive too. :X

Sarah, I'm just being silly now, but do you mean it's ok to poke fun at
Nazis or at the anti-Nazis, (being those who are against the Nazis? ;-)

Seriously- hey! It's *your* sense of humor! ;-) I know some funny skin
head jokes, too <winks & giggles>

grinned
