So, I don't get to avoid the swine flu entirely...

My son, who is away at college, has the flu. He's coughing and taking
over-the-counter meds to get comfortable and get his rest. The school
has told him that he is *not* *allowed* to go to class until he is
better. (So, hopefully, that means the professors are instructed to
deal with helping him get caught up once he gets better.)

Hopefully, this is as close as it gets.

Bummer for your son. (How did he get to be college age so fast,
anyway??)

Hope the rest of you stay healthy. I've missed two opportunities for
the H1N1 vaccine, and won't likely get another, but oh well. So far, so
good.

I'm not planning on queuing up for the vaccine. I work in a cubicle,
not much exposure to the public.

My husband, however, is a school bus driver. They get exposed to every
bug that passes by.

My son seems to be on the mend. He let me know his fever was abated at
his last clinic visit. (The nurse practitioners at the campus health
center have had him in daily.)

We've been texting a bunch today. Earlier, he'd just text back
something like, "I'm OK, but I'm going to nap now, and have some soup
later."

So, I'm a bit less worried now.
