I remember when I was with a woman I was quite a large guy, we ended up
breaking up and I was left alone... ...quite a big guy and no girlfriend
while at the same time having the labido of a bull elephant - I needed a
girl and I couldnt do it sitting on my arse! ;-)
I lost 50Kgs and was the fittest I had ever been in my life - my mates all
called me 'The ManWhore' because it was such a change and I was charming all
the girls too. My current girlfriend is still a little jealous.
I was the same as you. I had the choice: Stay lonely and make love to my
hand (fear) or get out and have fun, enjoy life and have any woman I desire
(gain) - and I went for the gain.
Maybe the inticement youre giving yourself isnt the RIGHT ONE? ;-)

Funny, I used the same moving toward visual, but it just doesn't seem to
work for me like fear does. Even with women, I tend to motivate myself by
fear rather than reward. Is it possible to use nlp in this way?

What stops it working for you?
Living in fear sucks. Not only does it feel bad, it makes you focus on
all the wrong things and takes 10 years off your life. Perhaps if you
eliminate whatever reticence you have, you can enjoy doing what you need
to do and enjoy being motivated for it too.

Negative imagery would be.....what would life be like if you dont do
what you have to do.
For example the perfect job you wont get, the perfect girl that wont
be attracted to you or the once in a lifetime opportunity you miss
because of your non action.
By getting really in touch with the full visual/words and feelings of
what is passing you by, is how your create a really good moving away
factor. The more vividly you can create the imagery/feelings/words the
more effective your motivation.
Well done for recognising that you are a moving away person!

The usual thing is that their is two lots of PAIN in the situation of
exercising and no real PERCIEVED reward for doing it.
'...should I exercise today?'
(internal) '...you got to be joking, sweaty and puffed and buggered and full
of pain...?!?!?!?'
and the origonal reason, to get 'chicks' just doesnt cut it.
So you can make yourself a trade off - notice the more we DONT want to do
something the more STEPS there are to do it?
Ask someone who doesnt regularly exercise what they have to do and it will
go like this:
'...ah geez, I have to get ready, track suit, and get some water, get the
bag and towel ready and get my arse to the gym, fight people for machinery
and try and exercise while people watch and...
Ask someone who regularly works out and they will say:
'...ah yeah, grab a towel and Im out the door ready!'
So go back, if you say make less steps for the exercise and more STEPS for
the getting the chicks, you will actually be MOTIVATED!
'...Exercise, thats nothing, 40min of sweat so I can go to the pub and dance
all night with cute women and get looks from them, buy them drinks and have
fun, make friends and meet up afterward, maybe for something more than just
friends and get happy about it, then...'
say that sort of stuff when your exercising and visualise the cute women
your talking to - workouts will seem in 2min instead of 40min and there will
be plenty of motivation!
