The "subconscious mind" does indeed distinguish between negative and
positive.
A negative hallucination may have nothing to do with a negative command.
Proof? Surely that depends on what you expect? If I say "Don't think of
a white door.", I expect you think of a white door.
A bit of basic reading on positive and negative suggestions, positive
and negative phrasing, and positive and negative hallucinations is
called for.

Without "imagining" every word, you couldn't use language.
But thinking is not doing.
Of course there are expressions and commands that, after a long
(military)-training do not awake an image anymore but cause inmediate
(re)-action.
