The fire from the sky is not the nuclear weapon .... its the comet which
will hit the earth around the time when WW-III will be going on. Like
shoemaker-levy 9, this comet too will break into several pieces and strike
at various places of the earth including Europe and USA. That is how "fire
will approach" from the sky. The scattered flame will leap upwards when the
comet strikes the earth. Many other quatrains describe the event of fire
falling from the sky. It is unlikely that this refers to nukes. See

Read as modern French:
Avec violence/véhémence
Latitude forty-five, the sky shall burn:
To great ?New City? shall the fire draw nigh.
With vehemence the flames shall spread and churn
When with the North conclusions they shall try.
Peter you are really changing the wording especially the last line,
this line is the key to understanding the Quatrain, for it is the
Vatican who seeks more proof (preuve) from the Normans. Though now
they will try to keep the people in ignorance for they know what has
been foretold, their days are almost over as many have predicted
including Nostradamus.

2.The verse says nothing whatever about the Vatican.
3. Normans are the inhabitants of Normandy, formerly rulers of Sicily

The posters show their reading habits but check the Cheathams and lose
the trail with an Ovason or Hogue! not much talk of the green language
which only the initiates know (wink wink) the fire fron sky would
allude to meteorite activity through probably only golf ball size, but
you would have to be there to really connect to it.
45 degrees maybe Baghdad though I'll stick to CIIIQ61 for a direct

There never was a mention of a Muslim invasion in the quatrains except in
your books, so we can be sure that it will never occur, for Nostradamus
means exactly the opposite of what you say he means!
