Been doing some thinking about Michel's contacts in Germany. (Uh oh.)

Well, as Peter, Zaphod and others have pointed out, our friend the
Doctor was heavily influenced by Trithemius, who shamelessly 'promoted'
the Germanic cause - whatever the hell that was supposed to be.

One will even discover a few Barbarossa refs in Doc's poems, eh? And
that's a direct swipe from Trithemius, of course. (Another one of those
Arthurian types, who will return from the hereafter to help his country
in troubled times?)

Whose side was Michel really on? If he did, in fact, serve as Grand
Master of the Order after the Gonzaga 'crisis', what was his agenda?
Did it fall upon him to reorganize the brethren, and prepare them for
battle? Was he obligated to support the Guise-Lorraine cause? Or was
he actually supporting the Bourbons? And which of these families would
the Germans have preferred to deal with? Catholic fanatics... or
Lutheran sympathizers?

If you study Masonic rituals of the c18 and consider the history of the
33rd Degree, you may arrive at the possibility that at least one strain
of Scottish Rite freemasonry was fervently supportive of Frederick the
Great. (Draw your own conclusions. It has very little to do with
Scotland. LOL!) This is most confusing, as one must choose between
loyalty to the Templars (French) or fealty to the Teutonic Knights
(German). When one considers the c16, it is difficult to escape the
fact that the Teutonic Knights were, indeed, still active... while the
Templars, ostensibly, were not ;o)

Who were the men behind Luther's 'success'? And didn't Protestantism
inspire a series of earthshaking revolutions in the c16? Then, in the
c17, the Rosicrucians?

And why do you suppose an ostensibly Catholic plague doctor and writer
of almanacs, safely retired to Salon, would secretly correspond with
Lutherans?

And whom did he serve with this grail? Was he truly a friend of the
Franciscans? Here you will discover one of the greatest mysteries, as
you will see that some of these Franciscan sects (there are many) were
actively involved in intelligence gathering. (Rabelais began his
strange career as one, and super-spy Roger Bacon was one of the most
famous of the friars, back in the c13.) Why do you suppose the Jesuits
were promptly invented and mobilized, immediately thereafter, as shock
troops and book burners?

There must be a logical explanation for the 1999 poem... and this must
be it. (Whatever the hell you may read between the lines. LOL!) But do
you really think Michel cared if the future GM would be of Angouleme
blood? (That certainly puts the historian in a 'crusading' mood, does
it not? Or was he just sucking up to the King's sister, which whom he
no doubt was, uh... enamoured of/with... whate'er?)

Lots of new stuff to consider at

His secretary, Chavigny, was a fervent Catholic!

Now you know why Nostradamus was labeled a Catholic! His Bio-Sec was
always wanting his master to agree-and be like him! His prphecies show
him as a concervative!- closer to Luterism than the so called Catholic
Sex parties free for alls in the Court! And by the way if Nostradamus
ever mentiones the Kings death he would have been put to death befor or
after the event!
