This is moving in a Mike direction, where aliens would be
further beyond us than we are from worms, so they could
be here, and they could have been here all along, and we
might never know it.

Think of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy:

The "Somebody Else's Problem Field."

It doesn't make things invisible, that much is impossible,
it just makes you ignore it like you do somebody else's
problem.

Or, put bluntly: "Not my problem!"

Ever feel as if life, the universe is against you? That some
force or power is stopping you from succeeding?

ALIENS!

Or just your own subconscious and all those mental blocks
you set up, but it could also be aliens directing human
civilization... experimenting...

Maybe with their technology they figured out that you're
Napoleon, Atilla the Hun & Einstein all rolled into one, so
they decided to throw every conceivable barrier to success
at you as an experiment. Maybe they even determined that
another new born was a blithering idiot with zero potential,
and then manipulated events & people to provide them with
with unlimited opportunities to achieve YOUR potential...

Or, again, maybe it's just your mental blocks, those rules that
you invented for yourself...

But, again, Carl Sagan was talking aliens a bazillion years
ago, only in the Mike context.

He pooped on the Doc style aliens.
