With WWE heading for Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel next week, a more NXT-centric card was lined up for the 10/23 episode of Champions Challenge. The remaining matches, with AEW, ROH, & Impact talent, will be taped on 10/20 in Nashville.

From Orlando (Amway Center):

Jack Hunter opened, and introduced new NXT North American champion Carmelo Hayes. But before Hayes could talk, Legado del Fantasma came out. Santos Escobar blames Hayes for costing him the title on 10/12, and wants a shot, but Hunter has other ideas. Legado will not be challenging for any titles until after January 1 due to "extreme misconduct" in abducting the rest of Hit Row on 10/12, with the sole purpose of playing mind games with Isaiah "Swerve" Scott. With Hit Row now on Smackdown (as of 10/22), Legado will face some severe punishment for the rest of 2021.

Announced for later:

Hayes vs. Joe Gacy in a non-title match.
NXT women's champion Raquel Gonzalez vs. Raw women's champion Charlotte Flair in a non-title match as part of the gauntlet Charlotte has to go through.
Von Wagner (Calvin Bloom) vs. Tony D'Angelo.
Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza vs. the Street Profits.
Bron Breakker (Bronson Rechsteiner) vs. Duke Hudson.

1. Xyon Quinn def. Grayson Waller with the flying forearm. The two shook hands after the match. Time: 10:40.
2. Wagner def. D'Angelo in 12:03 by countering the cradle neckbreaker into his corkscrew butterfly suplex finisher.
3. Breakker def. Hudson in 8:40 with the top rope bulldog.
4. Non-title: Hayes def. Gacy in 13:30 with a top rope legdrop.
5. Non-title: Gonzalez def. Flair via Cingona Bomb in 18:40.

NXT champion Tomasso Ciampa came out to address the crowd. On November 6, many of the same men we saw "tonight" will be in a "Future Stars" tournament, and could end up like Carmelo Hayes, a future champion.

The field:

Bron Breakker vs. Tony D'Angelo.
Joe Gacy vs. Trey Baxter.
Grayson Waller vs. Duke Hudson in a rematch from 10/12.
Von Wagner vs. Harland (Parker Boudreaux)
Xyon Quinn vs. Andre Chase.
Odyssey Jones vs. Malik Blade

The winners will go into a pair of triple threat semi-finals, and the finals will also be a triple threat at Bragging Rights, on November 28.
