The Founders, or, more specifically, Stephanie McMahon & Jack Hunter, open. Triple H is back in Connecticut. Changes to this week's card:
Cody Rhodes now faces AR Fox. Nick Wayne has not been cleared after being ambushed by Fox & Swerve Strickland two weeks ago. Joe Gacy & Schism are suspended until November 1, though Ava will be activated October 1. This is due to Schism's backstage attacks on 8/8.
JD McDonagh rounds out the Challengers team in the main event, amid rumors he'd be added to Judgment Day eventually.
Next week sees Champions vs. Challengers II, this time covering Raw & Smackdown, and Roman Reigns had best learn to get along with his teammates......
Champions: Reigns, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, Gunther, IYO SKY, & Rhea Ripley vs. a challenger team to be announced later.
1. Ivy Nile submitted Kiana James in 3:00 flat with the DIamond Chain (wraparound dragon sleeper). James was DQd on 8/8 for illegal participation (Ava distracted Nile).
2. Cody Rhodes def. AR Fox in 18:10 with CrossRhodes.
3. Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen def. Charlie Dempsey & Drew Gulak in 11:05 when Dempsey was pinned after the hi-lo. Heels were again DQd on 8/8 for interference (Damon Kemp).
4. Darby Allin def. Swerve Strickland in 11:10 with the Coffin Drop. No Mogul Embassy.
Next week, Dominik Mysterio must face Dragon Lee in a rematch for the North American title or face having the title stripped from him. Yup, Dirty Dom was DQ'd on 8/8 for Rhea Ripley's interference.
5. Shinsuke Nakamura def. Dolph Ziggler in 11:40 with Kinshasa. Post-match, Nakamura declared himself for next week's Champions vs. Challengers match.
6. WWE Women's title: IYO SKY def. Bianca Belair in 11:20 with the Over The Moonsault. No Bayley, as she was banned from ringside, and will not be allowed at ringside next week as well. Damage CTRL was fined "$50,000" for predatory use of the Money in The Bank briefcase at Summerslam.
The Challengers have been announced for next week:
Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre, LA Knight, Santos Escobar (though Escobar & Theory could switch if Escobar wins the US title on 8/11), Asuka, & Becky Lynch.
7. UWA Champions vs. Challengers elimination match. Order of elimination:
1st fall: Asuka & Rhea Ripley brawled to the back and were counted out at 11:05.
2nd fall: Dijak pinned Damian Priest with Feast Your Eyes at 16:30.
3rd fall: Julius Creed pinned JD McDonagh after the sliding lariat at 22:50.
4th fall: Keith Lee pinned Dominik Mysterio at 31:05 after Supernova (Big Bang Catastrophe).
5th fall: Dijak turned on Lee, and laid him out with a discus boot, leading to a 1916 from Finn Balor at 36:20.
6th fall: Brutus Creed pinned Balor after a Brutus-ball Doomsday Device at 39:15. Lee & Dijak brawled to the back as this was happening.
