(fantasy) UWA Champions Challenge, 10/9 & 16

2 weeks worth of episodes from Pittsburgh:
10/9:
1. Odyssey Jones def. LA Knight in a return from 10/5. Match went 8:55. As was the case the first time, Andre Chase came out to distract Jones. However, referee Jessika Carr took punitive action, and ejected Chase on the spot. Knight rolled up Jones with his feet on the ropes, but Carr refused to count the pin. Jones came back, and hit a top rope splash to get his revenge.
John Morrison is having it out with Sonya Deville. Since Mandy Rose was entered in a #1 contender's elimination match, she isn't going to be in a mixed tag. Stephanie McMahon steps in, and decides that Deville has been out of line as it relates to Naomi on Smackdown, so Rose is out, and Naomi is in. The mixed tag is on, and Stephanie assigns Chase as Mandy's partner. Deville is out as an authority figure going forward, and will return to action next week.
2. Tegan Nox def. Ivy Nile in 5:40 with the Shiniest Wizard. Nile, it seems, is on job duty as punishment for interfering in the NXT cruiserweight title match on 9/21.
3. John Morrison & Franky Monet def. Mandy Rose & Andre Chase in 12:40. Stephanie was at the desk doing commentary. Since Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne couldn't decide who would be in the coach's box, Stephanie kept a close eye on them. Dolin was ejected just seconds into the match for getting on the apron. Morrison pinned Chase after Starship Pain.
4. #1 contender's eliminator: Naomi vs. Becky Lynch vs. Io Shirai vs. Raquel Gonzalez vs. Elektra Lopez vs. Mia Yim. Order of elimination:
1st fall: Yim pinned Lopez with Protect Ya Neck at 3:05. Legado del Fantasma was banned from ringside.
2nd fall: Naomi pinned Yim after her version of Starship Pain at 9:55.
3rd fall: Lynch submitted Naomi with the Disarm-her at 18:40.
4th fall: Shirai pinned Lynch after the moonsault at 19:00 flat.
5th fall: Gonzalez advances after landing the Cingona Bomb on Shirai at 28:40.
5. Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta, the latter making her debut, def. Toxic Attraction in 5:40. Hartwell submitted Jacy Jayne with the Silence (Anaconda Vice), Dexter Lumis' finisher. Lumis returns "next week".
6. Non-title: Drew McIntyre def. Roderick Strong in 11:55 with the Claymore Kick. Malcolm Bivens left the coach's box, and tripped McIntyre at the 5:00 mark, but was caught, and ejected by ref Paul Turner (AEW).
Kenny Omega interview. The "Super Elite" (Omega, Adam Cole, & The Young Bucks) have been ordered to give Jurassic Express, Bryan Danielson, & Christian Cage a rematch due to outside interference and low blows on 10/6. Omega refuses, feeling the UWA Executive Board is singling him out. However, Commissioner William Regal knew Omega would take that tack. "Next week", it'll be:
Young Bucks vs. Jurassic Express.
Danielson vs. Cole.
Cage vs. Omega in a non-title match. The Elite cannot interfere in each other's matches under penalty of suspension.
Tony Khan confronts Omega. With Brandon Cutler now suspended until December 1 for repeated violations, Michael Nakazawa is being punished for his actions. Next.
7. Non-title: Tomasso Ciampa def. Nakazawa in 2:55 with Willow's Bell. Punishment squash.
8. Non-title: Shayna Baszler submitted Charlotte Flair with the Kirafuda Clutch in 13:55. The self-styled "Queen" cut a promo pre-match, insisting on the gauntlet being discontinued, but that's not going to happen.
Omega came out for a promo, and ripped into Khan for "kow-towing" to the UWA Executive Board. He ragged on Stephanie, alleging that she was secretly cheating on Triple H "with just about every eligible bachelor in the NXT locker room". Stephanie didn't take the bait. However, Jack Hunter showed up, and dropped Omega with Super Sweet Chin Music. Then, as Omega staggered to his feet, Hunter hit the Last Ride to a giant pop as the show "ended".
10/16:
Rematches from the Queen's Crown are on the card, since WWE is just giving the women lip service, based on the booking on 10/8.
1. Liv Morgan def. Carmella via DQ in :45. Carmella came out with a protective mask over her face, given her vanity gimmick. Stephanie came out, and said that is not allowed, and ordered the mask removed. Carmella stalled, and hit Morgan with the mask for the intentional DQ. Carr confiscated the mask. Morgan came back, and hit ObLIVion (slingshot STO).
It was announced that Carmella is suspended for 15 days for "insubordination". Her boyfriend, Corey Graves, whined about it on commentary.
2. Zelina Vega earned her first win in the UWA, beating Toni Storm in a major upset at 14:55. She countered Storm Zero, and hit the Code Red, as she did on 10/8.
3. Dexter Lumis submitted Andre Chase with the Silence in 5:40. Chase is on job duty, which is nothing new.
4. Jurassic Express def. The Young Bucks in 17:54 when Luchasaurus pinned Nick Jackson after Extinction.
5. Doudrop (Piper Niven) def. Natalya via DQ in 3:55 when Charlotte Flair did a run-in, and attacked Doudrop, who beat her "two weeks ago". Natalya tried to stop her, but was attacked as well.
6. #1 eliminator, AEW division. Order of elimination:
1st fall: Nyla Rose pinned Abadon at 8:50 with the Beast Bomb.
2nd fall: Jade Cargill pinned Julia Hart with Jaded (Glam Slam) at 13:40.
3rd fall: Ty Conti pinned Cargill after the DDTay at 19:54.
4th fall: Conti eliminated Rose via DQ at 20:00. Mark Sterling, Cargill's manager, got on the apron to distract Conti, but it was Vickie Guerrero, Rose's manager, who hit Ty with a loaded purse. However, Guerrero was caught, and Rose is out of the match as a result! She also KO'd Thunder Rosa, who was on the floor, so the match was stopped.
Jack Hunter came out. Guerrero & Sterling are suspended for 60 days for misconduct, and at Full Moon Frenzy, Bianca Belair defends the UWA women's title vs. Conti, Rosa, & Raquel Gonzalez in a fatal 4-way elimination match.
Announcement of Women of Wrestling returning in syndication in 2022, with April Brooks (AJ Lee) as a color analyst and executive producer.
7. Bryan Danielson submitted Adam Cole with the Cattle Mutilation at 23:50.
8. Non-title: Christian Cage completed the revenge sweep, def. Kenny Omega in 10:40 with the Killswitch.
