upwards of $10, this exclusive, first ever Roddy Piper shoot interview
is available for half that, for a limited time only.

The first 15-20 minutes is based largely on Roderick Tomb’s life as a
child. He explains how he had to move every year, on the button,
because of his father’s jobs. Piper also goes into great depth as to
why he is actually a coward.

Many discrepancies are brought up about things Piper has said in his
book, and in several internet press releases. Piper says that people
have said he rambles. He agree’s, and accredits some of the problems
to his car accident…

Piper was involved in a major car accident on January 31st of this
year (2002), when a crazed wrestling fan pushed him into the path of
two oncoming cars. Suffering 4 broken ribs, a broken ankle, a
shattered back, spleen and liver, Piper was in intensive care for a
full week.

Next, Piper moves on to talk about his WrestleMania 1 match with Mr. T
and Hulk Hogan, and how he refused point blank to lay down for Hogan.
He also goes on to mention how he planned out the match with McMahon,
and it was him who masterminded the way to get Mr. T over as a
wrestler, not McMahon.

Kayfabe (which Piper says is pronounced ‘kay fay buh’, not ‘kay fab’)
was spoken about, and Piper said that it was the fan’s fault for him
having to live as Roddy Piper not Roderick Tombs.

This moves nicely into the next topic, Wade Keller of the Pro
Wrestling Torch. Piper says that Keller has NO right, to talk about
him in the way he does, because they don’t even know each other. Dave
Meltzer mentioned one time, 5 years ago, on the LAW, that "nobody
cares what Roddy Piper does anymore". Piper has never forgiven Dave
for this random, off the cuff, unprovoked comment.

After finishing on that topic, Dave Peltzer (Piper’s tour manager, and
the interviewer) quotes to Piper quotes from his young son’s interview
on PiperView, saying how hard it is when dad is on the road. Piper is
visibly shocked, as he’d never seen or heard of this interview, and he
is unsure how to react. This part of the interview is definitely a
must see, as it really shows an insight into the REAL character behind
the gimmick.

Vince Russo: A "Piece Of Sh*t".
Vince McMahon Jr Doesn’t understand why he does it (makes reference to
Stephanie/Rikishi’s ass in her face).
Hogan: Piper has " a Lotta respect for the guy, as a person".
Eric Bischoff: Never intended to hurt wrestling.
Ric Flair: Great man, truly better than Piper.
Kerry Von Eric: Piper speaks out on the death of Von Eric, very
candidly.
Jose Gonzales: The person who stabbed Bruiser Brody. Piper speaks very
frankly, honestly, on the issue of Brody’s death for the first time.
It is his opinion, that Gonzales wasn’t using self-defence, and flat
out killed Brody… therefore is a murderer.
Bret Hart: Piper makes a hard shot at Goldberg, for his part in ending
Hart’s career, and makes some candid comments about his past with
Bret.

Piper then goes on to speak about his times working the territory, in
specific one time when a wrestler, Big Bad John, was stabbed on his
way to the ring. Piper was told to rush to get to the ring, and
literally had to step OVER the fallen man’s body, with the knife still
in him, under the premise that the show must go on.

Owen Hart’s death was then brought up, and Piper says that he doesn’t
want Owen’s death to be in vain.

'Rowdy' Roddy Piper: A kid that had a dream.
Roderick Tombs: The man behind the mask.

The book, In The Pit With Piper, is brought up. The book, "is not a
book about wrestling". Piper apologises for insulting Wade Keller’s
mother earlier on in the interview, and says that he wants Dave
Meltzer to know that his book is about an afraid little boy… Roderick
Tombs.
