Today I attended my first WWE (or any other wrestling) event in Sheffield,
this is what happened

Stephanie McMahon came out and announced that Undertaker wasn't there and
listed the main matches for the night

- Funaki vs Albert
Funaki told Albert to shave his back before they started, and got in some
early offense before Albert destroyed him, after being trapped in a bearhug
Funaki finally got a few more shots in and picked up the win after the
referee kicked Albert into a roll-up for the 1-2-3
Winner: Funaki

After the match Albert hit a baldo bomb on Funaki and splashed him from the
top rope

- Shannon Moore, Bill DeMott & Chuck Palumbo vs Crash, D-Von & Ron Simmons
Chuck started off the match beating on D-Von and Simmons, after tagging to
Moore, most of the match featured the heels beating down on Moore, D-Von hit
a headbutt to Moore's groin, and Shannon was isolated from his corner, after
D-Von missed another headbutt attempt, Moore tagged in DeMott, leading to
all six men being in the ring, as the others went to the outside, Crash went
to the top rope to hit a bodysplash, but DeMott rolled through it to get the
win
Winners: Bill DeMott, Shannon Moore & Chuck Palumbo

- Chavo Guerrero vs Billy Kidman
Billy was in control of the match ealy, but Chavo fought back working on
Billy's neck and arm, Billy got out of a sleeper hold, but Chavo was still
on top, a number of high impact moves by Chavo only got him 2 counts, but
Billy managed one of his own to pick the 3
Winner: Billy Kidman

- John Cena vs The Big Valbowski
The match began on the mat with a lot of grappling and armdrags, Cena then
offered Val a handshake, but as he accepted it Cena hit him with a
clothesline to take control of the match, Cena hit a suplex, but it only got
a 2 count, so he followed it up with a subsission hold, Val fought out but
was taken down again, Val hits a suplex that takes both men down. After they
got to their feet Val hit a slam thats very similar to a rock bottom, but it
only got a 2 count, Valbowski looked for the figure 4, but Cena countered
and hit a slam of his own that only got 2. Cena tried to hit a superplex,
but Val pushed him off and went for the money shot, but missed, Val finally
locked in the figure 4, but Cena escaped it and picked up a cheap win by
using the ropes
Winner: John Cena

- Jamie Noble (with Nidia) vs Tajiri: WWE Cruiserweight Title match
Lots of armdrags to start, Noble knocked down to the outside, Tajiri went
after him, so Nidia hit him to even the odds. Noble took control of the
match locking in a submission hold, Tajiri escaped, but Noble was still
dominant. Tajiri broke Noble's control with a stiff kick and tornado DDT
that took both men down. The match then went back and forth, Tajiri hit a
handspring elbow, Noble hit an impressive suplex, and Tajiri lock ed in the
tarantula. With Tajiri on top in the match Nidia got on the apron to
interfere, Noble went to jump him from behind, but Tajiri moved, with Noble
instead knocking Nidia off the ring apron and bouncing back into a roll-up
by Tajiri, however, Noble rolled it through and picked up the 3 with a
handful of tights
Winner: Jamie Noble

Decent match, but the start and end seemed very similar to earlier matches

We then had an intermission, and the ring announcer and referees put on a
new top rope

- Edge & Rey Mysterio vs Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle: WWE Tag Team Title match
Edge, Rey and Angle all got loud pops (Kurt also got a very loud you suck
chant), Benoit received only boos. Benoit and Angle played rock, paper
scissors to decide who would start, but there was never a winner, so Kurt
decided he would. Angle started the match on his knees so that he was on
Mysterio's level. Typical Rey and Kurt stuff to start, slapping each other's
heads, when Edge was tagged in Kurt escaped the ring and tagged Benoit while
he was still on the outside. Cheapshot by Angle to Edge from outside, Edge
speared him off the apron, another cheapshot by Angle, tag from Benoit to
Angle, who was playing the heel well but kept taunting Benoit too, good
offense by Kurt, Benoit tagged himself back in, hit a diving headbutt, but
only got a 2 count, suplex, only 2 again, tag to Angle, he locked in a
sleeper on the mat, Edge's arm dropped twice, but not third time, Angle hit
a couple of german suplexes, then got the anklelock, countered by Edge, Kurt
tried for the angleslam, countered into an edgecution, both men down, both
crawl to their corners for a tag. Mysterio on top, but Angle interferes,
crossface by Benoit, Rey escapes and hits the 619. Edge and Angle in the
ring, Edge goes for the spear but hits the referee, tries again, hits the
spear on Angle, but the referee is down so ther was nobody to count. The
Guerreros come to the ring, Chavo tried to hit Rey, but got taken down with
the headscissors, Eddie had more success with a belt shot, the referee
recovered as Benoit pinned for the 1-2-3
Winners: Chris Benoit & Kurt Angle

- Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie: Bra and Panties match
Not much wrestling, but you wouldn't expect much, Dawn took Torrie's top off
first, Torrie then got Dawn's top, a catfight followed and the referee got
caught in it as they rolled around the ring, Torrie won by rolling up Dawn
and pulling off her long pants, then after the match removed her own skimpy
shorts
Winner: Torrie Wilson

Before the final match Tony Chimel introduced the guest ring announcers Tazz
and Michael Cole. Tazz made Chimel admit that he'd earlier said that
Sheffield sucks and told him to leave, then Michael Cole introduced the
participants

- Rikishi & Booker T vs Matt Hardy and Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman)
Booker T wasn't much of a surprise partner for Rikishi, everyone knew it was
him, Brock got a decent pop when he came out, and an even bigger one when he
held the belt up in the ring, the match took a while to get started, the
referee even made Booker T hold the tag rope. Matt tried to suplex Rikishi,
but couldn't, so did a few press ups and tried again but was kicked down
into the corner, he escaped the early chance of a stinkface and hit the side
effect on Rikishi, Booker and Brock wrestled and countered one another for a
bit, Brock took control with 2 huge vertical suplexes, and continued to wear
Booker down, Booker finally got a tag to Rikishi, Matt also back in, Booker
and Brock were fighting on the outside, another side effect by Matt, who
then went for a twist of fate, countered by Rikishi into a rikishi driver to
pick up the win
Winners: Rikishi and Booker T

After the match Brock came back into the ring but was knocked down into the
corner, Matt also knocked down, Rikishi couldn't choose who to stinkface,
Heyamn came in the ring to stop him, Heyman knocked down by Booker t who
then pulled down his trunks and gave Heyman a stinkface, Booker and Rikishi
started to leave but then Rikishi came back and gave Heyman another
stinkface, they started to leave again but couldn't leave without dancing.
Edge, Rey and Torrie came back out to join them, Booker asked if they were
all ready, Edge said he wasn't because he can't dance, Booker said everyone
had to do a spinarooni, which they all did (sort of) they then lined up to
dance and got the crowd to cheer to decide which direction to do it in, they
then danced for a few minutes and then it was finally time to leave.

Sheffield Arena
Sheffield, England.
Smackdown House Show @ 2pm on 27/10/02
By: Udnan Ali, rajahwwf.com reader

The show started just after 2pm at the Sheffield Arena. Stephanie McMahon
came out first to a huge pop. She basically said that Undertaker cannot be
here due to injuries and his wife's pregnancy. She promised to spare no
expense to ensure that the replacement would be excellent as she wanted to
give Sheffield a great event. The main event was announced as Brock and
Matt Hardy vs Rikishi and a mystery opponent (Booker T).

First match was Funaki vs Albert. Funaki came out to a huge pop and cut a
short promo about Albert. Short match which ended when Funaki pinned
Albert. Crowd was clearly against Albert.

Billy Kidman beat Chavo Guerrero in another short match. Little crowd
reaction due to no current angle between the two.

When the 6 man tag match was announced next, it got a great reception. It
was Shannon Moore, Chuck Palumbo and Bill DeMott vs D-Von, Ron Simmons and
Crash. Chuck was easily the favourite in this match. This reasonably good
match ended when Chuck pinned Crash.

Jamie Noble w/Nidia pinned Tajiri in another great match which the crowd
enjoyed. Nidia interfered as expected.

John Cena pinned Val Venis with the feet on the ropes. Venis sold an injury
- not sure why, but was helped to the back after the match.

Interval.

Edge/Rey vs Benoit/Angle - Angle got a huge pop and Benoit was also
appreciated. Edge and Rey also came out to huge pops. A very entertaining
match - the crowd was involved all the way throughout.

Next up was Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie in a bra and panties match. Great
ovation for Torrie, Dawn Marie got a few boos. This ended when Torrie was
successful in removing Dawn Marie's bra and panties.

Brock Lesnar and Matt Hardy vs Rikishi and Booker T.
Before the main event, Tazz and Michael Cole were announced as the special
guest announcers. Tazz ribbed Tony Chimmel for saying negative stuff about
Sheffield and was intimidated out of the ring by Tazz. Booker T got the pop
of the night when he made his entrance. Great match throughout and ended
when Rikishi pinned Hardy and Brock and Booker were fighting outside. After
the match, Brock and Matt Hardy quickly left and Paul Heyman was left alone
in the ring. In an hilarious moment, Booker T gave the stinkface to Heyman
then Rikishi did the same. Booker T was going to leave the ring when he was
stopped by Rikishi who said he couldn't leave Sheffield without busting a
move - the spinaroonie. After the spinaroonie, Rikishi called out his
friends - Torrie, Rey and Edge who all spent a good 15 minutes entertaining
the crowd with dances. Even Rikishi attempted a spinaroonie! Booker T
called in Tony Chimmel and reminded him about what Chimmel had said. In the
middle of this, the mike stopped working, but Booker T quickly managed to
avoid any disruption and pushed Chimmel into the corner setting him up for
the stink face. Rey, Edge, Booker T and even Torrie gave a stinkface each
to Tony Chimmel who obviously looked very embarrassed. The foursome
continued to entertain the crowd with Rikishi's dance and music for a good
5-10 minutes before leaving.

After the show, a small crowd gathered at the back entrance of the arena to
catch a glimpse of the stars, but were kept being told that they had already
left. Myself and about another 50 fans saw three coaches leaving and began
waving at several stars. Matt Hardy was great as he was standing and waved
at all the fans as much as he could. I got a special wave from Stephanie
which was nice. Torrie Wilson was blowing kisses to many fans. Other stars
I waved to were Benoit, Booker T (three times), Tazz, Dawn Marie, Nidia,
Billy Kidman, Funaki, and John Cena. Val Venis ignored everyone and looked
stone-faced. Brock Lesnar was in what appeared to be the First Class coach
and was seen eating a meal very quickly.

This was my first WWE event of any kind, and I must admit I thoroughly
enjoyed the experience.

Top 5 cheers:

Booker T
Edge
Rikishi
Rey
Angle

Rebellion Aftermath
Sheffield, England
October 27, 2002
Report By: Mark Willis, rajahwwf.com reader

Tony Chimel was first out and took us through the rules for the show.

Stephanie McMahon came out to huge cheers. She got in the ring but everyone
knew what she was about to say and so as she announced Undertaker would not
be at the show there was a huge chorus of boo's. She said there would be a
surprise partner for Rikishi in the main event and a Bra and Panties match.

-Funaki vs. Albert
A good match with the usual power moves by Albert. Funaki started up some
"shave your back chants". Finish saw Funaki win via rollup. After the match
Albert gave Funaki the Baldo Bomb, then returned again to finish him off
with the splash from the second rope.
Winner: Funaki

-Billy Kidman vs. Chavo Guerrero
Another good match with Chavo working over Kidman's leg. Finish saw Kidman
give Chavo a bulldog from the ropes. Chavo was helped away from the ring by
a few of the referee's and Fit Finlay.
Winner: Billy Kidman

-Ron Simmons, D-Von and Crash vs. Shannon Moore, Bill DeMott and Chuck
Palumbo
Chuck was worked over for most of the match. He eventually got the hot tag
and Moore and DeMott got in their moves. Crash was pinned.
Winners: Shannon Moore, Bill DeMott and Chuck Palumbo

-John Cena vs. The Big Valbowski
Both came out to big pops. Cena turned heel when he hit Valbowski during a
test of strength. Good psychology used again during this match. Val went for
the Money Shot but missed and hurt his abdomen, Cena quickly gave him a
powerbomb and pinned him with his feet on the ropes. After the match as Val
was being taken out of the ring by the referee's Fit Finlay said something
to him to which he burst into laughter, but then he quickly fell back into
character and sold his injury.
Winner: John Cena

Cruiserweight Championship Match
-Jamie Noble w/ Nidia vs. Tajiri
Another great match with Tajiri using a number of his kicks to the delight
of the audience, one of which took Nidia off the ring apron. The finish saw
Noble grab a handful of tights for the pin.
Winner: Jamie Noble

Interval

WWE Tag Team Chmpionship Match
-Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit vs. Edge and Rey Mysterio
All of the participants received huge pops on their entrances. Another five
star match with the comedy elements between Angle and Benoit. All signature
moves were utilized in the match. At one point Angle was chasing Rey around
the ring and Rey turned on the ropes to hit a great looking 619 which could
only be done justice by T.V. The finish saw the ref knocked out and the
Guerrero's enter the ring. Chavo was taken out but Eddie used one of the
title belts to help Angle and Benoit retain.
Winners: Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit

Bra and Panties Match
-Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie
A good women's encounter which was similar to the recent PPV match. The
referee rolling around the ring with the girls spot was used, but then the
ref climbed the ring post and threw his arms in the air for a thunderous
pop. Dawn Marie was unclothed first for the win. After the match Torrie
unselfishly removed her remaining garment for the audience to receive yet
another thunderous pop.
Winner: Torrie Wilson

Main Event
-Brock Lesnar w/ Paul Heyman and Matt Hardy vs. Rikishi and Surprise Partner
Before the match Tazz and Michael Cole came out to the ring as special guest
announcers. Tazz got in Chimel's face and told everyone how Chimel said
Sheffield and its food sucked which got huge heat. Chimel denied this, but
then Tazz got in his face again and asked if he was calling Tazz a liar.
Chimel quickly backed down and admitted what he had said. As expected Booker
T came out as the surprise partner. Rikishi and Booker T stood in the ring
for a few minutes mocking Brock's usual entrance movements. A good match
which saw a lot of power moves. Rikishi got the pin after a Rikishidriver on
Matt. After the match as Rikishi was going to give Paul Heyman a Stinkface
Booker stopped him and took down his trunks and did it himself!
Winners: Rikishi and Booker T

After Brock and Matt left, Rikishi stopped Booker leaving and announced they
would be busting a move. Booker then took the mic and said before busting a
move a few people would be coming out to the ring to help out. Edge, Rey
Mysterio and Torrie Wilson came back to the ring. Also a host of backstage
staff including Fit Finlay came to the apron to watch and laugh. Booker then
said before busting a move we would all see an Edge-arooni, a Rey-arooni, a
Torrie-rooni and a Rump-arooni, but first a Spin-arooni! Torrie and Rey's
versions were second only to Booker's. Rikishi spun on his back as he
couldn't get the height and Edge' version purely looked bad. They all then
bust a move for all sides of the arena, after this Booker dragged Chimel
into the ring. He asked Chimel if he really had said those bad things about
Sheffield, Chimel didn't need to answer as the audience reaction told the
story. Rikishi then backed Chimel into one of the corners and Booker took
the legs from under Chimel for the hard landing. First Edge took down his
tights to give Chimel a Stinkface, then Rey did the same. The crowd chanted
for Torrie to be next so she pulled up her trunks to deliver a Stinkface,
then Rikishi finished him off.

Overall a great show which great matches.
