I would like to become an information broker, but do not know what kind
of license is required, if any. I live in Ohio, but am moving to
Florida. I just want to do basic stuff, like find people, tennent
screen, employee screen, that sort of thing. Nothing like investigative
work. I'll leave that to you professionals.
Thanks, and don't forget, I know where you all live!

In article <31EECE...@cyberusa.com>, spo...@cyberusa.com says...

As far as I know there are no states that require an information broker to be
licensed - aside from regular business permits, etc. However, you want to
find people, screen tennents and employees. Many states regard each of those
activities as being in the relm of private investigation. Many (not all)
states will require you to be licensed to do those things. Iowa certainly
does. Florida licenses PIs and would likely consider those activities as
falling under that license.

What type of information falls under "Information Broker" where it would
not fall into the realm of "Private Investigator"?
