hi

unfortunately I got some spyware on my pc and therefore I installed ad-aware
6.0 and spybot 1.3. They found not a lot, but they found some spyware on my
notebook. but also with these two programs I couldn't completely solve my
problem.

1) Before running the spyware tools, the default page on IE was directed to
a search page with a pop-up advertisement, which is linked to the
spywarenuker page. there you could download a spyware tool named
"spywarenuker" which was in fact (as I know now!) adware! Perfect... after
running the 2 programs I could finally solve this problem, so that spyware
was detected and now my default page is again my own and it doesn't change
every boot-up.

But if I fail to write a homepage correctly, e.g. www.sinesin.com (wrong),
instead of www.sinesin.ch (right), I will be linked again to this search
page with the pop-up advertisement to the spywarenuker page. So I think, I
haven't entirely solved the problem and I cannot find the settings entry to
kick this URL out!

I found on the Symantec Homepage, that spywarenuker is adware and there are
removal instructions. I followed them, but my problem still exists (I
couldn't find the registry entry, which I had to remove; is that the
problem?)

I am thankful for every comment!

The significance of the above will be made clear shortly.

That is correct. Those tools can be very useful to find *some* problems, and
to apply the appropriate "band-aids"; but as valuable as they are under those
circumstances, they amount to treating the symptom, instead of the disease.
You need to fix the underlying problem, which is that your crap browser (MSIE)
has been hijacked.

This is a problem specific to MSIE, which is the *only* browser vulnerable to
these exploits (of which there are now so many that they form an entire
*class* of malware). As noted, the popular, if inherently futile, answer to
that is to treat the symptom; and I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions on
that front. But I suggest that you simply cure the disease:

<http://www.litepc.com/98lite.html>
<http://www.litepc.com/xplite.html>

Pick whichever is appropriate to your system/needs. Then install a *decent*
browser, such as K-Meleon, Mozilla Firefox, or (some versions of) Opera.
