MIAMI BEACH, Fla. Rap mogul Suge (shug) Knight is hospitalized in good
condition after being shot in the leg during a party in Miami Beach.
Police say Knight was shot early Sunday during an incident at a
celebrity-studded party hosted by hip-hop artist Kanye (KAHN'-yay) West
ahead of Sunday night's M-T-V Video Music Awards show.
A guest at the Shore Club says she heard a shot shortly before one a-m
in the party's V-I-P section. She says she got trampled as screaming
people ran for the doors.
Knight is 40, and is co-founder of the pioneering rap label, Death Row
Records. He hit the charts in the 1990's with such West Coast stars as
Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur (TOO'-pahk shuh-KOOR').
