The problem PG and other conservatives now face is that having had it
mostly their way for the past decade or so and being unable to hide
the facts anymore. In three years eggs have almost doubled in price.
Milk is up 25% in one year and gasoline is up 30%. Is it any wonder
that government removes the "volatile" energy and food categories
before it agrees on what inflation rate to tell us? Too bad I can't
strip the price increases of gasoline and food out of my budget.
Wallboard demand is down 25% in just one year. That means wallboard
is cheap right now. I think it's a safe bet that construction
material prices are included in the current inflation rates as
published.
I don't believe the inflation rate any more and haven't for a long
time. I can look around at the store and at utility bills and at what
I have left at the end of the month and I know the cost of living is
going up faster than it has in at least twenty years.
