Fox News exit poll summary: Obama's key groups made the difference
November 07, 2012

An examination of the exit polls sheds light on how a president facing
unemployment near 8 percent, debt topping $16 trillion and mounting
questions over the Libya terror attack was able to win a second term
in office.

Obama’s win Tuesday night came from a strong showing among core
Democratic constituencies, being more likeable than his opponent, and
an economy that voters felt is doing well-enough to give him another
four years. Also, the president’s response to Hurricane Sandy in the
final days of the campaign was an important factor to many voters.

Obama’s key groups made the difference -- both in their makeup of the
electorate and, for the most part, their strength of support for him.
Non-whites made up 28 percent of the electorate, up a bit from 27
percent in 2008. This group largely backed Obama: 71 percent of
Hispanics (it was 67 percent last time), and 93 percent of blacks
(down a touch from 95 percent).

Republican challenger Mitt Romney won among white voters by 20
percentage points. That’s up from John McCain’s edge of +12 points in
2008. In addition, the share of votes cast by whites was lower (72
percent) than it has been going back to at least 1992.

Young voters were important to giving Obama his first term. Voters
under age 30 showed up again this time: They represented 19 percent
of all voters, one point higher than the 18 percent in 2008. Even so,
they didn’t back him as strongly this time: 60 percent -- down six
points.

National

Young Voters

Obama 60%

Romney 37%

Seniors backed Romney by 56-44 percent, mostly unchanged from 2008.

Meanwhile, more Democrats than Republicans voted, 38-32 percent. In
2008, Democrats also outnumbered Republicans by 39-32 percent.

Almost all Democrats supported the president (92 percent). That
support was equaled among Republicans for Romney (93 percent).

Forty-five percent of independents backed Obama, down from 52 percent
last time. Half of this swing group preferred Romney (49 percent).

Marital status was a more significant factor than gender this year.
Women, a traditional Democratic voting group, backed Obama by 11
points -- about the same as by 13 points in 2008. Even so, married
women backed Romney by 7 points (an improvement from McCain’s +3
showing).

Men backed Romney (52-45 percent), and married men backed him by an
even wider margin (60-38 percent).

Romney was successful in energizing his base: conservatives accounted
for 35 percent of all voters today, one-point higher than in 2008. And
he captured 82 percent of them (McCain got 78 percent). White
born-again Christians made up 26 percent of the voters today and 78
percent favored Romney (for McCain it was 74 percent).

In addition, white Catholics went for Romney by a margin of 59-40
percent. This is a group that has historically backed the winner.

About four voters in 10 say Obama’s response to Hurricane Sandy was
important to their vote (42 percent), and they backed the president by
a better than two-to-one margin. Fifteen percent said it was the
“most important” factor in their vote.

Mood of the Country

Obama’s victory comes despite voter dissatisfaction with how things
are going in the country, mediocre economic ratings and a majority
opposing his health care plan.

Less than half of voters think the country is headed in the right
direction (46 percent). Fifty-two percent say things are going in the
wrong direction. Still, that’s an improvement from the 75 percent who
thought so in 2008.

National

Direction of the Country

Right Direction 46%

Wrong Track 52%

For reference, when former President George W. Bush won re-election in
2004, it was 49 percent right direction and 46 percent wrong track.

Voters who said the country is on the right track went for Obama (93-6
percent), while those who said things are going in the wrong direction
went solidly for Romney (84-13 percent).

Overall, 23 percent rate the condition of the nation’s economy
positively (2 percent “excellent” and 21 percent “good”). That’s
three times as many as the 7 percent who rated it positively in 2008.

Fully 77 percent of voters gave a gloomier assessment (45 percent “not
so good” and 31 percent “poor”).

Almost all Republicans (96 percent) and most independents (80 percent)
gave the economy a thumbs-down, as did 58 percent of Democrats.

Voters are also divided over whether the economy is getting better or
worse (39-30 percent).

Obama benefited from more voters blaming Bush (53 percent) than him
(38 percent) for current economic conditions.

National

Blame For Current

Economic Problems

Obama 38%

Bush 53%

Twenty-five percent said they are better off today than four years ago
-- almost identical to the 24 percent who felt that way in 2008. More
-- 33 percent -- said they are worse off now. Another 41 percent say
there has been no change in their family’s financial situation.

Most of those saying they are better off today voted to re-elect the
president (84-15 percent). Those who are worse off sided with Romney
by 80-18 percent.

Results on the role of government favored Romney. Fifty-one percent
said they prefer smaller government with fewer services, while 43
percent prefer larger government.

These divided views translate into clear vote preferences: voters who
want the government to do less backed Romney by a whopping 50-point
margin, and those that want it to do more went for Obama by 65 points.

A 54-percent majority approves of President Obama’s job performance,
while 45 percent disapprove. Almost all of those who approve voted
for him today (89 percent), just as those that disapprove backed his
challenger (94 percent).

In addition, 19 percent of voters felt “angry” about the Obama
administration and 30 percent were “dissatisfied but not angry.” At
the other end of the spectrum 24 percent felt “satisfied, but not
enthusiastic,” and 25 percent felt “enthusiastic.”

On the Issues

There’s no doubt the economy is the top issue for voters -- here’s
what they say is the biggest economic problem they’re personally
facing. Voters saying unemployment is the biggest problem sided with
Romney. Those who say rising prices go to Obama.

National

Most Important Economic Issue

Unemployment 38%

Rising Prices 37%

Taxes 14%

Housing Market 8%

Romney had a one-point edge on doing a better job on the economy and
likewise on the federal budget deficit (+2).

More voters trust Obama than Romney to handle an international crisis
(+7 points) and think he would better handle Medicare (+8 points).

Nearly half of voters -- 49 percent -- think all or part of Obama’s
health care law should be repealed -- something Romney had said he
would do. Forty-four percent want to keep or expand the law.

A plurality agrees with Obama on what should happen with income tax
rates: 47 percent think taxes should increase only on income over
$250,000. Some 13 percent say taxes should increase on everyone,
while 35 percent don’t think anybody’s taxes should increase.

The Candidates

More voters like Obama: 53 percent have a favorable opinion of him,
while 47 percent have a positive view of Romney.

National

Opinion of Obama

Favorable 53%

Unfavorable 46

National

Opinion of Romney

Favorable 47%

And by 53-43 percent voters think Obama is “in touch” with people like
them.

National

In Touch With People Like You

Obama is 53%

Romney is 43%

People looking for empathy in a candidate mostly back Obama (81-18
percent). Those looking for a candidate who shares their values went
for Romney (55-42 percent), as did those who wanted someone with a
vision for the future (54-45 percent).

Finally, Obama successfully painted Romney as someone whose policies
would favor the rich -- 53 percent of voters thought that. Almost all
voters think Obama’s policies favor the middle class (44 percent) or
poor (31 percent).

COLORADO

President Obama won Colorado, a battleground state that he also won in
2008, with the help of Hispanics and independents.

Colorado has a large Hispanic population -- the state ranks sixth in
the United States. Hispanics gave the president more support than in
2008 when he received 61 percent to McCain’s 38 percent.

Colorado

Hispanics

Obama 74%

Romney 25%

White evangelicals also put their support behind the Republican
candidate. Colorado is home to James Dobson one of the most
influential spokesmen for the conservative movement and its social
positions behind the white evangelical movement in the United States.
In 2008, white evangelicals supported the Republican candidate John
McCain by 76 percent to Obama with 23 percent.

Colorado

Evangelicals

Obama 23%

Romney 74%

In 2008, independents in Colorado gave their support to Obama by 54 to
44 percent for Arizona Sen. John McCain. Tonight, that support
dropped significantly -- by 11 points -- and Mitt Romney won that
important group.

Colorado

Independents

Obama 43%

Romney 50%

Obama won with the support of Colorado’s voters who identified
themselves as moderates. But his support with this group was down
significantly from 2008. Obama won moderates in his first bid for the
White House 63 percent to 34 percent for Senator McCain.

this writing. Unemployment and home foreclosure rates are high there,
but half the voters blame George W. Bush for current economic
problems.

Independents were 33 percent of the voters in Florida. They split 50

IOWA

Obama started his presidential career winning the Iowa caucuses in

Romney didn’t gain any votes with his position on abortion. A majority
of voters think abortion should be legal. Obama outscored Romney on
being better able to handle the economy, Medicare, energy policy and
being in touch.

OHIO

Since 2004, Ohio has flip-flopped in its support for the presidency
between the Republican and Democratic candidates. In 2008, Obama won
by five points. In 2004, Ohio voters supported the Republican
presidential candidate, George W. Bush, over Democrat John Kerry by
two percentage points. Tonight, Obama carried the state for the
second time.

Ohio voters are more likely to blame the country’s current economic
conditions on former President George W. Bush than Obama. Ohio has an
unemployment rate of seven percent, which is below the national
average of 7.8 percent. It also ranks 10th in foreclosures.

with an unemployment rate at two percentage points below the national
average. Still, Virginia voters said the economy was their top

Well, Patriot, ignoring your base premise since it is patently false
(President Obama is a Christian Centralist and he won the Presidency
of the United States this week, so a Muslim Communist DID NOT win
POTUS), the "Hint" portion in the title of your threads (so far three)
indeed seems to be a new angle, with the potential for some amusement
for many in this newsgroup.

Let's see what you cited:

OK, so people who liked President Obama (or at least didn't like
Romney) turned out to vote for him, and people who liked Romney (or at
least didn't like Obama) turned out to vote for Mitt. And in the end
more people voted for President Obama in enough states, that Obama won
both the popular vote and the Electoral vote.
Fine, that seems pretty straightforward.

So, what bizarre Tea-Publican righty conspiracy are you pushing with
this "Hint" concept, Patriot, old boy? This should be good for a
laugh or two.

Fine - here's an even newer "poll" for Flamer & Butt-Boi, and it's the only one that actually matters:

As can be seen from that thread, that was quoting a Daily Kos article (not linked, just cited)
"The other is a private poll from Republican pollster Opinion
Dynamics, which used to conducting polling for Fox News. This survey
was taken for Mass Insight, a self-described "market-driven solutions"
think tank, and it has Brown on top 52-43. Aside from the poll's

So, Patriot's response to that:

So Patriot just responded with some irrevelavant nonsense, unless he was claiming that Republican pollsters are too stupid to earn Master Degrees in energy policy and to work at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs - and if he's referring to hard-core TeaPublicans he's probably quite right.

So what else did I say in my post from March?
"Oops, Republican pollster + old poll + Brown's stumble on the Blunt

Indeed.

For example, when not seasonally adjusted the Unemployment Rate was

White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for

Actual quote from "The Audacity of Hope" [pg. 261]: Of course, not all
my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In
the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for
example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and
FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense
of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of
immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific
assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America
has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during
World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political
winds shift in an ugly direction.

In the interest of being accurate Buckwheat is NOT a traditional Arab

Wrong. Buckwheat is more of a Communist than anything else. Again,
in the interest of being accurate, most DemocRATs today are
"social-Communists," meaning an Americanized combination of classic
Socialism and classic Communism.

The first rule of simplifying is to NOT make it so simple that it
becomes completely stupid, irrelevant or wrong. You broke that 1st
rule...

There are 50 different observations from the 2008 election that could
have been factors and ALL of them are now irrelevant since the 2012
re-election. (For example: The 30-And-Under demographic has
traditionally registered to vote in high numbers and then voted in
quite low numbers but in 2008 they voted in quite HIGH numbers. Was
that a fluke? No, as we now know.)

Keeping it simple, here are the basic facts:

1) There are MORE registered DemocRATs than registered Republicans.

2) Registered DemocRAT voter turnout is HIGHER than registered
Republican voter turnout. (More registered Republicans have given
up...)

3) So-called Centrist or Independent voters are NOT centrist or
Independent, they mainly lean Left, support increased entitlements for
themselves and therefore support a Social-Communist agenda.

4) Demographics are going to dictate EVERYTHING for about the next 20
years:

a) 80 million Baby Boomers are going to die off. The Baby Boomers are
100% of the World War I, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War
veterans.

b) The Baby Boomers are 100% of the so-called 'Reagan Democrats.'

c) The Baby Boomers were/are AT A MINIMUM fiscally conservative,
socially moderate (not liberal) and pro-military, pro-defense,
pro-gun, and pro-American Exceptionalism.

d) The Baby Boomers are being replaced by Social Communists who are AT
A MINIMUM atheists (if not anti-Christian), demand extensive
birthright entitlements, are anti-military, anti-defense, and
anti-American Exceptionalism (see Note #1). Something like 12,410,000
Baby Boomers are projected to die between now and the 2014 Midterm
elections...

e) Conservatism, as it exists today, from limp (GOP) to extreme
(so-called religious right) is unquestionably going EXTINCT and
NOTHING CAN SAVE IT. It could take most of the next 20 to 25 years of
the Baby Boomer die-off to see Conservatism become fully extinct but
on the national level it is ALREADY DEAD.

5) No amount of platform pandering can create a re-invented GOP that
can compete with the already proven-successful Social-Communist
DemocRATs. (See Note#2.)

6) Given the beating the limp GOP got, TWICE, any third party MORE
conservative than the limp GOP has NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER.

The above are FACTS.

My opinion is: IT'S OVER. America is FINISHED. The actual total
collapse (probably) won't happen overnight, but it is now GUARANTEED
to happen and there is NOTHING that can prevent it.

----------------------------------------

Note #1: Claiming that the Social-Communist DemocRATs are
anti-American Exceptionalism is both true and hilarious. We've seen
every version of Socialism and Communism fail over the last half a
century HOWEVER Social-Communist DemocRATs think THEY can come up with
a special and successful implementation... How could they possibly
think that if they didn't ALSO think THEY (Americans) were NOT MORE
exceptional than EVERYONE ELSE who has tried (and failed)???

Note #2: The most obvious question is something like: Is there any way
to "change" these failure-destined entitlement-dependent
Social-Communists? No, not realistically. Only something beyond
massive, such as a world war on the scale of WWII or larger could do
it and a world war in the 21st century means nuclear and that would
actually create MORE demand for gov't entitlements...

>So...

Thanks for the opportunity to shit in your open mouth in public,
again...

Wow!
Patriot Flamer really has gone over the edge; I knew he was losing it when he started with the “State Run Media” nonsense (see "Patriot Flamer Note 1"), but he has entered a BroilJab and Phantom level of delusion with this meandering post.
His response is absolutely one target rich environment of right-wing insanity and delusions.

Full on stale righty “Obama is a Muslim” nonsense, readily dismissed (Hell, Patriot’s own cite didn’t even support his case – e.g. “Julie Bataille from the university's press office e-mailed me that the White House had asked that ALL university signage and symbols behind the stage in Gaston Hall be covered”).

However, Patriot added a twist I haven’t heard of before:
> His 20+ years with Rev. Wright (a former Muslim)
Rev Wright was a former Muslim? Really? Well, let’s check his wiki entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremiah_Wright
“His parents are The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Sr. (1909–2001), a Baptist minister who pastored Grace Baptist Church in Germantown, Philadelphia, from 1938 to 1980,[8] and Dr. Mary Elizabeth Henderson Wright, a school teacher who was the first black person to teach an academic subject at Roosevelt Junior High.”
-- OK, no Islam there
“From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University,[2] in Richmond and is a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, Zeta chapter. In 1961 Wright left college and joined the United States Marine Corps and became part of the 2nd Marine Division attaining the rank of private first class. In 1963, after two years of service, Wright joined the United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center.[11][12] Wright was then trained as a cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Wright was assigned as part of the medical team charged with care of President Lyndon B. Johnson (see photo of Wright caring for Johnson after his 1966 surgery).
<snip>
In 1967 Wright enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1968 and a master's degree in English in 1969. He also earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School”[11]
-- OK, no Islam there either
“Wright became pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago on March 1, 1972; it had some 250 members on its rolls, but only about 90 or so were actually attending worship by that time”
--OK, Pastor of the Church of Christ at age, what 31? No islam there either.
So where does “Rev Wright was a Muslim” come from – it seems to stem from a 2007 New Republic blog article by Ryan Lizza - that has since been removed – conspiratorial!:
http://bobmccarty.com/2008/04/08/rev-wright-was-a-former-muslim-and-other-news/
“first appeared in an article written by Ryan Lizza, senior editor at The New Republic. Though it appeared in TNR’s blog, The Agitator, March 9, 2007, this link takes you to a site where the article in question was”
Yeah, I don’t think so…

> Wrong. Buckwheat is more of a Communist than anything else. Again,
> in the interest of being accurate, most Democrats today are

> Socialism and classic Communism.
Patriot Flamer and accuracy are mutually exclusive; for instance, The “Our Gang” character Buckwheat may well have been a Communist, but President Obama is quite the centralist (much to the dismay of many Progressives). He just looks leftist in comparison to the barking-mad bat-shit insane Tea-Publicans righties.
Now, this use of “Social-Communist”, hmm, might be a new meme that righties are trying to push, just like they did with IslamoFascists and such.
For Communists, well you’d want this link, Patriot old chap: http://www.cpusa.org/faq/

> The first rule of simplifying is to NOT make it so simple that it

The reality is damn simple – enough people voted for Obama in enough states that he won both the Popular Vote and the Electoral College. Indeed, bets are being made that as the final vote counts are being certified across the country and President Obama’s vote percentage increases, will Romney’s popular vote total drop low enough to be rounded down to…47%! Huzzah!

Here Patriot is trying to come off as Nate Silver, but ends up looking like Dean Chambers (or perhaps Dean Martin in his post-Rat Pack days)

> 1) There are MORE registered Democrat than registered Republicans.
Don’t tell Scotty Rasmussen that, for him party ID is the end-all-be-all:
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865566109/Rasmussen-poll-shows-Republican-identification-up-Democratic-identification-down-since-2008.html
In Oct. 2008, 33.3 percent of voters identified themselves as Republican, compared to 40.3 percent who identified themselves as Democrats. In 2012, according to the new Rasmussen data, 39.1 percent of voters now identify themselves as Republicans and 33.3 percent identify themselves as Democrats.

> 2) Registered Democrat voter turnout is HIGHER than registered

No way it could be the idiot crap candidates that the Republican party was running for office, could it? Also, note that Patriot wrote “REGISTERED DEMOCRAT[ic] Voter turnout” – maybe even he’s grasped the fact that VOTER FRAUD is near non-existentin in the US, while ELECTION FRAUD is what us Americans need to be worry about.

Patriot pushing the “Social-Communist” meme again, must be the new righty talking point.

The Baby Boomers are 100% of WWI & WWII & Korean Vets? What the hell does that mean? By definition, the Baby Boomer generation came after WWII ended, so none of them could have served in the World Wars (BTW, the last US WWI vet passed away in 2011, according to this wiki article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_last_surviving_World_War_I_veterans_by_country), and the oldest of the Boomers would have been, what, 5-6 when the Korea War really started.

> b) The Baby Boomers are 100% of the so-called 'Reagan Democrats.'
Hmm, in 1980 the oldest Boomer would be about, what, 35? So nobody in their 40s or 50s at that time became a Reagan Democrat? Interesting revisionist history.

> c) The Baby Boomers were/are AT A MINIMUM fiscally conservative,
> socially moderate (not liberal) and pro-military, pro-defense,

You know, President Obama was born in 1961 - that would put him at the very tail end of the Baby Boom generation – meaning he would be considered a BABY BOOMER.
So according to Patriot Flamer, President Obama is a fiscal conservative, he's not liberal, he's pro-military, he's pro-gun, and pro-American Exceptionalism. How about that!

> d) The Baby Boomers are being replaced by Social Communists
Yup, Patriot pushing this “Social Communists” nonsense big-time.

* Column: Reality crashes the Republican Party *
For Republicans wondering what went wrong, it's not a matter of
fine-tuning a message or finding minority candidates; the problem is
a platform that staked out the far-right fringe on many issues.

by Sandy Banks
November 9, 2012, 4:04 p.m.

It turns out this presidential election wasn't so much about race
after all, but about something bigger, more fundamental and harder to
ignore. And there's a lesson here for shellshocked Republicans, still
wondering how things went so wrong:

It's time to drop that "Take our country back" stuff and take your
party back instead.

Barack Obama's romp took many by surprise. Even as Obama votes piled
up on Tuesday night, political operative Dick Morris, who has worked
both sides of the aisle, kept predicting a Mitt Romney landslide.

It's hard to argue with the demographic dimensions of Obama's victory.
He won in almost every category of voters except senior citizens and
white men.

That's led to lots of head-banging for GOP pundits: Romney might have
won, they say, if he had eased up on illegal immigration and found a
running mate who could attract Latinos or draw votes in swing states.

But this is not a matter of fine-tuning the message or rustling up a
candidate with brown skin or serviceable Spanish.

The problem is a platform that staked out the far-right fringe on so
many issues that it turned off immigrants, women, minorities, single
mothers, young people, gays and lesbians.

The images of winners and losers on election night said it all: the
Norman Rockwell tableau in Romney's sullen Boston ballroom versus the
kaleidoscopic diversity of Obama's Chicago victory montage.

The America the Republicans want is not the one we have.

Conventional wisdom would credit the win to smart campaigning and
coalition-building.

According to exit polls, support for Obama came from 93% of blacks,
71% of Latinos, 73% of Asian Americans, 76% of gays and lesbians, 60%
of voters under 30 and 55% of women.

But that is not your classic ideological coalition, with shared
interests and concerns. That's a collection of folks alienated, over
time, by Republicans and their mission to return America to an era
when some people had it really good — and whole groups of others had
to settle for leftovers.

People vote their pocketbooks, but they also vote their passions. And
those reflect not only their age and ethnic heritage, but the sort of
personal lives that right-wingers have made clear they're not willing
to abide.

Women are having babies without marrying the fathers. Gays and
lesbians aren't willing anymore to stay hidden in the closet. Young
people are using social media to lift their champions and bury their
opponents. And Latinos and Asian Americans are staking their claim to
a growing slice of this American pie.

And that affects the rest of us. If you don't have a family member
who's gay, you probably have a friend or co-worker who is. If you have
teenagers at home, you've probably learned to accept their bands of
multiracial friends.

And if you are, like me, a single mother, you don't want to be made to
feel that you are shortchanging your kids. And I'm not willing to
allow my daughters' reproductive options to be controlled by a bunch
of narrow-minded, self-righteous men.

Voters carried those slights and insults to the voting booth, tired of
being treated with contempt by a party that doesn't seem to understand
their realities.

We're rejecting hypocritical rhetoric: Newt Gingrich, with three
marriages and a string of infidelities, arguing that allowing gays to
wed violates the sanctity of marriage.

Women heard a wake-up call in Todd Akin's remarks about rape shutting
a woman's body down. That kind of idiocy is frightening, and it brings
clarity to what's at stake in the debate over abortion.

And young people rebelled at being written off as society's leeches.
They are working full time for poverty wages or desperate for jobs
that don't exist, part of that sponger demographic — the 47% — that
Romney privately mocked.

I don't know if it's mean-spirited, shortsighted or simply wishful
thinking, but the Republican Party is pandering to a base that is
rapidly shrinking in a country that's learning to tune them out.

It would be nice to think that this botched campaign reflects the pull
of the party's fringe, and is easily correctable.

But the GOP has been tacking right for decades. Obama's ascent to the
presidency just escalated the phenomenon by helping to launch the tea
party wing, whose mission was getting him out of office.

According to Emory University professor Alan Abramowitz, who has
studied the tea party for years, that ultra-conservative activist
segment now dominates the Republican Party.

Tea party folks donate more money, attend more meetings and rallies,
and pester elected officials more than other party regulars. They are
rabidly against abortion and gay marriage and tend to hold hostile
attitudes toward blacks and gays.

And more than half of Republicans — 63% of party stalwarts — consider
themselves supporters of the tea party movement.

That explains why the muscle-flexing of the "new America" in this
election drove party leaders bonkers.

There was Karl Rove on Tuesday night, having a temper tantrum when Fox
News called Ohio — and the race — for President Obama. Rove had
funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to Republican candidates and
had very little to show for it.

And there was Bill O'Reilly whining that this country is "not a
traditional America anymore," implying that Republicans value hard
work and fair play, and those other people just "want stuff."

And Morris, excusing his roundly mocked projection of a Romney
landslide by admitting that the "new America" caught him by surprise.

He thought that the election four years ago was nothing but a "one-
off," that voter-turnout demographics would "go back to 2004," he
said.

I guess he figured the groups that cinched Obama's first term —
minorities, women, young people — were only there for the party.

Which means Republicans weren't beaten only by arithmetic this time.
They lost through willful blindness.

Once you pronounce belief in the Christian trinity, you are no longer
a Muslim.
Its doesn't matter who your father was.

In any case, Obama's father didn't raise him to be a Muslim. His
mother raised him as a Christian.
What this colleague likely has is a touch of bigotry (included

Social Security expenditures exceeded the program’s non-interest
income in 2010 for the first time since 1983. The $49 billion deficit
last year (excluding interest income) and $46 billion projected
deficit in 2011 are in large part due to the weakened economy and to
downward income adjustments that correct for excess payroll tax
revenue credited to the trust funds in earlier years. This deficit is
expected to shrink to about $20 billion for years 2012-2014 as the
economy strengthens. After 2014, cash deficits are expected to grow
rapidly as the number of beneficiaries continues to grow at a
substantially faster rate than the number of covered workers.

Any time a western-oriented person (Left or Right) is told they can't
do what they want to do they call it "fascist" and Islamic (Sharia)
Law provides THOUSANDS of things one is not permitted to do (or must
do under penaly of having a body part hacked off)...

It's not my fault you're stupid - "IslamoFascism" isn't a meme:

A meme is "an idea, behavior or style that spreads from person to
person within a culture." A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural
ideas, symbols or practices, which can be transmitted from one mind to
another through writing, speech, gestures, rituals or other imitable
phenomena. Supporters of the concept regard memes as cultural
analogues to genes in that they self-replicate, mutate and respond to
selective pressures.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme

"IslamoFascism" is a neologism - look it up...

"Social-Communist" isn't a meme that I know of any more than "Social
Democrat" is a meme - "Social Democrat" is the name the Socialists
GAVE THEMSELVES: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDUSA

"Social-Communist DemocRAT" is more accurate than "Social DemocRAT"
because aspects of basic Communism show up in "Social DemocRAT" plans
for America...

And I should also point out that defending and supporting Islam isn't
going to help you in the future. I realize that your Nazi-like
tendencies remind you of how the Nazis befriended the Muslims in WWII
against the Americans and our Allies HOWEVER, in the future, you will
either have to convert to Islam or you will be killed...

No, it wasn't (they weren't), because those particular demographics
were not numerically significant (except maybe at the local level).
The Baby Boomer demographics (80,000,000) aren't even hugely
significant - they ARE the single most significant population
demographic human society HAS EVER EXPERIENCED. For the very first
time in recorded human history over 50% of a population will be 50
years old or older...

I'm having waay too much fun to leave anytime soon. Plus, I have
unfinished business I intend to complete.

And I do enjoy pointing at you Social-Communists and laughing at your
failures...

Anybody who follows any national sport is eventually confronted with a
championship (World Series, Super Bowl, etc.) where neither team is
your home team and you've never even been to either city or state. So
you aren't feeling so bad or so good for the loser or the winner - and

>a Muslim.
>Its doesn't matter who your father was.

The best you could do is quote a blog...???

Very, very, characteristically pathetic of you...

At any rate, the above is TRUE. However, it is VERY INCOMPLETE...

Start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostasy_in_Islam

>In any case, Obama's father didn't raise him to be a Muslim.

Oops! Caught lying...

His birth father (an African Muslim) gave him a traditional Muslim
name thus making him a Muslim according to Islamic Law. His Muslim
father DID raise him in Islam until his parents divorce.

>His mother raised him as a Christian.

Oops! Caught lying...

His mother divorced his African Muslim father and married an
Indonesian Muslim (another Muslim, two in a row, of course that's just
a coincidence, right?). Buckwheat was enrolled in an Indonesian
Catholic school where the choices of stated religion were: Muslim,
Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic or Protestant. His mother selected "Muslim"
as his religion...

>But tell him that Obama's testament of belief in the trinity is
>grounds enough make him a Christian.

And that is TRUE yet INCOMPLETE...

Let's summarize: He was born a Muslim, his birth father named him
according to Islamic Law as a Muslim, his birth father intended for
him to be a Muslim and raised him as a Muslim until the divorce. His
mother married yet another Muslim, and enrolled him in school as a
Muslim...

Then (some years later) Buckwheat DENOUNCES Islam...

So, YES, that makes him NOT a Muslim and, according to his
DENOUNCEMENT, makes him a Christian - all true...

Except for ONE problem - as documented above the predominant worldwide
Islamic Law opinion is that the punishment for apostasy is
execution...

Has such a 'fatwa' been issued for Buckwheat??? Not that I've ever
heard of...

Which then gives us one OTHER problem - We KNOW he was born a Muslim,
we KNOW he was raised as a Muslim, we KNOW he was enrolled as a
Muslim, we KNOW he DENOUNCED Islam, and lastly we KNOW the predominant
world Islamic Law penalty for that is DEATH...

Why no death fatwa???

Because of this: Al-Takeyya. "The Islamic principle of lying for the
sake of Allah. Falsehoods told to prevent denigration of Islam, to
protect oneself, or to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned by
the Qur'an, including lying under penalty of perjury in testimony
before the United States Congress, lying or making distorted
statements to the media such as claiming that Islam is a religion of
peace..."

So now we KNOW he is STILL Muslim because no penalty has been issued
for his alleged conversion to Christianity because that alleged
conversion IS A LIE - a LIE SANCTIONED BY ISLAMIC LAW...

I'll bet your "husband" has some housework or other chores for you to
do so run along like a good little whatever-it-is-you-are and obey
your "husband."

Oh goody, I see Patriot has issued his rebuttal to my critique of his stinking load from yesterday. Of course, it really isn’t a rebuttal, more of complete whining and lying while repeating debunked talking points

On Sunday, November 11, 2012 7:40:41 AM UTC-8, patrio...@democrathallofshame.com http://www.democrathallofshame.com wrote:

And the facts are not on your side, Patriot, reality having a Liberal bias and all

Hoo Boy, instead of wasting time trying to untangle those lies, I’ll let Wiki do it for me:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_religion_conspiracy_theories
And here too
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_image_of_Barack_Obama#Religion
In The Audacity of Hope, Obama writes that he "was not raised in a religious household". He describes his mother, raised by non-religious parents (whom Obama has specified elsewhere as "non-practicing Methodists and Baptists") to be detached from religion, yet "in many ways the most spiritually awakened person that I have ever known". He describes his father as "raised a Muslim", but a "confirmed atheist" by the time his parents met, and his stepfather as "a man who saw religion as not particularly useful". His spiritual change of heart as an adult and his coming to believe in Christianity is a major part of his autobiography Dreams from My Father. “

> then transitioned to Black Liberation theology...
Actually, since according to Wiki, the Trinity United Church of Christ, Chicago is the church most frequently cited by press accounts, and by Cone as the best example of a church formally founded on the vision of Black liberation theology, and since President Obama did worship there, we’ll give Patriot that one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_liberation_theology
However, notice Patriot did skip over this:

> > His 20+ years with Rev. Wright (a former Muslim)
Which I shown was based off a wonky quote from Ryan Lizza that apparently was later deleted:
> So where does “Rev Wright was a Muslim” come from – it seems to stem from a 2007 New Republic blog article by Ryan Lizza - that has since been removed – conspiratorial!:
> “first appeared in an article written by Ryan Lizza, senior editor at The New Republic. Though it appeared in TNR’s blog, The Agitator, March 9, 2007, this link takes you to a site where the article in question was”

> "IslamoFascism" isn't a meme:
> "IslamoFascism" is a neologism - look it up...
Indeed, let’s look it up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamofascism
“The term "Islamofascism" is included in the New Oxford American Dictionary, which defines it as "a controversial term equating some modern Islamic movements with the European fascist movements of the early twentieth century".[1] The term is used in this manner by writers like Stephen Schwartz[2] and Christopher Hitchens,[3] to describe Islamist extremists, including terrorist groups such as al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah. William Safire makes particular note of Hitchens as a "popularizer" of the word, though Hitchens declined credit for coining it.
<snip>
The origins of the term are uncertain. William Safire writes that the "first use [he] can find" comes from Malise Ruthven in 1990, when Ruthven wrote in The Independent that "authoritarian government, not to say Islamo-fascism, is the rule rather than the exception from Morocco to Pakistan."[6][7] Albert Scardino writes that the term "seems to have appeared first" in a Washington Times piece, in which scholar Khalid Duran used it "as a criticism of hyper-traditionalist clerics."[8] According to the Times, this piece appeared in July 2001”]
So, it’s a meme too, seeing as its bullshit that righties have been pushing for years now, to increase the Fear-Fear-Fear agenda that they used to win elections in the early part of this century.

> "Social-Communist" isn't a meme that I know of any more than "Social
> Democrat" is a meme - "Social Democrat" is the name the Socialists
> GAVE THEMSELVES: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDUSA
Many parties over the years have called themselves Social Democrat or some derivative there-of, there is no issue about that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Democratic_Party

> "Social-Communist Democrat" is more accurate than "Social Democrat"
> because aspects of basic Communism show up in "Social Democrat" plans
> for America...
The Social Democratic party of the US, according to their own website, seem to be the remnants of the Socialist Party of the US (they complain there is another party, the Socialist Party of the US, which split off because they were unwilling to work with the Democratic party, while the Social Democratic party is willing to work with Democrats; however, the Social Democratic Party is NOT the Democratic party, they work with and in the Democratic party
http://www.socialdemocratsusa.org/
> We have no intention of ceding our heritage to self-styled anarchists and revolutionaries. The Social Democrats, USA kept the name Socialist Party for our political arm because we are the party of Eugene Debs, Mother Jones, Helen Keller, Carl Sandburg, Norman Thomas, A. Philip Randolph, Bayard Rustin, and thousands of people who worked to build the civil rights and trade union movements in this country. Many good folks gave their lives in these movements.
The Socialist Party, USA, in 1956, chose to stop running candidates of its own, except on rare occasion. During the 1960's, we began to work in the Democratic Party. This is where our allies in the civil rights and trade union movement worked and continue to work politically. We are proud of what we helped accomplish within the Democratic Party, particularly the civil rights legislation and anti-poverty programs of the the 1960's.”
Heh, “self-styled anarchists and revolutionaries” – they seem to be talking about “Take Back OUR country” Tea-Partiers here, rather than actual socialists.
Anyway, “Social-Communist Democrat” doesn’t seem to exist now as a real party (although it seems to exist as a concept, and in some Civilization-type on-line games), and only inside the mind of deranged righties (like soon to be former Representative Allen West…and idiot poster Patriot Flamer) is the Democratic party “Communist”

> I realize that your Nazi-like tendencies

So what? Are you saying Democrats would never vote for a Republican? Well, not the currently insane bunch of Corporatists, Tea-Partiers, War-Mongers, and other fools you guys ran this year, but Democrats will vote for Republicans when their decent moderates (Hint: Scott Brown was NEITHER, although he’d probably would have been a good example of a hard-right back-bencher if political sanity was restored to the Republican party.

-- OK, Patriot, since you’ve shown yourself in previous posts to be mathematically challenged:
1980 – 32 years ago – also the Election of Ronald Reagan and rise of “Reagan Democrats”
Baby boom starts, eh, 1946, so 1980 – 1946 = oldest Boomer at the time = 34 years old.
Where there people at the time older than 34 who were also Reagan Democrats? Sure; are those people still alive? 32 years ago + 35 years old (or older) = 67 years old, which would be the youngest of the non-Boomer Reagan Democrats, and yep, many are still alive today.
“The Baby Boomers are 100% of the so-called 'Reagan Democrats” = yet ANOTHER BUSTED PATRIOT FALSEHOOD
-- Also, I see Patriot Flamer skipped over this obvious mistake of his:
“Baby Boomers are 100% of the World War I, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans”
Baby Boomers joining the USAAF 2 years before they were born – yeah…

This bizarre bit of spit-feckled hyperbole (especially “ALREADY DEAD”) by Patriot is so ridiculous that I had to, as the Brits say, “take the Piss out of him” by paraphrasing various well known “Death” phrases
The originals, for the humor impaired righties:

-- With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do. Go through his clothes and -- look for loose change – Miracle Max, Princess Bride
> I see dead political beliefs
-- I See dead people – Cole Sear, The Sixth Sense
> Dead Party walking
-- Dead Man Walking, of course (numerous sources)
> I voted GOP in Reno, just to watch it die.
-- I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die – Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash
> YOU KILLED CONSERVATISM – YOU BASTARDS!

According to a report published by the Washington Free Beacon in
April, the 2011 annual report on White House staffers revealed that
the median annual salary for female White House employees was 18% less
than male employees — $60,000 compared with $71,000.

During the 2008 campaign, columnist Deroy Murdock wrote that female
staffers in Obama's U.S. Senate office were also shortchanged.
"Obama's average male employee earned $54,397," Murdock inferred from
Senate salary records. But the future president's "30 female employees
(earned) $45,152, on average."

Sir Gay is an unidentified imposter (sock puppet) and scores 9.4 on
the Faggotry Meter. (Which strongly suggests he is a sock puppet of
Fwanklin Hummer, although others suggest he is a sock of Retardia or
Lickin' Ass.) Sir Gay is mostly a public imbecile, a proven liar and
an ultra-left butthurt faggot.

Oops! Caught lying...

We KNOW FOR A DOCUMENTED FACT that Buckwheat was named in the ISLAMIC
NAMING TRADITION by his father... If his father was a "confirmed
atheist" he would NOT have named BUckwheat after the Islamic naming
tradition...

We KNOW FOR A DOCUMENTED FACT that Buckwheat was enrolled in school as
a MUSLIM... If Buckwheat's father was a "confirmed atheist" and his
stepfather didn't care for religion and his mother was "detached from
religion" they would NOT have enrolled Buckwheat as a Muslim...

I remember this:

Who oppressed Jewish religious freedom in Germany? Nazis.
Who oppressed Christian religious freedom in America? Democrats.

Who consolidated all state security organizations in Germany? Nazis.
Who consolidated all state security organizations in America?
Democrats.

Who censored all media but their own? Nazis.
Who tried to censor and remove Rush Limbaugh from Radio? Democrats.

Who confiscated firearms in Germany? Nazis.
Who confiscated firearms in America? Democrats.

Who banned firearms in Germany? Nazis.
Who banned firearms in America? Democrats.
Who wants to ban firearms in America, again? Democrats.

Now we know who the REAL Nazis are.

Democrats = Nazis.

It's not my fault you're stupid...

The decision to register to vote is far more 'telling' than an actual
vote. Some unknown number of people will vote for "the lesser of two
evils" (or variations thereof) but NOBODY registers to vote for that
purpose. As it happens everybody I knoiw voted for Mitt and NONE OF
THEM actually preferred Mitt as the GOP candidate...

YOU SAID registration was down because of "crap candidates that the
Republican party was running for office" when said registration WOULD
HAVE TO BE DONE BEFORE candidates (and their positions, and the party
platform) were even KNOWN...

> How many dicks have you sucked this weekend, Fwankie?????????

Because you cannot reasonable contradict the truth of what I wrote,
you again resort to one of your standard, emotionally and
intellectually immature personal attacks. You are just so pathetic,
Bobby!

> TELL THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ROTFL!

You want the truth? I'll tell you the truth, you homophobic,
bigotted, racist, self-centered, un-Christian, selfish,
uncompassionate, hate-filled shithead.

But you won't believe it, because your "thinking" is so fucking
twisted and distorted by your willfully-ignorant hate.

Here's one of your vicious quotes, LIAR:

"Possible Fag Butt-Buddy: Arnold D Thomas (Age 52)"

First, you clueless moron, as I and others have told you, you are *2*
years behind in your information, because you wrote that idiotic, cut-
and-paste bullshit years ago and have NEVER bothered to update it.
even though you keep posting it. That makes you a dumbass "PROVEN
LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Second, you lying, xenophobic fool, Mr. Arnold is my *roommate* -- and
nothing more -- and we've lived nearly 21+ years together. A lot of
gay men are far, far less obsessed with sex that YOU are, "Buster",
you supposed-heterosexual. LOL.

"TELL THE TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-- Hysterical, psychotic, SHRIEKING Bob Milby Jr. all
all.

I've been abstinent for nearly 21 years now, Junior, because I want to
be in a committed relationship first.

I hope you gag on the truth, Bob Milby Jr.

P.S. As I told you, Bobby, I just returned to alt.politics for a
while, until the President Elections were over and our President Obama
was re-elected, just so I could watch you go even farther over the
deep end that you already were.

Oh, and Junior, you have not dissappointed me at all with your utter
foolishness!

So, Bobby, I'm gonna be posting a lot less again, esepcially to you,
you fucking waste-of-time, because I have had my satisfication at
seeming you *HUMLIATED* publicly yet once again.

But I will be back come mid-January 2013, when Barack Obama is sworn
in once again as our President for *another* 4 years. Maybe you'll
have a stroke then, Junior.

Real name Fwanklin. Fwanklin is a famous homo. Fwanklin's 15 seconds
of fame came at a Star Trek Convention when he embarrassed the
audience, embarrassed America, embarrassed humanity and embarrassed
Gene Roddenberry by asking why Star Trek didn't have any faggot
characters. Fwanklin, after many beatings, has become just another
cock-slapped usenet zoo monkey. Liars, once they have been exposed,
frequently revert to behavior most similar to a zoo monkey who sits in
the cage throwing feces at passersby but saying nothing of value.
