I thought the debate was basically a tie, which is not good for the
Obama administration. Here's a few of my nitpiks about the debate:

The moderator asked Joe Biden about the situation with the murder of
our ambassador to Libya. Biden laid any blame for not calling the
attack a terrorist attack on the CIA, and then went off on a tangent
completely ignoring the question asked, and instead started talking
about Romney's positions on Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran.

I can understand why Joe wanted to change the subject and I understand
why the moderator, Raddatz allowed him to do so, by not keeping him on
the subject of the question, but I'm sure that if the positions were
reversed and Paul Ryan was having to defend the actions/inactions in
Libya, the moderator would *not* have allowed Paul to change the
subject. She would have held his feet to the fire, like she should
have done with Biden. After all, our ambassador was murdered, and she
would have gotten a detailed answer out of Ryan, but felt no need to
press Biden on the subject.

Paul Ryan failed to mention that under his new medicare plan, people
would be able to choose between the old medicare plan, if they
preferred to stay on it, or they could choose another plan which might
be less expensive than the medicare plan. Biden claimed everyone
would be required to go on a voucher plan, which is false, but was not
refuted by Ryan.

That's about all that comes to mind right now.

Biden gave a good enough performance that the Liberals have something
to hang their hats on for a few days, but Biden really was obnoxious
and I would be surprised if that did not come across loud and clear to
the audience.

I thought Ryan presented himself as competent and he looked like he
belonged at the table with Vice President Joe Biden. Biden tried real
hard to do some damage to Ryan, but I don't think he did any damage at
all. I think Ryan looked calm, reasonable, and polite. A stark
contrast to Biden.

Just a few more weeks and there is a good chance we will be rid of the
charlatans and liars currently occupying the White House. It can't
come too soon for me, or the nation.

Good observations, Tom. What I came away from the VP debate was the thought that how
horrifying it was to discover that the Vice President of the United States was
confirmed as a buffoon. As a matter of fact, after the second Presidential debate I
decided that the President considered himself and some of his answers or lack thereof
cute. I kept waiting for him to tell the television audience that he was just there
to be "eye candy." That was a disappointment....AM
