America's 'working homeless' who live in RV encampments lining
streets across the nation: Small business owners, prison guards
and Amazon workers among people opting to live off the grid -
but locals say they're a blight on their communities
Amid affordable housing shortages, the number of homeless people
in the US continues to climb
. . .
Not all the "homeless" are street bums these days.
RENT and HOUSING SHORTAGES have forced many to the
nomadic life. You CAN work a perfectly good regular
job in a lot of places and STILL not be able to
afford even a piece of an apartment, much less a
real house. It's BAD out there. If you've got
2.4 kids in tow as well it's REALLY BAD.
By reports, the 'rent bubble' IS shrinking - but
not nearly fast enough. Not sure what to do -
an "unrented housing tax" with a bite ? Not in
the capitalist ideal alas, but there are ideals
and then there's reality ......
Oh, and then, a lot of these people are gonna be
displaced by "AI" - won't even be "working" poor
anymore, by no fault of their own.
Well, some further-left elements would LIKE it that
way ... line up every day for the govt cheese (more
likely a packet of soybean goop) - means they've
got you by the short hairs. Object and STARVE.
"Soylent Green" MAY have been prophetic ...
The soybean packet will slowly, surely, get smaller
and smaller since your services are no longer
required. Chat & friends will produce the stats to
justify all of that ...
At the end, two classes - "Masters" and "Slaves"
and no way to change it without EVERYBODY starving.
