The NY Works Agenda focuses on aggressive business development
efforts, in particular:
⢠NY Open for Business, an initiative that will lower the costs of
doing business in New York and improve access to the Stateâs
resources. The program will reduce taxes for new State businesses;
lower New Yorkâs high energy costs through aggressive use of
efficiencies and demand side reductions; reform other cost drivers
like workersâ compensation; get businesses much-needed capital; and
create a new âone-stopâ shop for businesses that provides access to
economic incentives and reduces regulatory delays.
⢠Creation of regional economic development councils that will
review local development plans and award the most comprehensive
proposals with State funding. Led by the Mayor Robert Duffy, who will
serve as Chair of the Upstate Business Advisory Council, the councils
will work with public and private economic development organizations,
institutions of higher education and other stakeholders, the councils
will incentivize programs that:
⢠Get New Yorkers back to work through strategic tax credits such
as the âJobs Nowâ tax credit will attract new businesses that hire
unemployed New Yorkers, and an expansion of the recently enacted
Excelsior program; and
⢠Make our public and private universities jobs generators by
facilitating partnerships between colleges and universities and the
private sector to support an innovation economy and redesigning
technical and career education and workforce development programming.
⢠Create the âRebuild-NYâ Infrastructure Bank to pool and invest in
New Yorkâs critical infrastructure projects that will produce jobs and
improve the Stateâs infrastructure that hampers economic growth.

Press Release Anti-Semitism: USA ADL Calls on Russell Simmons to
Distance Himself from Minister Farrakhan
New York, NY, February 14, 2005 ⌠Reacting to reports that hip-hop
producer Russell Simmons is leading a new effort to raise awareness
about anti-Semitism through a series of celebrity advertisements, the
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) called on Mr. Simmons to publicly
distance himself from Minister Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam
leader whom he has continued to defend despite Farrakhanâs record of
anti-Semitic speeches and rhetoric.
Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following
statement:
While it is important that the public be informed and educated about
the current state of anti-Semitism in the world, it is unfortunate
that one of those promoting this campaign is Russell Simmons. Despite
our meeting and repeated requests over the years, Mr. Simmons has
continued to make apologies for Minister Louis Farrakhan and his long
record of anti-Semitism.
It is hypocritical for Mr. Simmons to lead a charge against anti-
Semitism while failing to denounce manifestations of anti-Jewish
hatred within his own community. As recently as last December, in a
typical conspiratorial diatribe against Jews, Minister Farrakhan said
the war in Iraq was âIsraelâs war.â Yet, we have never once heard Mr.
Simmons make any attempt to denounce Farrakhanâs anti-Semitism.
Instead, he has continued to make excuses for it, or ignore it
entirely.
The fight against anti-Semitism begins at home. Mr. Simmons needs to
immediately and publicly distance himself from Minister Farrakhanâs
hateful rhetoric.
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the worldâs leading
organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that
counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.

ADL Letter to The Huffington Post
Note: This was posted on The Huffington Post blog on May 9, 2005.
May 9, 2005
Russell Simmons offers some highly disturbing thoughts in his piece
criticizing my appeal to Black leaders not to support Louis
Farrakhanâs latest initiative, the Million More Movement.
First, he sees no problem having people who preach hatredâFarrakhan
and Malik Shabazz, continue to spew anti-Semitismâbeing the
centerpieces of an event that supposedly is intended to bring people
together. One wonders how he would react had some White supremacist
organized an event preaching tolerance.
Second, he engages in a blame-the-victim tactic in which he claims
that if I continue to criticize the roles of Farrakhan and Shabazz and
call on Black leaders not to give them legitimacy, that I would be
causing anti-Semitism. One would have hoped that someone who is aware
of racial hatred and hatred of Jews and their origins would not fall
into that trap.
Thirdly, whatever happened to the golden rule? If there were a Jewish
event which was led by an out-and-out racist, I would expect Black
leaders to say to me that ADL should have nothing to do with it. And I
would agree with them, rather than condemn them for their action.
At issue here are two important values. There is the need for good
people to stand up and not give credibility to hatemongers wherever
they appear. And secondly, moderate leaders in every community need to
demonstrate what true leadership is about and not be dragged along by
the demagogues. These are the principles about which we should be
coming together.
Sincerely,
Abraham H. Foxman
National Director

CUOMO MEETS ARAFAT, TOURS GAZA
GAZA CITY - U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo
met with PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat and other Palestinian officials
Friday, and toured housing developments in the Gaza Strip, as he
wrapped up his visit to the region.
Cuomo and Arafat discussed Middle East peace developments and other
issues. Also attending the meeting in Gaza City were Palestinian
Council Speaker Abu Alaâs, Arafat adviser Nabil Abu Rndeinah, Housing
Minister Abdulrahman Hamad, Nablus Mayor Ghassen Shaka, and Minister
Tayyib Abdul Rahim.
âIt is good to see that years of confrontation are being replaced by
negotiation in the Middle East, in hopes of achieving a lasting peace
that will benefit everyone in the region,â Cuomo said.
Cuomo and the Palestinian officials discussed possible future joint
efforts in housing finance and economic development and a trip for
Palestinian officials to come to the United States to learn more about
American practices in these areas.
During his three-day trip to the Middle East, Cuomo met with Israeli
Prime Minister Ehud Barak and signed an understanding with his Israeli
counterpart, Housing and Construction Minister Yitzhak Levi, to create
a Bi-National Commission on Housing and Economic Development.

IT WAS MARIO CUOMO WHO ASKED IN 1990, AFTER SADDAM HUSSEIN
HAD INVADED KUWAIT, "WHY DON'T WE JUST GIVE HIM THE ISLANDS?"
IN REFERENCE TO THE OIL RICH KUWAITI ISLANDS SADDAM HAD SEIZED.
ESSAY; Cuomo on Iraq
November 26, 1990
ESSAY
By William Safire
WASHINGTONâ Like a journalistic Javert, I have been tracking Gov.
Mario Cuomo for months to get his position on countering the threat of
Saddam Hussein. He has ducked.
Last week, a Los Angeles Times reporter showed up at a California
dinner to hear the front-running non-candidate for the Democratic
Presidential nomination say âYou could negotiate something that . . .
leaves them a little bit on the water, leaves them a little bit of the
oil, and then puts in a United Nations task forceâ to monitor chemical
and nuclear weapons capacity.
This time the Governor returned my call, and I had the chance to put
the question in the form of a sad commentary: So, Mario, youâre
handing out rewards for aggression.
âIâm kind of shocked at this report,â he countered. âI saidâand this
was to a private group a week ago, in a q-and-a, nobody knows exactly
what I saidâthat I was supportive of the President up to this point,
but now weâre at a different point, and itâs appropriate for the
President to do more to explain.
âI said Saddam Hussein was a great threat, especially in his eagerness
to use chemical weapons and perhaps his capacity for nuclear
weaponry.â
But did he suggest a settlement?
âTheyâre surely talking,â he pointed out. âIâve met Primakovâhe went
to Baghdad to talk. Surely there are back-channel discussions going
on. What deal did the Saudis get? How did Syria get its money?â
But does he favor a settlement that some of us would consider
appeasement?
âIt would have been presumptuous, naive and stupid of me,â he
countered in his familiar tone of exasperated expectation of being
forever quoted out of context, âto design an exact strategy.
âWe have two categories to consider. One, settlement; two, war. In the
category of settlement, it means that you give something to the other
side. Give âem a little oil, give âem a little port (I did not propose
that as a settlement, just the opposite), but understandâthis man will
not surrender. You cannot make a settlement that gives Saddam Hussein
nothing; therefore, itâs hard to see a settlement.
âIf you presume war,â Mr. Cuomo went on, analyzing but not proposing,
âyou have to ask yourself how long the Arab leaders who are now with
you will stay with you. What are you figuring on, Bill, a three-day
war? You have to assume it will not be short. You cannot escape the
question of a draft.
âIâm not going to raise the fairness question,â he said, raising the
fairness question, âbut Iâd like to hear what the President has to say
about that. I want to think that over.â (The rich-manâs- war, poor-
manâs-fight objection has been raised in support of a military draft
ever since the Civil War.)
Why is the Governor interjecting the idea of a draft?
âIt seems to me if the President is thinking of going to war, heâs
thinking about having a draft. Maybe heâs already rejected it. Could
you have a war without a draft? You canât ask soldiers to fling their
bodies in front of tanks and say âWeâll take our chances on
reinforcements.â What youâre really saying when you consider a draft
is âWe must not close our minds to loss of life.â â
And where does this analysis lead himâto settlement or war?
âI think the President should be open to every reasonable possibility
without killing people and without getting our people killed.â To the
New York Governor, âreasonableâ means an agreement that restores
Kuwaiti sovereignty, insures the oil flow, and âsomething to
obliterate this manâs capacity to use nuclear and chemical agents
against the world,â adding âhopefully without violence.â
But that makes him sound like a hard-liner. If you were Presidentâ
âIâd know a lot more than I know. I donât know how the sanctions are
working, but I have the feeling time is not on our side. The use of a
U.N. force is attractive to me.
âLookâIâm smart enough to say I donât know enough. I have a feeling
about Saddam Hussein, and about war, but to get specificâI canât do
that. Why donât you find some candidates for President and question
them?â
If Mario Cuomo were not a candidate, he would be more outspoken about
todayâs central issue; by raising fears of a draft, he makes the
Presidential decision harder now and easier to criticize later.
Ambivalence has its reasons. If Mr. Bush removes the Saddam Hussein
menace decisively, Mr. Cuomo will stay in Albany; but if a face-saving
deal is arranged, Mr. Cuomo will be electedâand become the first U.S.
President forced to fight a nuclear war.

A Political Hack and Fannie Mae Democrat
By The Prowler on 10.11.10 @ 6:08AM
Republicans on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee are looking for
ways to get incoming National Security Adviser Thomas Donilon before
the committee. âIf you look at his rĂŠsumĂŠ, youâre kind of torn. On the
one hand he was one of the Fannie Mae Democrats who helped create the
financial mess weâre in today and youâd like to hold him accountable,â
says a GOP committee staffer. âOn the other, the man was a press
secretary and chief of staff to a Clinton State Department that has
little to show for itself other than Sen. George Mitchellâs efforts,
and Donilon had nothing to do with that. Maybe we should just let him
go and see how much further into the ditch he can drive Americaâs
foreign policy.â
The National Security Advisor post is not a Senate-confirmable
position. Donilon, who as a member of President Barack Obamaâs
transition team vetted candidates for State Department positions, was
thought to have his eye on a senior post at Foggy Bottom, particularly
since as Deputy National Security Adviser he directed an inter-
governmental âdeputies committeeâ out of the White House. But any
major State Department post would have required Senate confirmation,
and White House sources say that given Donilonâs job at Fannie Mae in
the 1990s and early 2000s, itâs doubtful the Obama team would have
exposed him.
Donilon was executive vice president position at Fannie Mae, and one
of his jobs was directing lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill. âHe was
one of the architects of the strategy to keep the regulators out of
Fannie Maeâs business by putting pressure on them from Congress,â says
a House Financial Services committee staffer. âYou look at all the
reports on the accounting scandals at Fannie Mae in that period of his
leadership and heâs all over the place.â
Donilon not only ate at the Fannie Mae trough like so many Democrats,
he earlier in his career also played a pivotal role in the political
destruction of Judge Robert Bork. As a senior âinformalâ adviser to
then-Senate Judiciary Chairman, Sen. Joseph Biden, Donilon has claimed
credit for advising Biden to aggressively fight Borkâs nomination to
the Supreme Court.
âThe man is a political hack with little to no real foreign policy
experience beyond talking about it,â says a career State Department
official. âHeâs played the game, gone to the Bilderberg conference,
but heâs earned his bones as political operative for the likes of
Biden, Clinton and Dukakis and now Obama. When the best thing anyone
can say about your foreign policy skills is that youâre good
coordinator, it should make people who care about our countryâs
security worried.â
Outgoing National Security Adviser James Jones is believed by many
foreign policy hands to have never fully gained the trust of Obama or
his tight-knit inner-circle. Obama used Jones to help blunt criticism
that his teamâand by extension, heâwas inexperienced in the ways of
foreign policy. Donilon, given his Biden pedigree and his eagerness to
jump from the Biden 2008 presidential campaign to the Obama team after
Biden dropped out, is seen as more of an Obama team player.
http://spectator.org/archives/2010/10/11/a-political-hack-and-fannie-ma/print
From 1999 to 2005 he was a registered lobbyist working for Fannie Mae.
Donilon
has also spent time inside the White House, serving President Clinton
as the
assistant secretary of state for public affairs and as chief of staff
for
Secretary of State Warren Christopher. As such, Donilon oversaw
foreign policy
initiatives, including the Balkan peace negotiations and the expansion
of the
NATO relationship between the US and China.
In his book, Woodward writes that Donilon was the âin-house counsel to
Fannie
Mae, the federally chartered mortgage giant that had nearly gone bust
in the
financial crisis, costing tax-payers billions of dollars.â
Jonesâ successor does not need to undergo Senate consideration, which
would help
Donilon, since Senate questioning could be a problem for a Fannie Mae
graduate.
Nevertheless, according to Woodward, Jones developed a dislike for his
deputy,
who, while a skilled diplomat and hard worker, has never served in the
military,
and again, according to Woodward, Jones did not like the fact that
Donilon has
never visited either Iraq or Afghanistan.
Which suggests, perhaps, given the fact that Emanuel and Donilon are
close
friends, a friendship that led Emanuel to relate more directly to
Donilon than
he did to Jones, Donilon could be named as Obamaâs Chief of Staff, a
position
that does not require Senate conformation.
Which brings us back to the White House Dairy. I was the Carter
campaign
delegate chair for the Illinois delegation at the 1980 Democratic
Nominating
Convention. I had worked closely with a young Tom Donilon, then 24
years old,
who was President Carterâs national delegate director, to select
candidates for
Carter delegates in Illinois.
Tom was the campaignâs final arbitrator on who could run as a Carter
delegate.
We spent many hours at night and on the weekends (I had a day job,
which was not
political) arguing over which Illinois party chairman and which Carter
loyalist
could run as a delegate and which had to be dropped. It was a touchy
job.
When all the elected delegates assembled at the 1980 Convention,
Donilon was the
chief of operations for all Carter delegate voting
Ted Kennedy was still trying to unseat a sitting Democratic president,
right up
to and including the convention, a fight that some observers feel had
a negative
impact on Carterâs general election run against Ronald Reagan.
The Kennedy delegates, under the direction of Harold Ickes, Jr., the
same
advisor who, 28 years later, managed Hillary Clintonâs 2008 delegate
strategy
against Barack Obama, took the 1980 Democratic Convention down to the
final vote
on a delegate rules battle, the âloyal delegateâ issue.
Carter wrote on Monday, August 11, 1980:
Monday evening, the convention began. There were heated debates on the
rules
question. When the vote came, we did better than we had anticipated,
getting
1,935 votesâabout a 700 plus vote over Kennedy. He called me shortly
afterward
to say he was going to withdraw his name from contention. I asked him
if he was
going to to endorse and be on the platform with me Thursday night. He
said that
would depend on how we worked out details of the platform.
Kennedy did issue a belated endorsement, but on the final night of the
convention, he embarrassed the president by stalking around the
platform for an
extended period before finally coming up to Carter to jointly raise
their arms
in the traditional victory signal.
In his Diary, Carter makes no reference to that delayed victory
moment. Instead,
he writes glowingly of the young 24-year-old who had orchestrated his
delegate
victory in the rules fight:
Tom Donilon, a young computer and delegate management expert, did a
superb job.
As he walked through the crowd of people in our command headquarters,
I could
hear them shouting, âDonilon for president!â
Donilon was Fannieâs general counsel and executive vice president for
law and
policy from 1999 until the spring of 2005, a period during which the
company was
rocked by accounting problems,â reports the Wall Street Journal.
Knessetâs Aliyah Committee Demands Apology from Bill Clinton

The Knessetâs Aliyah, Absorption and Diaspora Committee demanded
Wednesday that
former U.S. president Bill Clinton issue an apology to Russian
immigrants in
Israel and to the State of Israel for saying that the immigrant
population tends
to vote for the Right and is an obstacle to peace.
Committee chairwoman Knesset Member Lia Shemtov (Israel Our Home)
said, âClinton
should apologize, especially after the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv
refused even to
send a written reaction to the committeeâs session.â The committee had
invited
U.S. Ambassador in Israel James Cunningham to participate in the
hearing, but he
stayed away and did not send anyone to represent him.
The U.S. Embassy stated in response, âThe administration is not
responsible for
comments made by a private citizen who has a right to speak his mind,
as is
customary in Israel as well.â
Sources in the Knesset noted that the American claim that Clinton is a
private
citizen is belied by the fact that the American government still pays
him a
pension and supplies him with an entourage of assistants, and noted
that Clinton
still represents the United States in various world forums.
âThe Olim {immigrants] from the former Soviet Union are Zionists who
love their
country and want to live their lives in security and peace, like any
other
citizen,â MK Shemtov said. âSome of them have been killed by bullets
fired from
guns that Clinton gave the terrorists.â
MK Marina Solodkin (Kadima) stressed that the immigrants must not
apologize to
Clinton but rather attack him for what he said. She said that only
thing that
will speed up the diplomatic process is the addition of a âcentristâ
party like
Kadima to the coalition.
Dr. Zeâev Khenin, Chief Scientist of the Absorption Ministry, told the
committee
that surveys carried out by the ministry show that Russian immigrants
are not so
different from the rest of the Israeli voter body. Five to seven
percent
describe themselves as leftists, about one third say they are
rightists and the
rest say they are center-right.

Obama's Saudi connection
Wednesday, August 27, 2008
http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/2008/08/obamas-saudi-connection.html
At Townhall.com, Amanda Carpenter unearthed a video in which New York
civil rights activist Percy Sutton, who was Manhattan Borough
President when I was in college in New York City, claims that he was
introduced to Barack Hussein Obama by Khalid al-Mansour and asked to
get Mansour into Harvard Law School. What's more interesting is that
Sutton implies that Obama has received moneys from a man to whom
Mansour serves as an adviser - HRH Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal.
Let's go to the videotape. A partial transcript will follow and then I
will discuss who Mansour and Talal are and why if Sutton is correct
this relationship is so significant.
"I was introduced to him by a friend who was raising money for him and
the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas. He is the
principle adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about
Obama. He wrote to me about him and his introduction was 'there is a
young man that has applied to Harvard and I know that you have a few
friends left there becasue you used to go up there to speak, would you
please write a letter in support of him?'...I wrote a letter in
support of him to my friends at Harvard saying ot them I thought there
was a genius that was going to be available and I sure hoped they
would treat him kindly."
So who is Mansour? Amanda Carpenter has three videos of Mansour (one
of which runs more than an hour and a half) together with her comment.
Mansour is a virulent hater of Jews and Christians and whites
generally, and I urge all of you to watch the videos
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/AmandaCarpenter/2008/08/26/are_khalid_al_mansour_and_obama_friends
of this man who introduced Obama to Percy Sutton. Here's a brief
biography of Mansour:
Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour, Senior Advisor, HRH Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal
Dr. Al-Mansour is an international attorney and businessman and is
renowned as an intellectual, activist, author, and teacher. He co-
founded the law firm of Al-Waleed, Al-Talal, and Al-Mansour and has
served as a director of the Saudi African Bank and the United Bank of
Africa among others.
For those of you who have forgotten who HRH Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal
is, please allow me to remind you. In December 2005, Georgetown
University accepted a $20 million donation from Saudi Prince Alwaleed
Bin Talal Alsaud to expand its Islamic studies department. At the same
time, Harvard accepted a similar $20 million donation. Bin-Talal, a
nephew of the Saudi King, has also donated $5 million to the Carter
Center (former President Dhimmi Carter's think tank). But what most of
you probably remember is that it was Bin-Talal's $10 million gift to
New York City that was declined by then-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani
shortly after 9/11.
What is Obama's relationship to Bin Talal and al-Mansour? I cannot say
for sure. But it seems quite likely that there is one. And that would
be yet another reason to vote against Obama.

Are Khalid al Mansour and Obama Friends?
Email Amanda Carpenter Civil rights activist Percy Sutton said he was
solicited by a man named Dr. Khalid al Mansour to send a letter of
reccomendation on behalf of Barack Obama to help him gain acceptance
to Harvard many years ago. (This video and transcript is at the bottom
of the post),
But who is Khalid al Mansour and how did he know Barack Obama? A
cursory search on Youtube turns up several controversial clips, in the
vein of Obama's longtime friend and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah
Wright. One of these videos is more than an hour long, but I am going
to post here before I watch/transcribe everything in the interest in
getting this into the hands of other bloggers who may know who this
guy is. Here's what I found:
#1 video video, uploaded by someone named IslamStudios, al Mansour
opines on how white Jews and black Jews look
#2 video, uploaded by MuslimbyChoice:
#3 video, uploaded by IslamStudios and titled "Christians Designed
Discrimination:"
Here is the video of Sutton saying al Mansour asked him to help Obama.
In the above video Sutton says: "I was introduced to him by a friend
who was raising money for him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al
Mansour from Texas. He is the principle adviser to one of the world's
richest men. He told me about Obama. He wrote to me about him and his

'Foreign Agent Registration' Law Passes Vote, Leftists Anxious
Published: 10/20/10, 5:49 PM / Last Update: 10/20/10, 5:44 PM
by Gil Ronen
Follow Israel news on and .
The Knesset approved in the first reading Wednesday an Israeli version
of the âForeign Agent Registration Actâ that requires non-governmental
organizations to declare any money that they receive from foreign
state entities. Ultra-leftist groups are very concerned by the bill,
which would hamper the ability of groups supported by the European
Union to operate freely without disclosing whom they are beholden
to.
Twenty-three Knesset Members voted in favor of the bill and 12 opposed
it. The bill now goes to the Law, Constitution and Justice Committee
that will prepare it for the final readings.
The bill was proposed by Coalition Chairman MK Ze'ev Elkin (Likud). It
is a watered-down version of his original bill, that would have taken
away tax-exempt status from bodies that receive aid from foreign
governments.
The bill in its current form requires a body that wishes to receive
funds from a foreign government to register itself as a grantee of
foreign funds with the registrar of non-profit organizations (NPOs, or
'amutot' in Hebrew).
Immediately upon receipt of a financial grant from a foreign state
entity, the grantee must notify the registrar of the sum, its source
and its purpose, as well as any commitments the body has given to the
foreign entity.
If the grantee has an Internet website it must feature this
information prominently upon it. The fact that the grantee received
aid from a foreign state entity must also be featured clearly on any
document it publishes pertaining to political activity. In addition,
the grantee's representatives must state that the grantee receives
foreign aid, in their opening remarks in any political debate or
meeting that is relevant to the purpose for which the aid was given.
The explanatory notes to the bill clarify that it is intended to
increase transparency with regard to the funding of political activity
in Israel by foreign state entities. While NPOs are already required
by law to declare aid they receive from foreign states, such foreign
grants are also given to bodies that are not NPOs, and therefore are
not currently required to report them. The NPOs, too, can circumvent
the requirement by using a third body for transfer of the funds or by
only reporting the aid after a long time has passed, when the report
is no longer relevant.
In addition, the current law does not require a grantee of foreign
state funds to state their status in its documents and in the
political activities it takes part in.
The Association for Civil Rights in Israel, a flagship grantee of the
New Israel Fund, has been campaigning against the bill. ACRI claimed
the bill was superfluous, but if the Knesset does decide it is
necessary, the bill should force disclosure not just of grants from
foreign state bodies, but also of grants from âan individual who is
not an Israeli citizen, an Israeli citizen not residing permanently in
Israel, or from any foreign corporation or other foreign legal
entity.â
This, presumably, is an attempt to hamper the activity of nationalist
groups that receive grants from Jews and other supporters who live
abroad.
Journalist David Bedein, who has been lobbying for the bill for years,
said it was âa great step forward.â He estimated that recent
revelations by grassroots student organization Im Tirtzu about the New
Israel Fund helped awaken Knesset members to the need for such a law.
Bedein said that he had exposed, as early as 2001, that the EU was
funding 40 radical groups within Israel.
The proposed law is based on the US's Foreign Agent Registration Act
that was passed in 1938 to hamper the ability of Nazi Germany to use
American groups in order to further its aims within the US.
(IsraelNationalNews.com)
And that is quite a thought. We know that the nazis used fifth
columnists in America and in Europe. Who are the modern version of the
nazis? Who are the fifth columnists working for those nazis around the
world?
Is President Barack Hussein Obama an unregistered foreign agent?
Is President Barack Hussein Obama a fifth columnist working for the
nazis of the modern era?
Can he be impeached by the US House of Representatives next year on
the grounds of being an unregistered foreign agent?
Recent reports show that there are 99 House seats currently held by
Democrats that are at risk.
Even if the U.S. House of Representatives were to impeach President
Barack Hussein Obama as an unregistered foreign agent could the needed
votes to convict him be obtained in the new U.S. Senate?
How many Democrats would have to cross party lines to convict
President Barack Hussein Obama of the crime of being an unregistered
foreign agent in the U.S. Senate next year?
Your thoughts please.
Chavez: Venezuela Studying Nuclear Program
Published September 28, 2010 | Associated Press
CARACAS, VenezuelaâVenezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Monday that
his
government is carrying out initial studies into starting a nuclear
energy
program.
Chavez brought up the issue during a news conference, saying the South
American
country needs an atomic energy program.
âWeâre taking on the project of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes,
and they
arenât going to stop us,â Chavez said. âWe need it and weâre carrying
out the
first studies.â
Chavez is a close ally of Iran and has defended the Iranian nuclear
program,
saying he is sure Iran is not making atomic weapons in spite of U.S.
and
European suspicions.
He has mentioned plans for an atomic energy program previously. It
remains
unclear how quickly he intends to pursue the program.
Chavez brought up the issue while referring to the case of a physicist
and his
wife in New Mexico who are accused by U.S. authorities of offering to
help
develop a nuclear weapon in contacts with an undercover U.S. agent
posing as a
representative of the Venezuelan government.
âThey detained some scientist professors, I think Argentines, and then
I was
ready to respond when I saw that a government spokesman came out there
saying
that no, no, there is no evidence,â Chavez said.
The U.S. government is not alleging Venezuela or anyone working for it
sought
U.S. secrets in the case.
Chavez brought up the case as an example of some of the claims his
leftist
government has to contend with.
âThey invent so many things,â he said. âThe fact they say there is no
evidence
doesnât mean they arenât going to find it tomorrow, or fabricate
it ... that
Venezuela is making an atomic bomb.â
He called that idea preposterous, saying: âWho in Venezuela could take
on a
project of that type? Who? We arenât going to take it on.â
Donât Stay Silent about Venezuela
By Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld and Rabbi Avi Weiss
On December 2, 2007, Venezuela âs president Hugo Chavez was rebuffed
by voters
when he attempted to amend the constitution giving himself almost
limitless
power. But while he remains in office, the Jewish community of
Venezuela remains
under threat.
On December 1, Hugo Chavezâs police raided a Jewish community center
where nine
hundred Jews, congregants of the Union Israelita Synagogue, were
participating
in a wedding party. Members of the anti-terrorism squad (ironically)
broke down
the front gate and searched the premises. This is the second time
since Chavez
came to power that his police have raided the club. In 2004, they
staged another
raid just as children were being bused to school. Naturally no weapons
were
found and police have declined to provide any explanation for the
search.
Chavez has engaged in a campaign to intimidate any opposition, and the
200-year-old Venezuelan Jewish community is perhaps most vulnerable
because of
Chavezâs deep antipathy towards the State of Israel and his extreme
leftist
policies. More than a year ago, Chavez declared in a Christmas Eve
speech that
âthe world has wealth for all, but some minorities, the descendants of
the same
people that crucified Christ, have taken over all the wealth of the
world.â
Jewish leaders within Venezuela are intimidated. Their community of
15,000 is
small and vulnerable. Exact numbers are hard to come by, but by some
estimates
close to half the community has left the country since Chavez came to
power.
Venzuelaâs Jews are painfully aware of the alliance Chavez has struck
with Iran
âs Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Cuba âs Fidel Castro. On a recent visit to
Washington
D.C. , Gustavo Aristegui, who is the shadow foreign minister in Spain
âs
opposition party, told a group at the Hudson Institute that Hamas and
Hezbollah
are now operating freely in Venezuela .
That Venezuelan Jews are afraid to protest is understandable. But what
can we
say of American Jews? The American Jewish Committee and the Presidents
Conference of Major American Jewish Organizations have not publicly
raised the
issue of Venezuelan Jewry. They reflect the concern that increased
publicity for
this matter can hurt Venezuelan Jewry. Indeed, they have successfully
communicated with Congress not to go public on this issue.
We couldnât disagree more. First, some Jews in Venezuela have told us
privately
that we should speak out publicly on this issue. Indeed, the rabbi of
a leading
congregation in Venezuela told me (AW) in a private meeting held
recently that
while Venezuelan Jewry ought keep a low profile, American Jews must
speak out
publicly on their behalf. Chavez, he insisted, is sensitive to public
opinion,
and public hearings would serve to protect Venezuelan Jewry from
future attacks.
Further, although we understand why some Venezuelan Jewry is silent,
as they are
fearful of a backlash, our responsibility is different. History has
shown that
silence in the face of anti-Semitism just doesnât work. It didnât work
during
the Shoah, it didnât work in the former Soviet Union at the beginning
of the
struggle for Soviet Jewry, it didnât work when the Jews of Argentina
were
frightened to speak out against the Menem government, which was
covering up the
terrorist attack against AMIA, the Jewish Community Center in Buenos
Aires in
1994, and it didnât work when innocent community leaders were arrested
in Iran
in 1999.
What does it say to the world when a government can brazenly paint the
Jews as
enemies of the state and the rest of world Jewryâlet alone the worldâ
remains
silent?
What does it say when the Jewish establishment pressures our own
elected members
of Congress not to speak out publicly on this issue?
Those of us who do not live under Chavezâs rule should be pressing
Congress for
public hearings and a congressional investigation into the security
and
religious freedom of Venezuelan Jewry, as well as the religious
freedom of other
opposition groups in Venezuela.

Rand Paul Victory Poses Risks For Jewish Republicans as Tea Party
Movement
Surges
RJC, in unusual move, opposes Tea Party candidate.
Wednesday, May 26, 2010
James D. Besser
Washington Correspondent
Rand Paul, the Tea Party insurgent who was the upset victor in last
weekâs
Kentucky Republican Senate primary, could be the biggest headache yet
for a
Republican Party that hopes to capitalize on the populist surge
without getting
tainted by the angry movementâs extremists....
even some ardent Jewish Republicans are worried about what they see as
the
political newcomerâs views on U.S. foreign policy and his positions on
issues
such as civil rights. All of which led the Republican Jewish Coalition
to oppose
his candidacy for the nomination and, in an unusual move, to spurn him
now that
he is the partyâs standard- bearer.
âRand Paul is outside the comfort level of a lot of people in the
Jewish
community, and in many ways outside of where the Republican Party is
on many
critical issues,â said Matt Brooks, the RJC executive director, adding
that
leaders of his group worked on behalf of Paulâs primary opponent,
Kentucky
Secretary of State Trey Grayson.
Brooks called Paul a âneo-isolationistâ and pointed to positions like
his strong
opposition to federal legislation barring discrimination by private
businesses,
although after last weekâs storm of controversy he insists he would
not vote to
repeal the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
University of Florida political scientist Kenneth Wald said Paul is
the leading
edge of a Tea Party movement that is âa huge problem pointing right at
the heart
of the Republican Partyâ â and now the most prominent figure in a
churning,
amorphous movement that could badly undermine the partyâs outreach to
Jewish
voters.....
You see a lot of hostility to bankers that may be code text that will
worry the
Jews. Itâs ironic, because this new kind of populism came along just
as Jews
were starting to penetrate the Republican Party organizationally.â
Wald said the GOP faces some difficult choices as it tries to absorb
major
elements of the Tea Party movement without getting tarnished by its
reputation
for extremism and, in some cases, nuttiness â choices that will affect
the
partyâs prospects with Jewish voters and donors alike.
Thatâs clearly the kind of anxiety that has lead the Republican Jewish
Coalition, the central body of Jewish Republicans, to say no to Paul,
at least
for now.
âWe donât write off anybody,â said RJC director Brooks. âBut as it
stands now,
there are just too many questions about Paul. Is he more like [Sen.]
Mitch
McConnell, who has been terrific on Israel â or is he more like Ron
Paul? His
civil rights views are another indication of a tone deafness and a
point of view
that are troubling to a lot of people.â
regarding Rand Paul we suggest that you Google an
article entitled The Many Faces of Amalek
We are glad that the Republican Jewish Coalition has decided
not to fall into lock step (or is it goose step?) with the supporters
of Rand Paul, (or his father Ron Paul for that matter).
The piece excerpted from below entitled
The Conservative Case Against Rand Paul
engages in somewhat wishful thinking regarding
Rand Paul's Democrat opponent. Perhaps the only thing worse
than Rand Paul is Ron Paul. We would like to see the National
Republican Party step in to remove Rand Paul from the ballot.
Failing that if Rand Paul's Democrat opponent would like our
votes we would like to see him switch parties to join the Republican
Party so that if he is elected the Dems will be that much further
away from controlling the US Senate. It may be hard to stop the Dems
from retaining control of the Senate. Getting Rand Paul OFF the ballot
would be a good first step. Don't laugh, in New Jersey
the Dems took Torricelli off the ballot (and Torricelli was the
incumbent Dem US Senator), replaced him with Frank Lautenberge (a
former US Dem Senator) and Lautenberg not only won, he is still in the
US Senate. So nothing is impossible in politics.
The Conservative Case Against Rand Paul
October 4th, 2010
In my more generous moods, I am apt to excuse Kentucky Republicans for
nominating Rand Paul for Senate. To the rank-and-file, he is not a
man, but a symbol: he, like his father, comes out swinging with his
hard-edged libertarianism and veneration of constitutional
originalism. He doesnât mince words for the media like, say, Mitch
McConnell, and heâs never held political office. Heâs proudly angry,
and heâs not in the good graces of Senate Republicans or the
Republican National Committee.
I can sympathize with the discontent of the Tea Party. All that I
listed makes for very compelling abstract symbolism. Unfortunately, we
are not sending a symbol to the Senate.
Rand Paul has hijacked the Tea Party movement to appropriate it to his
familyâs radical brand of libertarianism. Led by Lew Rockwell and
Thomas Woods, two of Ron Paulâs most prominent boosters, the âpaleo-
libertarianâ movement that the Pauls belong to has done a pretty good
job of hiding its fringe elements from the eye of the mainstream media
and the broader public.
Rand Paul has not been as active as his father in this movement, but
from the available evidence, we know that at the very least, he is a
fellow-traveler. Paul is on record as believing in a conspiracy to
create a âNorth American Union,â warning ominously of the imminence of
a new currency called the âamero.â He regularly sits down to chat with
radio talk show host Alex Jones, a man who believes that the United
States government is behind 9/11. Rockwell, infamous for his pro-
Confederate views, has been boosting Rand Paul since the start, and
has sat down to interview him..... No one on the right would â or
should â give Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi a free pass if they allowed a
9/11 Truther to casually interview them about tax policy. Alex Jones,
in between slamming the U.S. government for knocking down the Twin
Towers, calls Rand Paul âreal changeâ in 2010.
We turn, then, to the only viable alternative to Mr. Paul. Jack Conway
is not a particularly compelling candidate, but he is not a radical.
Although he supports Obamacare, he also supports extending the Bush
tax cuts, opposes feckless cap-and-trade measures, and is certainly
stronger on national security issues than Rand Paul, who, in the final
analysis, believes that the United States is an oppressive global
empire which has no business being in Afghanistan â or anywhere else.
Paul, like his father, does not believe in the American exceptionalism
of Ronald Reaganâs variety. Indeed, he doesnât even share the views of
Sharron Angle. Paulâs America â one without NAFTA, one in which the
Federal Reserve magically disappears overnight, one in which America
retains no global military presence â is utterly oblivious to the
economic and military realities of the 21st century. It is oblivious
to the changes that globalization is demanding of us and it is
oblivious to the military and cultural threats of Islamic fanaticism.
More saliently, it is completely oblivious to the practicalities that
cultural change demands. One canât even make the argument that I
should hold my nose and support Paul on the basis that heâll be a vote
for most Republican legislation. If heâs truly a Mini-Me clone of his
father â which he appears to be â then heâll oppose most of the
partyâs legislation, anyway! At least with Conway, who seems to
resemble Ben Nelson more than Barbara Boxer, weâd retain a fighting
chance of winning his vote on crucial legislation. Ron Paul, with his
exhaustive history of making the perfect the enemy of the good, has
proven to be totally useless where it counts. At the heart of
everything, Rand Paul, like his father, is an ideologue, and the rules
of Congress do not cater to ideologues.
Because of Rand Paulâs ideological rigidity, we face this reality: no
matter who wins in Kentucky in November, the Republicans have lost a
key vote on many major issues. We should at least honor sanity by
sending the man to Congress who doesnât affiliate himself with anti-
American conspiracy theorists.

Are Foreign Donations Powering the Obama Campaign?
Rick Moran
Just how much in donations from foreign countries is pouring into the
Obama
campaign coffers is a question one FEC auditor would like to have
answered. The
problem is that evidently, his bosses at the FEC are refusing to move
on the
charges which would almost certainly require them to ask the Justice
Department
and the FBI to look into the matter. This would, their reasoning goes,
take on
the appearance of a âcriminal investigationâ and would impact the
coming
election.
The anonymous investigator (who wonât reveal his name for fear of
retribution)
says that âI canât get anyone to move. I believe we are looking at a
hijacking
of our political system that makes the Clinton and Gore fundraising
scandals
pale in comparison. And no one here wants to touch it.â
The American Spectatorâs Washington Prowler writes:
The analyst, who declines to be identified for fear of retribution,
says that on
four different occasions in the past three months, he sought to open
formal
investigations into the Obama campaignâs fundraising techniques, but
those
investigations have been discouraged. âWithout formal approval, I
canât get the
resources I need, manpower, that kind of thing. This is a huge
undertaking.â And
the analyst says that he believes that campaign finance violations
have
occurred.
The Obama campaign has already had to deal with several FEC complaints
about
fraudulent donors and illegal foreign contributions, and the FEC says
it has no
record that those complaints have been resolved or closed. As well,
the Obama
campaign has been cagey at times about the means by which it has made
its
historic fundraising hauls, which now total almost $500 million for
the election
cycle. The Hillary Clinton campaign raised questions about the huge
amount of
e-retail sales the Obama campaign was making for such things as t-
shirts and
other campaign paraphernalia, and how such sales were being tracked
and used for
fundraising purposes. While the profits of those items counted against
the
$2,300 personal donation limit, there have always been lingering
questions about
the e-retail system.
âThe question has always been, if you buy a $25 t-shirt and you go
back to that
purchaser eight or nine times with email appeals for $200 or $500
donations, and
you have people donating like that all the time, at what point does
the campaign
bother to check if the FEC limit has been exceeded?â says a former
Clinton
campaign fundraiser. âThere are enough of us from the 1992 and 1996
and 2000
races around to know that many of these kinds of violations never get
caught
until after the election has been won or lost.
Obama was forced to return $33,500 to a pair of Palestinian brothers
who bought
T-Shirts on the campaignâs website - a clear violation of FEC rules
and the law.
The campaign claims to have returned the money but the brothers deny
they have
received a refund. There have also been numerous questions about other
donations
that appear to come from the Middle East - not surprising given
Obamaâs
connections to Tony Rezko (whose Middle East connections are
mindblowing),
Nadhmi Auchi, and other wealthy Arabs who might see an Obama
presidency in a
favorable light.
Then there was the curious case of a supposedly home grown video that
was
produced by a PR firm in Los Angeles owned by a huge, left wing,
French media
conglomerate. The money for the film and for the PR firm evidently
came from
Europeans.
There is little doubt that foreigners are licking their chops at the
prospect of
an inexperienced, naive, weak American president who will subsume
American
interests and cater to the whims of the UN while deferring the big
questions to
the Europeans. This isnât even taking into account Obamaâs strange
policy toward
Israel (where he says one thing but all his advisors say exactly the
opposite)
and the belief among Muslims that because he grew up in Indonesia, he
will not
be as forceful in prosecuting the war on terror.
There are dozens of reasons foreigners are pulling for Obama to win.
There is
little doubt that money from overseas is pouring into the Obama
campaign.
And it is a dead certainty that the FEC wonât do a damn thing about it
until
after the election.

Strange Fruit
Thugs in bow-ties
By Lillian Ickowicz
The Fruit of Islam is the Nation of Islamâs official security force,
better
known as its paramilitary wing. In 1992, William/Abdul Sharieff
Muhammad,
âSupreme Captainâ of the Fruit of Islam, told the Final Call, official
newsletter of the NOI, âWe have a military structure that we train our
men
into.â This âstructureâ provides security at all major NOI functions,
guards
Minister Farrakhan âs mansion and also provides personal security to
the
Minister at his frequent public appearances, including his weekly
appearance at
the Mosque Maryam, the NOIâs main mosque in Chicago .
In addition to the Fruit of Islam security corps, it is alleged that
the NOI
controls a highly organised security empire comprising some eight
different
businesses, responsible for patrolling state-funded housing projects.
According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the
Housing
Authority of Baltimore and the Chicago Housing Authority, NOI-related
security
firms have conducted operations in Baltimore , Buffalo , Chicago ,
Dallas ,
Dayton , Los Angeles , Philadelphia , Pittsburgh , New York City and
Washington
. Although established as individual entities and incorporated
separately, NOI
officials have acknowledged that the security firms operate under the
direction
and control of Farrakhan and his lieutenants. A 1995 Anti-Defamation
League
report, Federal Funds for NOI Security Firms: Financing Farrakhanâs
Ministry of
Hate, stated that the NOI official who heads both NOI Security Agency
Inc. and
the NOIâs Fruit of Islam, implied that security firmsâ proceeds
benefit
Farrakhan and the NOI.
Supporters of the security businesses hail them as saviours of the
often
dangerous inner-city public housing projects and an example of the
NOIâs more
virtuous works. The bow-tied soldiers often come out of the
counselling programs
run by the NOI for prisoners, drug addicts and dealers and gang
members. The
fact that the organisations are staffed by ex-criminals is extolled as
one of
the virtues of the NOIâs rehabilitation programs. (According to the
ADL, two NOI
security firms alone have hired at least 39 convicted criminals).
Vincent Lane,
Chicago Housing authority chairman told Time magazine in 1994, âIâve
seen what
black Muslims have done with hardened criminals - they go into the
penal system
and work with these young men, so when they come out they are no
longer on drugs
and respect their women and neighbours.â In recent years however, the
security
firms have come under US government scrutiny stemming from one major
bankruptcy,
substantial federal and state tax liens, reports of violent incidents
in a
number of States and a general lack of cooperation with State police
forces.
According to the ADL, NOI security contracts and income to 1995
totalled more
than US$19m. The possibility that government funds, in the form of
contracts
with NOI security firms, are filtered to the NOI and used for racist,
anti-Semitic ... proselytising raises serious concerns. Ken Stern of
the
American Jewish Congress argues that, âThe fact these firms perform a
quasi-law
enforcement function at public housing projects clothes the guardsâ
abuse of
their authority - beating private citizens and assaulting police
officers -
[amounts to] not only âcondoned vigilantismâ but vigilantism on the
taxpayersâ
tab. The public would never stand for hiring a security firm run by Ku
Klux Klan
leaders.â Many violent incidents have been reported at housing
projects
patrolled by NOI security firms. According to the ADL, Baltimore
witnesses
witnessed guards fracturing a public housing residentâs skull, while
in Dallas ,
NOI guards allegedly kidnapped unruly youths from a shopping mall and
forced
them to run naked through a gauntlet of NOI men who beat them with
belts and
bamboo canes.
Another concern stemming from the indirect government sponsorship of
NOI
security firms is that they have been found disseminating the NOIâs
racist hate
literature, and attempting to recruit future NOI members. In 1994, US
News &
World Report recounted how guards and supervisors at one public
housing project
in Baltimore sold tenants copies of the NOI newspaper the Final Call,
distributed free tickets to Farrakhan appearances and gathered small
groups of
young tenants urging them to join the NOI.
The security firms have also been plagued by incidents characterised
as
vigilantism, particularly the use of excessive force, intimidation and
a lack of
cooperation with police. Sgt Lou Cannon of the Washington Fraternal
Order of
Police argued that NOI guards rarely notify police of an incident and
the police
âhave had to arrest several security officers who went way over the
line with
physical restraintâ. On the methods used by NOI security, Cannon
states, âif Iâd
done them Iâd be up on charges for excessive force and brutality. If
law
enforcement tried to use those tactics, weâdâve been fired from our
jobs and
lucky if we didnât go to jail.â In Baltimore in 1995, four NOI guards
beat a man
unconscious with their flashlights until pulled away by witnesses. The
man had
been trying to gain entry to the housing high-rise. One of the guards
was
indicted on charges of attempted murder, assault, assault with intent
to murder
and use of a deadly weapon.
This physical aggression has also been used against members of the
police force.
In 1995, a NOI security guard was convicted in DC of assaulting a
police officer
during a confrontation between residents and guards at a housing
project. The
police officer had apparently attempted to arrest a NOI guard when a
second
guard interrupted them, kicking the officer in the jaw, and breaking
it in two
places before attempting to take the officerâs gun.â

âIt was the Fruit of Islam that guarded Jesse Jackson in the 1984
presidential
campaign before the Secret Service took over. In April , Farrakhan
warned the
Democratic Party that if Jackson âs demands were not taken seriously
at the
national convention, he would âlead an army of black men and women to
Washington
, D.C. and we will . . . negotiate for a separate state or territory
of our
own.â Farrakhanâs statements about Hitler , Israel , and Judaism
continue in the
anti-Semitic tradition begun by Elijah Muhammad .â

Most politicians try to keep their financial backers un-indicted until
after the
election. But Obamaâs biggest early sponsor, dual U.S.-Syrian citizen
Antoin
âTonyâ Rezko, is already indicted by a federal grand jury. Now he is
going to
trial in a Chicago federal court.
Rezko, along with co-defendants Ali Ata and Abdelhamid Chaib , face
federal
grand jury charges presented in October 2006 by the U.S. Attorney for
Northern
Illinois , Patrick Fitzgerald . The case centers on allegations of
fraud
between 2000 and 2004 in the sale of 17 Papa Johns â Pizza parlors in
Detroit ,
Chicago and Milwaukee . The case may begin with pizza, but it leads
to Europe,
Syria , Iraq , and the UN Oil for Food program.
Fitzgerald is the prosecutor who won perjury convictions against Vice
President
Cheney âs Chief of Staff, Scooter Libby, in March, 2007. Chaib is an
officer of
several of Rezkoâs restaurant chains including Chicagoland Panda
Express
franchises. Ata was appointed Executive Director of the Illinois
Finance
Authority by Illinois â Democratic Governor, Rod Blagojevich. Ata was
also a
former president of the Chicago Chapter of the American Arab Anti-
Discrimination
Committee, and had a financial interest in Rezkoâs restaurants. Ata
reportedly
donated as much as $60,000 to Blagojevich and $5000 to Obama. Rezko
reportedly
raised as much as $500,000 for Blagojevich and at least $70,000 for
Obamaâs
various campaigns.
Arab American Media Services reports: âIn 1997, Panda Express won the
right to
open a lucrative concession at OâHare International Airport under the
cityâs
Minority Set-Aside program which directs large contracts to companies
owned by
Women, African Americans or Hispanics. The city awarded a 10-year
contract for
OâHare Airport to Crucial Inc. in 1999, which the city believed was
owned by an
African American, Jabir Herbert Muhammad , the son of the late Elijah
Mohammad
.â
Elijah Mohammad led the Nation of Islam until his death in 1975.
Jabir Herbert
Muhammad was sued in 1999 by boxer Muhammad Ali for unauthorized use
of his name
in connection with the Muhammad Ali Foundation. Rezko served as
Executive
Director of the Foundation.
According to the Associated Press, â U.S. District Judge Amy J. St.
Eve jailed
Rezko Jan. 28, saying he had disobeyed her order to keep her posted on
his
financial status. Among other things, he failed to tell her about a
$3.5
million loan from London-based Iraqi billionaire Nadhmi Auchi â a loan
that was
later forgiven in exchange for shares in a prime slice of Chicago real
estate.
Rezko gave $700,000 of the money to his wife and used the rest to pay
legal
bills and funnel cash to various supporters.â
According to the ChicagoTribune December 24:
RezkoâŚbegan cultivating a friendship with Obama around 1990, becoming
a key
fundraiserâŚ.
In June 2005, even as Rezko was widely reported to be under federal
investigation, the Tribune reports, âObama bought a $1.65 million
South Side
home on the same day that Rezkoâs wife purchased the adjoining garden
lot for
$625,000. Obama and Rezko then engaged in a series of private
transactions to
redivide and improve their adjoining parcels.
The Times of London has uncovered âstate documents in Illinois
recording that
Fintrade Services, a Panamanian company, lent money to (an) Obama
fundraiser in
May 2005. Fintradeâs directors include Ibtisam Auchi , the name of Mr.
Auchi âs
wife. Mr. Auchi âs spokespeople declined to respond to a question
about whether
he was linked to this business.â
Auchi, an Iraqi Chaldean Christian, was a life-long Baâathist who had
been
charged with supplying a machine gun for Saddamâs 1959 failed attempt
to
assassinate then-Iraqi Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qasim . As Saddamâs
Baath
party took power, Auchi prospered. He went to work for Saddamâs
Ministry of Oil
in 1967. He rose to be Saddamâs Oil Ministry Director of Planning and
Development before leaving Iraq in 1979. His brother was apparently
killed by
Saddamâs regime as were family of many high-ranking Baathists. But
there are
also claims that Auchi continued secretly working for Saddamâs
intelligence
services. What is certain is that Auchi prospered mightily collecting
âcommissionsâ on sale of weapons and other goods to Iraq in the 1980s
and 1990s.
Living in the UK , he is now listed as Britainâs 13th-richest man.
Auchi held an interest in the French banking giant PNB Paribas through
his
General Mediterranean Holdings company. According to the New York
Times, âAs
recently as 2001, General Mediterranean Holdings described itself in
an annual
report as one of largest single shareholders in BNP Paribas.â Until
2001 Saddam
insisted that all âOil for Foodâ paymentsâ$13 billion dollarsâwould
pass through
Banque Nationale de Paris which in 2000 merged with Paribas to become
PNB
Paribas. Auchi has played a role in PNB since the late 1970s. Saddam
used Oil
for Food fraud to channel millions of dollars to heads of state,
activists,
terrorists, and journalists who then returned the favor by backing
Saddam when
the US finally invaded Iraq .
In 2003, Auchi was convicted in France for receiving about $100
million in
illegal commissions as part of a scandal involving the French oil
giant ELF
Aquitane . The UK Guardian termed the scandal, âthe biggest fraud
inquiry in
Europe since the Second World War. Elf became a private bank for its
executives
who spent ÂŁ200 million on political favours, mistresses, jewelery,
fine art,
villas and apartments.â
Auchiâs General Mediterranean Holdings financed a 250 megawatt power
plant in
the Kurdish town of Chamchamal, Iraq along with Rezko and Iraqâs
former Minister
of Electricity (and Chicago resident), Aiham Alsamarrae.
Returning in 2003 to post-Saddam Iraq , Alsamarrae had been made
Minister of
Electricity under the occupation government of Paul Bremer .
Alsamarrae escaped
âthe Chicago wayâ from the Green Zone in December, 2006 after being
held for
four months in relation to a $2 billion Iraqi reconstruction
corruption case.
He is now living in his Chicago mansion.
Writing in Human Events, John Batchelor reports on another
Alsammarae-Obama-Rezko connection:
ââŚin April 2005, one month before Mr. Alsammarae left his post, his
Ministry of
Electricity signed a contract for $50 million with Companion Security
to provide
training to Iraqis to guard electrical plants by flying them to
Illinois for
classes.
âCompanion Security was headed by a former Chicago policeman with a
troubled
history, Daniel T. Frawley , in partnership with Mr. Rezko and in
association
with Daniel Mahru , the lawyer for the original contract and Mr. Rezko
âs former
business partner. In April 2006, Mr. Frawley entered negotiations with
Governor
Rod Blagojevich âs staff to lease a military facility in Illinois to
be a
training camp. In August 2006, Mr. Frawley started negotiations with
Mr. Obama
âs U.S. Senate staff to complete the contractâŚ.
âThe timeline of Companion discussions in 2006 is important to note:
April 2006
Frawley speaks to governorâs office; August 2006 Frawley speaks to
senatorâs
office; October 2006 indictment of Rezko revealed; October 2006 Rezko
arrested
upon return from Syria; October 2006 Alsammarae convicted in Baghdad
and makes
his first escape attempt; December 2006 Alsammarae escapes from
Baghdad. âŚ
â(In 2004) Mr. Auchi traveled by private aircraft to Midway Airport in
Chicago
and then to a fete at the Four Season Hotel, where he met with his
business
partner in Chicago real estate, Mr. Rezko , as well as with Illinois
Governor
Rod Blagojevich . Also present that night, according to a fresh report
by James
Bone and Dominic Kennedy of the London Times, was State Senator Barack
Obama,
who had recently won the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate
seatâŚ.â
Jay Stewart of the Better Government Assn. in Chicago told the LA
Times:
âEverybody in this town knew that Tony Rezko was headed for trouble.
When he
got indicted, there wasnât a single insider who was surprised. It was
viewed as
a long time coming. . . .Why would you be having anything to do with
Tony Rezko
, particularly if youâre planning to run for president?â

Wright & Obama Helped Organize March With Louis Farrakhan
Earlier this week it was reported that Barack Obama marched with Louis
Farrakhan
in Washington DC:
Obama took time off from attending campaign coffees to attend
Octoberâs Million
Man March in Washington, D.C. His experiences there only reinforced
his reasons
for jumping into politics.
But thatâs not all...
In 1995, Barack Obama helped organize the Million Man March in
Washington with
anti-Semite and America-hating racist Louis Farrakhan:
In 1995, along with other prominent black leaders such as Al Sharpton
and Barack
Obama, Farrakhan helped lead the Million Man March on Washington. A
second
march, called the Millions More Movement, took place in 2005.
And... His âfather figureâ and mentor Jeremiah Wright, a former Muslim
and black
nationalist, joined him:
Mr. Wright helped organize the 1995 Million Man March on Washington.
Michael Goldfarb has more on the Million Man March and Obama.â

Here are pictures of Barack Obama arm in arm with the same living and
unrepentent racist and anti-Semite who personally called the owner of
Freddyâs
Fashion Mart a âwhite interloperâ while referring to the Jews of Crown
Heights
as âdiamond merchants.â Sharptonâs mob, meanwhile, yelled âKill the
Jews!â as
one of its members knifed Yankel Rosenbaum to death. This suggests
that Obama
does not like Jews, and it is quite likely (given his alleged
connections with a
Black separatist minister) that he does not like white Gentiles
either.
To put matters another way, how would most African-Americans feel if a
white
candidate appeared in the following context with the Ku Klux Klanâs
David Duke
or the White Aryan Resistanceâs Tom Metzger? They would probably
conclude that
said candidate was a white supremacist and a racist, and they would
almost
certainly be right.
Barack Obama with his arm around a prominent racist and anti-Semite.
Barack Obama with the Black clone of the Aryan Nationsâ Tom Metzger.
(YouTube
video of Al Sharpton and Tom Metzger.) Sharptonâs hate speech, like
Metzgerâs,
was indirectly responsible for fatal acts of violence.
No one is interested in Clintonâs, Obamaâs, or the other candidatesâ
excuse that
âwe need the Black vote.â Racist and anti-Semitic demagogues appeal
universally
to the absolute dregs of the societies they claim to represent. Duke
and Metzger
appeal to the lowest class of Caucasian Gentile. Al Sharpton similarly
appeals
to Black people who, if they woke up one day to find that they had
become white
people, would be cutting holes in their pillowcases and trying on
sheets by
noon. By nightfall, they would be burning crosses, lynching Negroes,
and
firebombing Black churches the way Sharptonâs people burned Freddyâs
Fashion
Mart. If that is the kind of âBlack voteâ that Hillary Clinton and
Barack Obama
want, then no decent American of any race or ethnicity should want any
part of
them.
We recall Coleridgeâs âRime of the Ancient Mariner,â and it appears as
though
Barack Obama has hung the Sharpton-tross, stinking to high heaven of
racist and
anti-Semitic hate speech along with the Tawana Brawley scandal, around
his own
neck:
âNeither party should be defined by pandering
to the outer reaches of American politics
and the agents of intolerance
whether they be Louis Farrakhan or Al Sharpton
on the left, or Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell on the right.â

Obama Organized Farrakhanâs âMillion Man Marchâ
April 2nd, 2008 ⢠34 Comments
Democrat presidential front-runner Barack Obama not only marched with
Nation of
Islam Founder Louis Farrakhan in the first Million Man March on
Washington ,
D.C. , but he helped organize the 1995 event!
The âhe marchedâ claim was reported in a 1995 Chicago Reader article
and brought
back to the attention of the blogosphere March 29 by Hugh Hewitt. The
new
revelation, however, was unearthed today by Gateway Pundit.
Buried 13 years deep inside the archives at Biography.com, the
biography of
Farrakhan includes this statement:
In 1995, along with other prominent black leaders such as Al Sharpton
and Barack
Obama , Farrakhan helped lead the Million Man March on Washington . A
second
march, called the Millions More Movement, took place in 2005.
In case you donât remember â or werenât around yet â for the 1995
effort, the
most-memorable thing about it was the controversy over crowd-size
estimates.
March organizers at the time estimated the crowd size at between 1.5
and 2
million people while the United States Park Police officially
estimated the
crowd size at 400,000, according to the Wikipedia entry about the
event.

âArab-American Activist
Says Obama Hiding Anti-Israel Stance 17 Adar Bet 5768, 24 March 08
by Gil Ronen (IsraelNN.com) Democratic presidential hopeful
Sen. Barack Obama is currently hiding his anti-Israel views in
order to get elected, according to a well-known anti-Israel
activist.
The activist, Ali Abunimah , claimed to know Obama well
and to have met him on numerous occasions at pro-Palestinian events
in Chicago . In an article he penned for the anti-Israeli website
Electronic Intifada, Abunimah wrote: âThe last time I spoke to
Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago âs Hyde
Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to
secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat
he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.
â Ashe came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet
him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, âHey, Iâm sorry I
havenât said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough
primary race. Iâm hoping when things calm down I can be more up
front.â He referred to my activism, including columns I was
contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US
policy [and said:] âKeep up the good work!ââ Barack, Michelle ,
Edward and Mariam Abunimah âs report included a photo of Obama with
his wife Michelle seated at a table with virulently anti-Israeli
Professor Edward Said and his wife Mariam, in what Abunimah said
was a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago at which Said gave
the keynote speech. In an interview earlier this year for the
leftist radio show âDemocracy Now!,â a daily TV and radio news
program hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez , Abunimah said he
knew Obama for many years as his state senator âwhen he used to
attend events in the Palestinian community in Chicago all the
time.â
âI remember personally introducing him onstage in 1999, when
we had a major community fundraiser for the community center in
Deheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank ,â he
recounted. âAnd thatâs just one example of how Barack Obama used to
be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with
Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation.â About
face âto get electedâ The Arab-American activist went on to say: âIn
2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak
at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago
professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his
criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to
the Palestinian- Israeli conflict.â
âObamaâs about-face is not
surprising,â Abunimah wrote. âHe is merely doing what he thinks is
necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as
it keeps him in power.â When Obama first ran for the Senate in
2004, the Chicago Jewish News interviewed him on his stance
regarding Israel âs security fence. He accused the Bush
administration of neglecting the âIsraeli- Palestinianâ situation
and criticized the security fence built by Israel to prevent terror
attacks: âThe creation of a wall dividing the two nations is yet
another example of the neglect of this Administration in brokering
peace,â Obama was quoted as saying.â
The item below is excerpted from: âObama and the
Jews Jewish intellectuals blinded by Obama-mania, fail to see his
flaws Sever Plocker The paralysis that overcame American Jewry in
the face of the Barack Obama phenomenon is pitiful and prompts sad
thoughtsâŚ. he grew up, was educated, and internalized values in an
environment that is hostile to the Jews and to Israel - and also to
America, as it turns out. About two months ago already,
starting with political blogs, stories were published that detailed
the hateful anti-Israel sermons delivered by Jeremiah Wright ,
Obamaâs pastor in Chicago . And he is not just a pastor: Wright is
the closest person to Obama, as the candidate himself admitted in
his books. He is his spiritual father, his guide, his model.
Wrightâs extreme anti-Semitic words have been well documented, yet
the vast majority of Jews preferred to ignore them.
Obama supporters... did not demand that he
sever his ties with Wright. Here and there we saw weak articles of
reservations that were nonetheless filled with words of flattery.
.... intellectuals continued to keep their sense of
criticism paralyzed. Then someone uploaded a video clip to
YouTube that shows Pastor Wright cursing not only the Jews, but
also America itself, calling on G-d to destroy it, and with a
theatrical voice and hand gestures charging that the American
government spread the AIDS virus in order to kill blacks and
planned the September 11 attacks itself. Obama rushed to respond
only after these horrifying sermons became publicly availableâŚ.
Obama presented his defense of⌠Wright . To that end, Obama used
three infamous demagogical arguments, starting with the reasoning
of victimization and discrimination. Wrightâs âcomments were not
only wrong but divisiveâ and âexpressed a profoundly distorted view
of this country âObama said, yet at the same time they also
reflected the honest fury of blacks in America, who have been the
victims of discrimination for hundreds of years. Authentic
representative of black minority The second line of reasoning was
about character: ⌠Wright, Obama said, is a man of noble character,
warm, embracing, and people- loving. He has some opinions that are
wrong (Obama did not detail which opinions those are) yet Wright
himself should not be disqualified. Actually, he is one of us.
In his third and decisive line of reasoning, Obama admitted that âI
can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can
no more disown him than I can my white grandmother a woman who once
confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street.â
That is, the grandmother who is secretly scared of black men was
presented by Obama as the moral equivalent of the pastor who openly
preaches hatred for Israel and America âs destruction, and
both âthese people are a part of me they are a part of America ,
this country that I love.â

Obamaâs Pastor: Product of Privilege, Not Poverty
March 24, 2008
OpEd Morton A. Klein 917 974 8795 or 212 481 1500
The whole world now knows that for nearly 20 years, Senator Barack
Obama has attended Chicago âs Trinity United Church and that his
pastor is Rev. Jeremiah Wright . In his speech on race on March 18,
Senator Obama criticized some of Rev. Wright â statements but also
essentially excused and rationalized Wrightâs sermons. He summarized
the reality for many African-Americans growing up in past decades â
inferior, segregated schools; discrimination; lack of economic
opportunity, inability to provide for oneâs family â before
stating, âThis is the reality in which Reverend Wright and other
African-Americans of his generation grew up.â Half right. African-
Americans suffered, many even horrifically, in the past. But Rev.
Wright was not one of them.
How do I know?
It happens that, as a Philadelphian, I attended Central High School â
the same public school Jeremiah Wright attended from 1955 to 1959. He
could have gone to an integrated neighborhood school, but he chose to
go to Central, a virtually all-white school. Central is the second
oldest public high school in the country, which attracts the most
serious academic students in the city. The school then was about 80%
Jewish and 95% white. The African-American students, like all the
others, were there on merit. Generally speaking, we came from
lower/middle class backgrounds. Many of our parents had not received
a formal education and we tended to live in row houses. In short,
economically, we were roughly on par.
I attended Central a few years after Rev. Wright , so I did not know
him personally. But I knew of him and I know where he used to live â
in a tree-lined neighborhood of large stone houses in the Germantown
section of Philadelphia . This is a lovely neighborhood to this day.
Moreover, Rev. Wright âs father was a prominent pastor and his mother
was a teacher and later vice-principal and disciplinarian of the
Philadelphia High School for Girls, also a distinguished academic
high school. Two of my acquaintances remember her as an intimidating
and strict disciplinarian and excellent math teacher. In short, Rev.
Wright had a comfortable upper-middle class upbringing. It was hardly
the scene of poverty and indignity suggested by Senator Obama to
explain what he calls Wrightâs anger and what I describe as his
hatred.
In recent days, we have seen clips of several of Rev. Wrightâs
sermons, showing him declaring âG-d Damn America,â blaming America
for intentionally creating the drug problem, for creating the AIDS
virus, for supporting Israeli âstate terrorism against Palestinians,â
for being responsible for causing 9-11, for being white supremacist
and racist and for intentionally keeping people in poverty.
We have also learned that, last year, Rev. Wrightâs Church honored
with a lifetime achievement award Nation of Islam leader, Louis
Farrakhan, who has said that âJudaism is a gutter religion,â
that âHitler was a very great manâ and that âwhite people are
potential humans, they havenât evolved yet.â In fact, Rev. Wright
accompanied Farrakhan in the 1980s on a visit to Muammar Gaddafi âs
Libya , which was then illegal under U.S. law. Nevertheless, the
Church and Wrightâs successor as pastor, Rev. Otis Moss III , have
issued a statement defending and praising Wright, while completely
ignoring Wrightâs horrific statements.
One can excuse anger, but no one should rationalize hatred. That is
why the Zionist Organization of America, of which I am national
president, believes that it is insufficient to simply disagree with
the views of hateful race supremacists â it is necessary to
disassociate from them.
Imagine for a moment if a white candidate for high office attended
for 20 years a church led by a white supremacist pastor who railed
regularly against blacks and accused them of bringing down
civilization. Imagine if he honored neo-Nazi David Duke with a major
award. Imagine if, when these facts emerged, the candidate said he
disagreed with and criticized the pastorâs statements, while also
saying he was largely unaware of them. Imagine that he also tried to
rationalize these views by referring to the anger felt by
impoverished whites even though the pastor himself actually grew up
in comfortable circumstances. Imagine also that his pastor retired
amid the praises of his congregants and successor, but that the
candidate refused to quit the church while continuing to praise the
pastor for his good works helping poor whites. His criticism of the
pastor would hardly suffice.
This is the situation Senator Obama now faces. I make no judgment on
why he joined and stayed with Rev. Wright and his church, although I
am deeply concerned that he did so. I worry too that Senator Obama
didnât feel strongly enough about Rev. Wright âs words to leave the
Church earlier. These are legitimate concerns, widely shared in the
country today. Senator Obama would be doing the right thing and
reassuring the American public in the process that he will not
tolerate hate, divisiveness and anti-Americanism by quitting the
Church.

The Mansourian Candidate ?
Obama Had Close Ties to Top Saudi Adviser at Early Age
Sept. 4th 2008 c.e. âŚ.(YNET) New evidence has emerged that Democratic
presidential candidate Barack Obama was closely associated as early as
age 25 to
a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding
members of
the Black Panthers. In a videotaped interview this year on New York âs
all news
cable channel NY1, a prominent African-American businessman and
political figure
made the curious disclosures about Obama. Percy Sutton, the former
borough
president of Manhattan , off-handedly revealed the unusual
circumstances about
his first encounter with the young Obama. âI was introduced to Obama
by a friend
who was raising money for him,â Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter
Dominic
Carter. âThe friendâs name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas ,â
Sutton said.
âHe is the principal adviser to one of the worldâs richest men. He
told me about
Obama.â Sutton, the founder of Inner City Broadcasting, said al-
Mansour
contacted him to ask a favor: Would Sutton write a letter in support
of Obamaâs
application to Harvard Law School ? âHe wrote to me about him,â Sutton
recalled.
âAnd his introduction was there is a young man that has applied to
Harvard. I
know that you have a few friends up there because you used to go up
there to
speak. Would you please write a letter in support of him?â Sutton said
he acted
on his friend al-Mansourâs advice. âI wrote a letter of support of him
to my
friends at Harvard, saying to them I thought there was a genius that
was going
to be available and I certainly hoped they would treat him kindly,â
Sutton told
NY1. Sutton did not say why al-Mansour was helping Obama, how he
discovered him,
or from whom he was raising money on Obamaâs behalf. A Sutton aide
told Newsmax
that Sutton, 88, is ailing and is unlikely to do additional TV
interviews in the
near future. The aide could not provide additional comment for this
story. As it
turned out, Obama did attend Harvard Law School after graduating from
Columbia
University in New York and doing a stint as a community organizer in
Chicago .
The New York Times described how transformative his Harvard experience
became
for the young Obama: âHe arrived there as an unknown, Afro-wearing
community
organizer who had spent years searching for his identity; by the time
he left,
he had his first national news media exposure, a book contract and a
shot of
confidence from running the most powerful legal journal in the
country.â The
details of Obamaâs academic performance are well known: At Harvard,
Obama rose
to academic distinction becoming the editor of the Harvard Law Review
and
graduating magna cum laude. Less known are the reasons al-Mansour, an
activist
African-American Muslim, would be a key backer for a young man from
Hawaii
seeking to attend the most Ivy of the Ivy League law schools.
Khalid al-Mansour a.k.a. Don Warden
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax from his home in San Antonio ,
Texas ,
al-Mansour said he would not comment specifically on the statement by
Percy
Sutton because he was afraid anything he said would get âdistorted.â
âI was
determined I was never going to be in that situation,â he said.
âBloggers are
saying this is the new Rev. Wright, in drag, and he is a nationalist,
racist,
and worse than Rev. Wright. So any statement that I made would only
further this
activity which is not in the interest of Barack.â But in the lengthy
interview,
al-Mansour confirmed that he frequently spoke on university campuses,
including
Columbia , where Percy Sutton suggested he met Obama in the late
1980s, and
confirmed his close relationship with Prince Alwaleed. âI am not
surprised to
learn about this,â said Niger Innis, spokesman of the Congress of
Racial
Equality (CORE). âIt is clear that Barack Obamaâs ties to the left are
familial,
generational, and have lasted for several years.â Although many
Americans have
never heard of Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour (his full name), he is
well
known within the black community as a lawyer, an orthodox Muslim, a
black
nationalist, an author, an international deal-maker, an educator, and
an
outspoken enemy of Israel. A graduate of Howard University with a law
degree
from the University of California , al-Mansour sits on numerous
corporate
boards, including the Saudi African Bank and Chicago-based LaGray
Chemical Co.
LaGray, which was formed to do business in Africa , counts former
Nigerian
President General Abdusalam Abubakar on its advisory board. He also
sits on the
board of the non-profit African Leadership Academy , along with top
McCain for
President adviser Carly Fiorina, and organized a tribute to the
President of
Ghana at the Clinton White House in 1995, along with pop star Michael
Jackson.
But his writings and books are packed with anti-American rhetoric
reminiscent of
the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obamaâs disgraced former pastor. In a 1995
book, âThe
Lost Books of Africa Rediscovered,â he alleged that the United States
was
plotting genocide against black Americans.
The first âgenocide against the black man began 300 years ago,â he
told an
audience in Harlem at a book-signing, while a second âgenocideâ was on
the way
âto remove 15 million Black people, considered disposable, of no
relevance,
value or benefit to the American society.â In the 1960s, when he
founded the
African American Association in the San Francisco Bay area, he was
known as
Donald Warden. According to the Social Activism Project at the
University of
California at Berkley , Warden, a.k.a. Khalid al-Mansour, was the
mentor of
Black Panther Party founder Huey Newton and his cohort, Bobby
Seale.... U.S.
Rep. Barbara Lee of California entered an official statement of
appreciation of
Warden and his Black Panther colleagues in the African-American
Association in
the Congressional Record on April 23, 2007. âAmong the founding
members (of the
Association) were community leaders such as Khalid Al-Mansour (known
then as Don
Warden); future Judges Henry Ramsey and Thelton Henderson; future
Congressman
and Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums, and future Black Panthers Huey Newton
and Bobby
Seale,â the Democratic representativeâs statement said. Al-Mansourâs
more recent
videotaped speeches focus on Muslim themes, and abound with anti-
Semitic
theories and anti-Israel vitriol. âToday, the Palestinians are being
brutalized
like savages,â he told an audience in South Africa . âIf you protest
you will go
to jail, and you may be killed. And they say they are the only
democratic
country in the Middle East . ... They are lying on God.â He accused
the Jews of
âstealing the land the same way the Christians stole the land from the
Indians
in America .â
The Saudi Connection
But al-Mansourâs sponsorship of Obama as a prospective Harvard law
student is
important for another reason beyond his Islamic and anti-American
rhetoric and
early Black Panther ties. At the time Percy Sutton, a former lawyer
for Malcolm
X and a former business partner of al-Mansour, says he was raising
money for
Obamaâs graduate school education, al-Mansour was representing top
members of
the Saudi Royal family seeking to do business and exert influence in
the United
States . In 1989, for example, just one year after Obama entered
Harvard Law
School, the Los Angeles Times revealed that al-Mansour had been
advising Saudi
billionaires Abdul Aziz and Khalid al-Ibrahim in their secret effort
to acquire
a major stake in prime oceanfront property in Marina del Rey, Calif.,
through
âan elaborate network of corporate shells in California, the Caribbean
and
Europe.â At the same time, he was also advising Prince Alwaleed bin
Talal in his
US investments, and sits on the board of his premier investment
vehicle, Kingdom
Holdings. Prince Alwaleed, 53, is the nephew if King Abdallah of Saudi
Arabia
Forbes magazine ranked him this year as the 19th richest person on the
planet,
with a fortune in excess of $23 billion. He owns large chunks of
Citigroup and
News Corp., the holding company that controls Fox News. He is best
known in the
United States for his offer to donate $10 million to help rebuild
downtown
Manhattan after the 9/11 attacks. But after the prince made a public
comment
suggesting that US policies had contributed to causing the attacks,
Mayor Rudy
Giuliani handed back his check. âI entirely reject that statement,â
Giuliani
said. âThere is no moral equivalent for this (terrorist) act. There is
no
justification for it. The people who did it lost any right to ask for
justification for it when they slaughtered 4,000 or 5,000 innocent
people.â
Since then, Prince Alwaleedâs Kingdom Foundation has given millions of
dollars
to Muslim charities in the United States , including several whose
leaders have
been indicted on terrorism-related charges in federal courts. He also
has given
tens of millions of dollars to Harvard and other major US
universities, to
establish programs in Islamic studies. The casual statement by Percy
Sutton to
NY1 is the first time anyone has hinted at a relationship between
Obama and the
Saudi royal family. Although al-Mansour glosses over his ties to the
Saudi
mega-billionaire in some of his public talks, he has represented the
Saudiâs
interests in the United States , in Britain , and in Africa for more
than a
quarter century, according to public records. He told Newsmax that he
has
personally introduced Prince Alwaleed to â51 of the 53 leaders of
Africa ,â
traveling from country to country on the Saudi princeâs private jet.
He knows
virtually every black leader in America , from the business community,
to
community activists, to the worlds of politics and entertainment. When
Michael
Jackson was on the ropes in the mid-1990s following a series of
lawsuits by the
parents of children accusing him of sâual abuse, al-Mansour introduced
him to
Prince Alwaleed, whose Kingdom Entertainment signed a joint venture
with Jackson
in 1996. âJackson and Alwaleed became pals in 1994, when a mutual
friend from
Alwaleedâs college days in California arranged a lunch meeting aboard
the
princeâs yacht in Cannes ,â Time magazine reported about the new
partnership in
1997. The mutual friend was al-Mansour.
âAs a black American, I am exceedingly proud at the American peopleâs
response
to Barack Obamaâs candidacy,â said COREâs Niger Innis. âBut to deny
that he has
long-standing ties to left-wing elements in our polity is to deny
reality. If
you want to be president of the United States , it is not racism if
you ask
these kind of questions, and he has to come up with an answer,
hopefully the
truth.â Sutton gives no clues as to why al-Mansour would be raising
money to
help Obama go to law school. Obama has said during his campaign that
he paid his
way through Harvard with student loans. For Jesse Lee Peterson,
founder of the
Los Angeles-based Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND),
these latest
revelations about Obamaâs ties to Saudi financiers were an important
wake-up
call. âTo me, this opened up more questions about Barack Obama and his
relationship to the Muslim world,â Peterson told Newsmax. âA lot of
people are
caught up with the emotional aspect of Barack Obama, the movie star
aspect, the
false promises that heâs going to take care of everyone and their
Mama.â But
when the full story of Obamaâs ties to radical preachers such as
Wright and to
black Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan comes out, Peterson believes that
Obamaâs
star power will fade. âI think thereâs more to this story and to
Barack Obama
than we realize,â Peterson said. âAs all the truth comes out before
the
election, I donât think he has a chance. I canât see Americanâs taking
that kind
of risk.â

Obama bows to Saudi king
Greeting called âmost unbecoming for president of the United Statesâ
Posted: April 02, 2009
4:12 pm Eastern
By Bob Unruh
President Obama greeted the king of Saudi Arabia with a full bow from
the waist
yesterday, a move one commentator described as a violation of protocol
and not
worthy of the office he holds.
âI am quite certain that this is not the protocol, and is most
unbecoming a
president of the United States ,â writes Clarice Feldman in an
American Thinker
commentary.
The situation developed as leaders of the world attending the G20
summit in
London assembled for a photograph to mark the event.
In this first image, after the king extended his hand while Obama
approached,
Obama bends from the waist until his head is nearly at the monarchâs
waist:
President Obamaâs bow to Saudi king
In a second image, Obama has straightened up and is exchanging remarks
with the
Saudi leader:
Video by a television crew was posted on YouTube. The bow comes at
about 50
seconds into the video:
The action appeared especially awkward since among the dozens of world
leaders
and their spouses, handshakes abounded, but there appeared to be no
other bowing
in the room.
The U.S. State Departmentâs office of protocol, in a statement
attributed to
acting chief of protocol Gladys Blouda, confirmed the type of greeting
between
heads of state depends on the customs of the countries, but a
handshake is the
most common form of greeting.
The online Travel Etiquette website for Saudi Arabia said handshakes
are common
greetings between members of the same gender
âYou should expect to undertake a considerable amount of small talk,
and
learning a few Arabic greetings would be well received. Saudis will
stand closer
to each other than many westerners are used to, and members of the
same gender
will often touch arms when postulating or emphasizing a point. You
should not
draw away from this as it would be considered rude and rejecting. Be
aware that
due to the conservative nature of Saudi Arabian society, it is not
considered
proper etiquette for men and women to greet each other in public,â the
site
advises.
âIt is proper etiquette to refer to a royal as Your Highness, and any
members of
the government ministries as Your Excellency,â it said.
Learn about the rest of Obamaâs plans for the United States , in âThe
Audacity
of Deceitâ
Many of the proper procedures for meeting royalty are set by the
British
monarchy, since its members carry probably the highest royal profile
around the
world today.
The website for the British queen advises men who are from the United
Kingdom to
provide a neck bow (from the head only) âwhilst women do a small
curtsy. Other
people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way.â
âOn presentation to The Queen, the correct formal address is âYour
Majestyâ and
subsequently âMaâamâ,â the site advises.
ABC reported Obama and his wife, Michelle, were less formal meeting
Queen
Elizabeth II earlier this week, when they exchanged handshakes. The
queen
briefly touched Michelle Obama on the back, and she returned the
contact.
Pundits were surprised, since in 1992 Australian Prime Minister Paul
Keating was
criticized when he put his arm around the queen in violation of a
general
âno-touchâ rule regarding royalty.
But the traditional Miss Manners book of etiquette advises: âOne does
not bow or
curtsy to a foreign monarch because the gesture symbolizes recognition
of her
power over her subjects.â
Jamie Glazov, the author of âUnited in Hate,â said Obamaâs act
actually was to
be expected.
âAnd people donât know whatâs going on here? Are we kidding?â he said.
âThis is
simply the continuation of fellow traveling. Itâs to be totally
expected.
Leftists have prostrated themselves before despots throughout history
â during
the whole Cold War and now vis-Ă -vis jihadists in the terror war.
âUnited in
Hateâ crystallizes with precision how and why this dark process
occurs.â
He cited the Obamasâ less formal interaction with the queen earlier.
âObviously, the queen does not wield totalitarian power and does not
mete out
sadistic punishment â with which a believer yearns to identify. The
Saudi king,
meanwhile, is a tyrannical entity to which Obama can subjugate his
individuality
⢠and through which he can vicariously experience a feeling of
power and
purpose. This is the process of negative identification that every
leftist must
practice and that âUnited in Hateâ documents is at the heart of every
leftistâs
main driving force,â he said.

EXCLUSIVE - Obamaâs Nation of Islam Staffers, Edward Said
& âInflexible Jewsâ Causing Mid-East Conflict: An Obama Insider
Reveals the Real Barack
By Debbie Schlussel
a former Obama insider says that Obamaâs sudden aversion to NOI
(Nation of Islam) and Farrakhan is belied by the fact that Obama
employed and continues to employ several Farrakhan acolytes in high
positions on his Illinois and U.S. Senate campaign and office staffs.
I have verified that this personâwho agreed to talk on the condition
of anonymityâheld a key position in the Obama campaign. The insider
was so close to Senator Obama that they frequently personally
discussed and exchanged direct e-mail messages on campaign and policy
matters. This person is not connected with the Clintons and is not a
disgruntled employee.

The insider says he frequently objected to Mr. Obamaâs placement of
Cynthia K. Miller, a member of the Nation of Islam, as the Treasurer
of his U.S. Senate campaign. When I contacted Miller, now a Chicago
real estate agent, to verify whether she was a member of the Nation
of Islam and whether she shared Louis Farrakhanâs bigoted views about
Jews, she responded, âNone of your business! Where are you going with
this?â She said her resignation as Obamaâs treasurer had nothing to
do with her Nation of Islam ties. Then, she hung up.
The Obama insider says he also objected to Obamaâs involvement with
Jennifer Mason, whom he says is also a member of the Nation of Islam.
Mason is Obamaâs Director of Constituent Services in his U.S. Senate
office and is also in charge of selecting Obamaâs Senate interns. She
did not respond to repeated calls for comment.
But itâs not just that he employed these individuals in positions of
power in his office, itâs that when the former associate raised
objections, he says Mr. Obamaâs position was that he saw nothing
wrong with the Nation of Islam and didnât think it was a problem. If
trueâand the fact that Ms. Mason still holds her prominent Obama
Senate staff position bears that outâObamaâs condemnation of
Farrakhan, this month, is phony.
But the insider says there is more to it than that. Obamaâs Illinois
State Senate district consisted of prime Nation of Islam territory,
including Hyde Park, home to Farrakhanâs mansion. It is not possible,
Illinois politicos say, to win that district without the blessing of
the NOI leader. NOI members, including consultant Shakir Muhammad,
held important roles in the Obama state senate campaign.
How many Nation of Islam members will work in an Obama White House?
Then, there is the issue of Israel. When Obama first ran for the U.S.
Senate, he gave militant responses to the Chicago Jewish News about
Israel. Obama denounced Israelâs fenceâwhich he called a âwallâ
and âbarrier to peaceââto keep out terrorists and favored working
with Yasser Arafat. When members of the Chicago Jewish community
circulated his responses, Obama said that the answers were not his
positions, but the work of a low-level intern. He submitted new
answers. But that was a lie, the insider says. In fact, they were the
work of Obamaâs Policy Director, Audra Wilson. Moreover, Obama told
the insider that he blamed the Mideast conflict on the Jews:
Barack told me that he felt that Jewish community was too inflexible,
and that was why the situation in the Mideast could not be resolved.
This is the man who says in a new campaign ad that Hillary Clinton
will say anything but change nothing. Barack Obama will say anything,
but change his answers.
Palestinian activist and Islamist Ali Abunimah, who was a close
friend of Obamaâs, attended an Arab fundraiser at which the late
Edward Saidâplagiarist, fabricator, and prominent PLO/Arafat advisor-
⢠was the keynote speaker, and at which the Obamas were notably in
attendance. Pictures on Abunimahâs site, posted above, show Obama and
wife, Michelle, sitting next to Said and engaging in conversation.
Abunimah, in a must-read article, says the Senator has
since âchangedâ his proclaimed views from those he expressed
privately, in order to get Jewish donors and votes.
And he has succeeded in spades. Lee Rosenberg a top Illinois official
of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the pro-
Israel lobby is a big Obama donor. Ditto for former national AIPAC
official Bob Asher. And Penny Pritzker of the pro-Israel family that
owns Hyatt hotels. And there are so many others who have bought in to
Obamaâs newly pro-Israel views. The insider says Obama pulled the
wool over their eyes.
Then, thereâs Bettylu Saltzman, also Jewish and one of Obamaâs first
major supporters and donors. She is a major Peace Now devotee,
officer of the far-left, pro-capitulation New Israel Fund, and wrote
a letter to a Chicago newspaper praising Jimmy Carterâs book calling
Israel an apartheid state. The Obama insider says she has Obamaâs ear
on the Mideast and âwill be a major policy person for Barack. Very
dangerous.â
The insider points to Mr. Obamaâs changing views in Iraq as another
area of uncertainty. He has highlighted his opposition to the War in
Iraq. The insider says there is strong speculation that Obama
attempted to get his crony, Federal Indictee Tony Rezko, a contract
to build a nuclear power plant in the new Iraq. Rezko, a Syrian Arab
who helped Obama in a deal to purchase his home, was in a partnership
with NOI founder Elijah Muhammadâs son, Jabir.
Barack Obama can denounce Louis Farrakhan ad infinitum. But with
supporters like Ms. Saltzman, high-level staffers who are Nation of
Islam members, and constantly morphing views on Israel merely for
donor appeal, a Barack Obama White House bodes poorly both for Israel
andâfar more importantâfor America.â
Why did Obama support muslim terrorist Raila Odinga & Sharia law in
Kenya?
When Obama went to Kenya in August of 2006, he was hosted by Raila,
his cousin, and spoke in praise of him at rallies in Nairobi: Obamaâs
bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government
spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Railaâs âstooge.â
Raila Odinga, then the current presidential frontrunner, had promised
to implement strict Islamic Sharia law if he received the Muslim vote
and was elected president. Odinga had signed a secret memorandum of
understanding with Sheikh Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National
Leaders Forum, in which Odinga had allegedly stated his intention, if
elected, to: âwithin six months, rewrite the Constitution of Kenya to
recognize Sharia as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran
for Muslim declared regionsâ. I hope Obamaâs female voters are ready
to be stoned to death if they visit Kenya and even look sideways at a
man.
Sarah Hussein Obama of Kenya, Barack Obamaâs stepgrandmother, is a
lifelong Muslim. âI am a strong believer of the Islamic faith,â she
says.
So noted an April 2007 New York Times profile of Barack Obama. Kenya
is in the news again and, like much of Africa, the reports are
horrifying.
This past weekend, women and childrenâentire familiesâwere
burned alive as a crowd of Kenyans torched a church where they had
gathered to protect themselves.
The violence broke out after a disputed election in which populist
challenger Raila Odinga was defeated. Odinga had even hired Dick
Morris as a consultant. Jack Wheeler writes:
When Raila Odinga lost the presidential election last week (12/27) to
Mwai Kibaki, he claimed the vote was rigged, whereupon his tribal
followers went on murderous rampages such as in the town of Eldoret,
where on New Years Day dozens of people were burned to death in a
church set on fire... Throughout Kenya, hundreds of people have been
politically murdered in the last few days.
...Raila has now made a deal for support from the Sovietsâ successors
as world-champion enemies of the West and democratic freedoms: Muslim
fundamentalists... The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya has posted on
its website a photograph copy of a Memorandum of Understanding, dated
and signed on August 29, 2007, between Raila Odinga and Shiekh
Abdullah Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of
Kenya...
It pledges the support of Kenyan Moslems for Railaâs election. In
return, as President of Kenya, Raila agrees to 14 actions, listed a)
through n) on page two. Read them all, and be sure youâre sitting
down. Hereâs a sample:
b) Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize
Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran for Muslim
declared regions.
g) Within one year facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court
in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya,
not just in âMuslim declared regions.â]
...And here is the biggest non-surprise: Raila Odinga has, in his own
words, a âclose personal friendshipâ with Barrack Hussein Obama
Junior. When Obama went to Kenya in August of 2006, he was hosted by
Raila and spoke in praise of him at rallies in Nairobi... Obamaâs
bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government
spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Railaâs âstooge.â
Obama backs a Taliban Supporter in Kenya
It gets worse. If you read through the agreement that Obamaâs friend
signed with the National Muslim Leaders Forum, youâll find that Kenya
is destined to turn into an African version of Talibanistan.
⢠âPopularize Islam, the only true religion... by ordering every
primary school in Kenya in the regions to conduct daily Madrassa
classes.â
⢠âImpose a total ban on open-air gospel crusades by worshippers of
the cross...â
⢠âOutlaw gospel programs... on KBC, the National Broadcaster.â
⢠âImpose a total ban on the public consumption of alcoholic
beverages...â
⢠âImpose an immediate ban on womenâs public dressing styles that
are
considered immoral and offensive to the Muslim faith...â
Obamaâs friend, in other words, is setting the stage for a
transformation of Kenya into a Muslim state, similar to that which
governed Afghanistan during the days of the Taliban.
Note that the mainstream media hasnât reported a single word
regarding the true nature of Kenyaâs unrestânor Obamaâs
involvement with Odinga and the onset of a Taliban-style Sharia law
in Kenya
Rove, Gillespie Slam Obama for Spreading âBaseless Lieâ Over Foreign
Contributions
Published October 10, 2010 | FoxNews.com
advertisement
Two top Republicans lit into President Obama and the Democratic Party
Sunday
over accusations that the GOP strategists and the Chamber of Commerce
were using
foreign contributions to influence the election, calling the claim a
âbaseless
lieâ and accusing the president of âabuse of power.â
Karl Rove, a Fox News contributor, said on âFox News Sundayâ that the
president
had gone too far.
âHave these people no shame? Does the president of the United States
have such
little regard for the office that he holds that he goes out there and
makes
these kind of baseless charges against his political enemies?â Rove
said. âThis
is just beyond the pale. How dare the president do this.â
Rove was referring to a series of charges that have been leveled over
the past
week. Obama first said at a rally in Maryland Thursday that the U.S.
Chamber of
Commerce, which he referred to without mentioning by name, was paying
for ads
against Democrats while taking money from âforeign corporations.â
âSo groups that receive foreign money are spending huge sums to
influence
American elections, and they wonât tell you where the money for their
ads come
from,â Obama said.
Then Obama twice mentioned Rove by name at an Illinois rally, saying
âtwo groups
funded and advised by Karl Rove have outspent the Democratic Party 2
to1 in an
attempt to beatâ Democratic Senate nominee Alexi Giannoulias.
Then the Democratic National Committee rolled out an ad accusing Rove,
former
Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie and the Chamber of
Commerce
of âstealing our democracy.â
The ad accuses them of âspending millions from secret donors to elect
Republicans to do their bidding in Congress,â adding: âIt appears
theyâve even
taking secret foreign money to influence our elections.â
Rove and Gillespie helped found the political group American
Crossroads; Rove
also helped found Crossroads GPS.
But Rove said those groups raise money legally, that itâs âinaccurateâ
to say
heâs personally writing out checks to the groups and that American
Crossroads
reports its donors. In a heated retort, Rove said Sunday that the DNC
ad
effectively accused them all of a criminal violation of U.S. lawâonly
without
proof.
âThey have not one shred of evidence to back up that baseless lie.
This is a
desperate and I think disturbing trend by the president of the United
States to
tar his political adversaries with some kind of, you know, enemies
list
unrestrained by any facts or evidence whatsoever,â Rove said.
The Chamber of Commerce accusation apparently stemmed from a report
last week by
the Center for American Progress-affiliated Think Progress. The report
claimed
the Chamber was generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in foreign
money
every year and questioned whether those funds were going toward its
multimillion-dollar political operations.
But the Chamber adamantly denies this, saying foreign money is
separated from
its U.S. political activity. The Chamber said in a statement Sunday
that the DNC
ad is âridiculous and false.â Rove also said the White House cannot
back up its
accusation.
Asked about the charge, White House senior adviser David Axelrod put
the onus on
groups like the Chamber of Commerce to prove foreign money is not
influencing
the election.
âNo one knows where the moneyâs coming from,â he said on CBSâ âFace
the Nation.â
âWhy not simply disclose where this money is from and then all these
questions
will be answered?â
But Gillespie said the idea that the White House could lob charges and
then
leave it up to the accused to refute them is an âunbelievable
mentality.â
âDavid Axelrod is either woefully uninformed or willfully deceptive
and
dishonest,â Gillespie said.
He said Obama was basing his original charge off a report from a
group, the
Center for American Progress, âthat does not disclose its donors.â
âThis is the kind of abuse of power in a lot of ways ... that most
Americans are
rejecting,â Gillespie said.
âRUSSIA FINALLY SAYS NYET TO TYRANT IN TEHRAN
Powers influenced Russia on S-300 dealâ
Iranian Defense Minister blames Russia for giving into Westâs pressure
by negating on Tehran-Moscow missile defense systems deal; says
Russiaâs claim that deal violated UN Security Council sanctions false,
since it was signed in 2007
News agencies
ISRAEL NEWS OC TOBER 11TH, 2010 C.E.
Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi lashed out at Russia Monday over
its refusal to see the twoâs S-300 missile systems deal through,
saying it capitulated to Western powerâs attempts to disrupt Tehran-
Moscow ties.
Russia already announced it would pay Iran about $800 million to
compensate for faltering on the deal. the deal was nixed after Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev outlawed the delivery of the high-precision
missiles to Iran, saying that sending them would violate sanctions
adopted by the UN Security Council in June.
âThe contract for purchasing S-300 (missile defense) systems does not
violate laws or the international obligations of either party and this
has been explicitly included in the aforementioned contract,â
Brigadier General Vahidi told Iranâs Press TV.
âFurthermore, the delivery date of S-300 systems was two years before
the adoption of the UN Security Council Resolution 1929,â he added.
The Iranian official criticized Russia, saying that since Resolution
1929 does not specifically ban the delivery of defensive missiles,
Moscow has no excuse for refusing to commit to the deal. âWe believe
that meeting commitments by regional countries can strengthen trust...
and create a strong security bond that will help achieve common goals
and interests,â said Vahidi.
The S-300 missile defense system is capable of shielding Iranian
nuclear sites from potential Israeli airstrikes.
Meanwhile, the Fars News Agency reported that
a senior Iranian legislator called on the government to file a lawsuit
against Russia following the botched deal.
âThe government of the Islamic Republic of Iran should pursue the case
with Russiaâs lack of commitment to the delivery of the system,â
Kazzem Jalali, rapporteur of the parliamentâs National Security and
Foreign Policy Commission, said.
âAccording to the S-300 contract, our country should take legal action
in accordance with the contents of the deal in a bid to restore the
inalienable rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran,â he added.
Jalali further cautioned that such disloyalties will cause Iraniansâ
mistrust of the Russians: âIranian officials have warned Russia on
frequent occasions that the Iranian nation has become distrustful of
the Russians, and that action should be taken to bring down this wall
of mistrust among the public opinion.â

Military official says Moscow will not supply Iran with âlarge missile
systemsâ due to UN sanctions
Associated Press
Published: 07.20.10, 17:52 / Israel News
Russiaâs Interfax news agency cites a top military official as saying
the UNâs latest Iran sanctions, which Moscow has backed, rule out the
delivery of missile systems.
Russia has yet to fulfill a 2007 contract with Iran over the delivery
of the sophisticated S-300 defense missiles. The West has urged
against arming a state suspected of running a covert nuclear weapons
program.
Military official Alexander Fomin on Tuesday did not directly identify
the S-300s, but pledged Moscow would desist from supplying âlarge
missile systemsâ in accordance with the sanctions, Interfax reported.
It is the latest indication that the deal is dead. Last month, the
Russian government said the sanctions blocked the missile sale, but
Iran insisted the restrictions donât cover existing contracts

Russia will not deliver S-300 air-defense missiles to Iran, the armed
forces chief of staff said on Wednesday, confirming a government
decision to hold off on a deal that has deeply worried Washington and
Israel.
General Nikolai Makarov said the delivery of the high-precision
missiles would violate UN sanctions Moscow has supported, Russian news
agencies reported.

Obama: Israeli attack on Iran not ideal / Reuters
US president says nuclear Iran would be âreal problemâ, but that
diplomatic solution is still preferable. Meanwhile, Western powers
consider sanctioning Central Bank of Iran, which helps blacklisted
banks carry out transactions
âA decision was taken not to supply S-300s to Iran, they definitely
fall under sanctions,â Makarov was quoted as saying by state-run RIA.
The remarks were the first confirmation from a senior Russian official
of Moscowâs decision not to deliver the missiles, a sign of Russiaâs
increasing willingness to join the West in putting pressure on Tehran
over its nuclear program.
French officials had said that Prime Minister Vladimir Putin told
French President Nicolas Sarkozy in June that Moscow would freeze the
missile deal. Before that, Russian officials had made conflicting
statements about whether new sanctions against Iran would prevent the
sale.
The S-300 is a mobile, long-range air defense system that can detect,
track and destroy ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and low-flying
aircraft.
Iranian defiance irritates Kremlin
Iran announced a deal to acquire S-300s from Russia in 2007, and
Russia has used it as a lever in diplomacy with Tehran and the West.
The United States and Israel, Iranâs foes and rivals for predominance
in the Middle East, have opposed the sale because it could give Iran
the means to withstand air strikes aimed at knocking out its nuclear
sites.
Russiaâs ties with Israel and the United States have been warming and
the Kremlin has expressed irritation with Tehranâs defiance of efforts
to rein in its nuclear program.
Russia angered Israel and caused US concern by saying last week that
it would go ahead with a $300 million sale of Yakhont anti-ship cruise
missiles to Syria.
Russian officials have rejected Israeli concerns that the missiles
could fall into the hands of Hezbollah guerrillas in neighboring
Lebanon.
Also on Wednesday, Italian authorities have seized 7 tonnes of
powerful RDX explosive apparently being shipped from Iran to Syria and
believe that at least part of the cargo may have been intended for
Italy, police sources said on Wednesday.
The cargo was found by anti-Mafia police in a shipping container in
the southern port of Gioia Tauro.
They are still trying to ascertain whether the explosives were in
Italy because the ship transporting them was making a technical stop,

Up next, master political strategist Karl Rove and Joe Trippi on the
pivotal electoral contest that could turn the tide for either party.
Weâre back in a moment.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
BAIER: Now to take a look at some of this yearâs most crucial midterm
races, we turn to two veteran campaign strategists.
Joining us from Bakersfield, California, the architect of two
presidential victories, Republican Karl Rove. And here in studio with
me, the former campaign manager to Howard Dean, Democrat Joe Trippi.
Gentlemen, thanks for being with us, as always.
JOE TRIPPI, FORMER CAMPAIGN MANAGER TO HOWARD DEAN: Good to be with
you.
BAIER: Karl, first to you, before we dig into some of the races across
the country, letâs talk about money. Hereâs what the president said
about you Thursday.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: In this Senate race, two groups funded and
advised by Karl Rove have outspent the Democratic Party 2-1 in an
attempt to beat Alexi -- 2-1, funded and advised by Karl Rove.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BAIER: Now, the two groups are Crossroads GPS, 501Š(4) organization,
and American Crossroads, a 527 group. Karl, your response to the
president?
KARL ROVE, FORMER SENIOR ADVISER TO PRESIDENT BUSG: Well, first of
all, the presidentâs completely inaccurate. He said I funded them. I
wish I had the billions of dollars that George Soros has that he has
used to fund Democratic causes in the past.
Iâm helping both of these groups by raising money for them as is
allowed under the laws of the United States. American Crossroads is
527. Crossroads GPS is a 501Š(4). The latterâthe former reports its
donors. The latter does not. The latter is, like a lot of liberal
groupsâNational Resources Defense Council, League of Conservation
Voters, Center for American Progress, AARP, MoveOn.orgâdo not report
their donors.
BAIER: Well, hereâs what Democratic National Committee chairman Tim
Kaine said, responding to you. He released this statement, quote,
âDespite multiple confirmed accounts of American Crossroads and
Crossroads GPS being conceived in his own home, promoting the group
extensively in the media and raising funds for it, Karl Rove claims
that he is not helping to fund these groups. Mr. Rove has gone further
and accused the president of being misleading. These are serious
accusations, accusations that we would think Mr. Rove would be willing
to back up with incontrovertible evidence.â
Sir, your response to that?
ROVE: Yeah. Look, I amâI am helping raise money for these groups, but
thereâs a different between helping raise money and funding these
groups. The president left the implications in a speech on Thursday
and then in this piece that Iâm somehow taking a check out of my
pocket and putting millions into thisâinto these groups.
Now, Iâm absolutely helping them. Iâm doing everything I possibly can
to raise money for them. In fact, if people watching this broadcast
want to contribute, go to AmericanCrossroads.com...
BAIER: All right. All right. All right. All right.
ROVE: ... and sign up for a contribution.
BAIER: Thereâs a lot of focus, Joe, by the president and others,
Democratic leaders, on what he calls these shadowy groups. But unions
and liberal groups are spending, too. Daily Caller writes this,
âUnions and liberal groups have said for months that they are spending
what amounts to more than $200 million in this election cycle, and an
updated count including a verification with major labor groups that
their commitments still stand shows that amount to be more than $250
million now.â
So is all of this Democratic focus on this spending a little
disingenuous?
TRIPPI: No, not at all. I mean, all these groups have been involved
beforeâlabor, all the groups which you just listed, and some of the
ones that Karl has said. The difference this year is the amount of
corporate money thatâs pumping into the system weâve never seen
before.
And also now with the chamber, the U.S. Chamber, thereâs even
accusations that some of that money may be foreign corporate money
thatâs literally funding some of these campaigns and independent
expenditures. I think thatâs where theâthatâs going to be an issue, I
think, going down through the November election now, is where is that
money coming from.
BAIER: Although the chamber denies that. And the New York Times wrote
about the foreign money thatâthey wrote thereâs little evidence that
what the chamber does in collecting overseas dues is improper or even
unusual, according to both liberal and conservative...
TRIPPI: Yes.
BAIER: ... election law lawyers.
TRIPPI: Well, their...
ROVE: Bret...
TRIPPI: ... their moneyâI mean...
ROVE: Bret, theâit wentâit wentâit went further than that, Bret. The
White House was unable to back up his charge that the United States
chamber of Commerce was spending foreign money on political activity.
Thatâs in the New York Times story yesterday.
Look, this is a...
TRIPPI: This is that same New York Times...
ROVE: ... desperate political ploy by the White House...
TRIPPI: No, itâs the same New York Times...
ROVE: ... the sameâthis is a desperate political ploy by the White
House to distract attention from the failed economic policies, from a
jobless recovery, from the terrible economic news last week, and from
the failure of the âObamacareâ proposal to gain popular support.
And theyâre talking out these baseless charges. The president of the
United States accused the Chamber of Commerceâand the Democratic
National Committee in its new add accuses Ed Gillespie and I of a
criminal violation of our law by getting foreign money and spending it
on American political campaigns, and they have not one shred of
evidence to back up that baseless lie.
This is a desperate and I think disturbing trend by the president of
the United States to tar his political adversaries with some kind ofâ
you know, enemies list, with beingâunrestrained by any facts or
evidence whatsoever.
BAIER: Joe, response?
TRIPPI: I mean, theâlook, the chamber in that same New York Times
article says that they commingle theâthe funds come from foreign
entities. They come from U.S. companies. And then thoseâthey only
supposedly use U.S. company money to influence selections.
(CROSSTALK)
ROVE: Joe, they receiveâthey receive a hundred thousandâthey receive
$100,000 from American chambers of commerce abroad and they very
carefully, they say, segregate that money out of their $200 million
budget, observing the U.S. laws that they can spend no foreign money
on political activity. And they donât.
And the president of the United States and the Democratic National
Committee have no evidence to the contrary, and yet they accuse them
of violating the criminal laws of the United States.
Have these people no shame? Does the president of the United States
have such little regard for the office that he holds that he goes out
there and makes these kind of baseless charges against his political
enemies? This isâthis is just beyond the pale. How dare the president
do this?

âBoy, he is so aggressive,â Clinton said of Cuomo, who at the time was
his chief rival for the 1992 Democratic presidential nomination.
âWell, he seems like he could get real mean. ... I wouldnât be
surprised if he didnât have some mafioso major connections,â responded
Flowers.
Clintonâs rejoinder? âWell, he acts like one.â
Above from the Bill Clinton Gennifer Flowers tapes.
Clinton made a similar remark about Mario Cuomo when he thought, or
pretended that he thought he was off camera on a TV show in 1992.
Andrew Cuomo and Fannie and Freddie
How the youngest Housing and Urban Development secretary in history
gave birth to the mortgage crisis
By Wayne Barrett Tuesday, Aug 5 2008
There are as many starting points for the mortgage meltdown as there
are fears about how far it has yet to go, but one decisive point of
departure is the final years of the Clinton administration, when a kid
from Queens without any real banking or real-estate experience was the
only man in Washington with the power to regulate the giants of home
finance, the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and the
Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), better known as Fannie
Mae and Freddie Mac.
Andrew Cuomo, the youngest Housing and Urban Development secretary in
history, made a series of decisions between 1997 and 2001 that gave
birth to the countryâs current crisis. He took actions thatâin
combination with many other factorsâhelped plunge Fannie and Freddie
into the subprime markets without putting in place the means to
monitor their increasingly risky investments. He turned the Federal
Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with
sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a
federal judge has branded âkickbacksâ to brokers that have fueled the
sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million
families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons
why.
What he did is importantânot just because of what it tells us about
how we got in this hole, but because of what it says about New Yorkâs
attorney general, who has been trying for months to don a white hat in
the subprime scandal, pursuing cases against banks, appraisers,
brokers, rating agencies, and multitrillion-dollar, quasi-public
Fannie and Freddie.
It all starts, as the headlines of recent weeks do, with these two
giant banks. But in the hubbub about their bailout, few have noticed
that the only federal agency with the power to regulate what Cuomo has
called âthe gods of Washingtonâ was HUD. Congress granted that power
in 1992, so there were only four pre-crisis secretaries at the
notoriously political agency that had the ability to rein in Fannie
and Freddie: exâTexas mayor Henry Cisneros and Alfonso Jackson, who
were driven from office by criminal investigations; Mel Martinez, who
left to chase a U.S. Senate seat in Florida; and Cuomo, who used the
agency as a launching pad for his disastrous 2002 gubernatorial
candidacy.
With that many pols at the helm, itâs no wonder that most analysts
have portrayed Fannie and Freddie as if they were unregulated
renegades, and rarely mentioned HUD in the ongoing finger-pointing
exercise that has ranged, appropriately enough, from Wall Street to
Alan Greenspan. But the near-collapse of these dual pillars in recent
weeks is rooted in the HUD junkyard, where every Cuomo decision
discussed here was later ratified by his Bush successors.
And thatâs not an accident: Perhaps the only domestic issue George
Bush and Bill Clinton were in complete agreement about was maximizing
home ownership, each trying to lay claim to a record percentage of
homeowners, and both describing their efforts as a boon to blacks and
Hispanics. HUD, Fannie, and Freddie were their instruments, and, as is
now apparent, the more unsavory the means, the greater the growth.
But, as Paul Krugman noted in the Times recently, âhomeownership isnât
for everyone,â adding that as many as 10 million of the new buyers are
stuck now with negative home equityâmeaning that with falling house
prices, their mortgages exceed the value of their homes. So many
others have gone through foreclosure that thereâs been a net loss in
home ownership since 1998.
It is also worth remembering that the motive for this bipartisan
ownership expansion probably had more to do with the legion of
lobbyists working for lenders, brokers, and Wall Street than an effort
to walk in MLKâs footsteps. Each mortgage was a commodity that could
be sold again and againâfrom the brokers to the bankers to the
securities market. If, at the bottom of this pyramid, the borrower
collapsed under the weight of his mortgageâs impossible terms, the
home could be repackaged a second or a third time and either
refinanced or dumped on a new victim.
Those are the interests that surrounded Cuomo, who did more to set
these forces of unregulated expansion in motion than any other
secretary and then boasted about it, presenting his initiatives as
crusades for racial and social justice.
Cuomo was shrewd enough at the age of 24 to manage his fatherâs
successful 1982 gubernatorial campaign, and to help run his
government. The only statewide campaign his father ever lost was in
1994âwhen Andrew was at HUD as an assistant secretary and couldnât
manage it. He is as quick and as silver-tongued as the elder Cuomo he
sounds so much like, but HUD was a test of his depth, so he found
himself balancing competing forces and making deals on a grander scale
than he was used to in Albany. We now know that he was also making
history.
In 2000, Cuomo required a quantum leap in the number of affordable,
low-to-moderate-income loans that the two mortgage banksâknown
collectively as Government Sponsored Enterprisesâwould have to buy.
The GSEs donât actually sell mortgages to borrowers. They buy them
from banks and mortgage companies, allowing lenders to replenish their
capital and make more loans. They also purchase mortgage-backed
securities, which are pools of mortgages regularly acquired by the
GSEs from investment firms. The government chartered these banks to
pump money into the mortgage market and, while they did it, to make a
strong enough profit to attract shareholders. That created a tug-of-
war between their efforts to maximize shareholder value, which drove
them toward high-end mortgages, and their congressionally mandated
obligation to finance loans for those who needed help. The 1992 law
required HUDâs secretary to make sure housing goals were being met
and, every four years, set new goals for Fannie and Freddie.

THE 1992 CAMPAIGN: Politial Memo; Clinton Sets Off Spark, And Cuomo
Fans Flame
January 30, 1992
By KEVIN SACK, THE NEW YORK TIMES
ALBANY, Jan. 29â Already troubled by allegations of marital
infidelity, Gov. Bill Clintonâs Presidential campaign now faces
mounting difficulties in New Yorkâand perhaps beyondâbecause of an
ethnic remark he made about Gov. Mario M. Cuomo. And, political
strategists agree, Mr. Cuomo has reacted with a bit of hardball
politics that seemed designed to extract a heavy political price from
the Arkansas Governor.
Mr. Cuomo, who has a history of political differences with Mr.
Clinton, spent much of Tuesday transforming Mr. Clintonâs comment that
Mr. Cuomo âacts likeâ a member of the Mafia into an assault on all
ethnic minorities.
