CHINA BLASTS GERTZ OVER AL-QAIDA ARMS REPORT

The Chinese government once again strongly objected to a report by the
WASHINGTON TIMES's Bill Gertz -- a report which revealed China provided
weapons to al-Qaida after the September 11 terror attacks!

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue called the explosive Gertz
report "groundless" and made with "ulterior motives".
PEOPLE'S DAILY:
"China has actively participated in the international cooperation of
combating terrorism and rendered support and assistance to the U.S. side
since the September 11 incident, she said, adding that the facts are obvious
to all.
"She pointed out that a limited number of people in the United States have
tried to use the rumor to defame China and impede the improvement of
Sino-U.S. relations. 'Their ulterior motives are doomed to failure,' she
said."
Gertz on Thursday stood by his report, which quoted a senior U.S. official.
"A week after the terrorist attack, the ruling Taliban and the al-Qaeda
fighters embedded among them, received a shipment of Chinese-made SA-7
missiles," revealed Gertz and Rowan Scarborough in their weekly Inside the
Ring report.
