My "Druthers" President is Llwellen Rockwell Jr. the libertarian
political philospher (who of course is not running or thinking of
running) -- if I were a man of means I would encourage him to run and
encourage you to support him -- but let me just mention him to you for the
purpose of discussing attributes of the candidate we really need right
ow -- and whom we are going to have to draft if we want anyone worht
having.
Putting all considerations of "realistic chances" and trying to hit a
responsive and, therefore, non-futile chord in my readers, if I were to name
the best philosopher king type president who would rule with wisdom and
character and for the real good of mankind and the polity -- I would pick
Llewellyn Rockwell Jr.
Rockwell is a libertarian, but let me explain. He is of the, like me,
Mises-Hayek-Rothbard "Austrian-school" of true libertarian/classical
liberal populism-consistent thinking, which is is NOT the
anarcho-capitalist thinking of, such sonsobitches asAlan Greenspan's
handlers inside the FED, or U. Chicago law professor Richard Epstein, or
Harvard MBA/JD Michael Rothschild. These latter are the ones who, under the
same "libertarian" label, promote a "defense of property" but only after the
state-abdicated power of money-circulation manipulation and other
"rigged-game" frauds and plunderings (the 9-11 for-profit mass-murder
frame-up is one example, the Great Depression, both of World Wars are
others, "Great Society" veiled social sabotage, and the debt-financed Cold
War arms race are others -- anyone want to argue this with me? Only when
nations like the US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Iraq, all of Africa, the
former "Tiger" economies of Asia and the Pacific rim etc. have had the
people's wealth and the wealth of the people's governments completely
plundered, privatized and debt enslaved (creating corresponding
interesting-paying assets for the anarcho-capitalists), only then does a
Richard Epstein enter the scene and turning a blind eye to all of the
anti-libertarian coercion and fraud that has built these ill-gotten fortunes
for the pirates of the earth, does he argue (e.g., in his book "Takings")
that "eminent domain" absolutely protects provate property and that the
Constitution and the principles at its base forbid any legislation that has
the effect of redistributing private persons' wealth accumulations (the
real ideological hand that sculpted the Bush tax cuts.) I am sure you all
see the Epstein's error, but to clarify my own thinking let me state it for
myself: Epstein neglects two facts. He ignores the reality that private
money, in the form of privately owned international merchant banks,
privatley control the rules of markets and the "measure of value" and the
worth of the unit of the "store of value" as well all legislation making
the rules underwhich "the market mechanism" will function - whereas in a
true libertarian state (Mises, Hayek, Rothbard, Rockwell) the state is not
influenced by market players but creates a legal structure of the laws under
which exchange, contract and property all obtain -- so as to avoid
situations where, say, in playing the parlor board game "Monopoly" the
richest player does not get to rewrite the rules and mix his money with that
of the "banker." To the true libertarian, the optimum legal structure is
set up (as the US Founding Fathers set of the US Constitution) and
checks-and-balances to keep accumulations of private power from taking
control and "rigging" the game. But Anarch-capitalism does not view the
national economy and the common weal as the desired goal -- the nation of
laws ain't shit to Michael Rothschild, who views -- with 9-11 frame-up
conspirator Newt Gingrich ( to name just one of the many sonsobitches
building his politics around Rothschild's "corporation-merchantilism
principle," as I hereby dub it) -- as I was saying, who views the primary
"organisms" on this planet deserving care and nurture to be, not the
individual, not humanity, not the nation state, not the human species
population, its standard of living, its medium and long-term prospect as the
things to be looked to and maximized, but rather the global jungle of
evolving wealthy-family owned and controlled companies, the
corporation-elite-family nexus! To corporations, according to Rothschild,
is the only law of survival that matters, that policy makers and "global
governance" should be concerned about. His view is consonant with the
remark of Samuel Clemens, "What is the cheif end of man? -- To get rich.
Win what way? -- dishonestly if he can; honestly if he must. There is no
ethics, no morality, no sanction of a holy spirit, no compassion, no
consideration beyond that imperative -- build the jungle for the ease and
growth of the biggest predators -- never telling you that corporations are
merely totalitiarian states without borders or constitutions or obligations
that they do not choose to incur under the proit-max principle. The
investment banker is master of his universe, and nations and peoples are but
the cows and draw horses of his global plantation. Corporations are not
entrepreneurial -- they tend to destroy competitors by rigging the game,
not by out-competing in terms of better "mousetraps" at lower cost etc.
Corporations are not innovative -- they thrive on destroying the other
man's better ideas, buying up their patents and hiding them in their vaults,
so that their monopoly pricing, their profit-making can go on -- and to
hell with the efficiencies and human betterment that might have been.
Corporations don't know what consumers want. They do not know what
localities need. They do not do "market research" to guide the development
of products people really want and need, rather they do maket research to
"sell" what they don't really need (like renting a monster movie, or
buying your kid a China-manufactured plastic action figure based on that
monster movie and the little toy in your corporation hamburger outlet "kid's
meal) etc. Notice the candy bars next to every cash register waiting line
in every grocery store, you who are trying to loose weight and who have
small children in tow. Notice the tabloid newspapers that fill your mind
with meretricious filth and grotesque and trivial and gross trash as you
wait in line (just so you don't discussing real headlines of the real news
as you, for the only time of the week when you actually stand close to your
neighbors and can actually talk to them -- some of the biggest billionaire
families owning the candy bar companies and the tabloids. Hey, why not --
the candy corporations and the tabloid corporations paid the grocery retail
corporations for the privilege right -- what do you have to say about it?
THAT IS THE MICHAEL ROTHSCHILD IDEAL OF THE KIND OF ENVIRONMENT MOST
CONDUCIVE TO THE SUSTAINABLE PRESERVATION AND WELL-BEING OF THE CORPORATION

At any rate, as I was saying, Llwellen Rockwell Jr. is not an
anarcho-capitalist, he is a libertarian, a believe in the liberty of
mankind. And that is why he, and not Michael Rothschild or Richard Epstein,

provide a kind of slowly burning buildup in order to convert those who think
George is nothing but a godly man heading the free world's efforts to
protect itself against barbaric enemies. But the situation in which we live
is so desperate, it seems to call forth more frank talk. People who are
still defending George don't need patient argument; they need shock
therapy.)
If you doubt that what I say here is true, see the transcript. In much of
what he says, he gets the truth exactly backwards in ways that anyone who
reads the news can discern. He admits (for the first time?) that the US is
militarily occupying Iraq but claims that those who resist are rejecting
"freedom" and "self government." This is like the rapist giving sermons on
the need to respect the physical integrity and dignity of his victims.
The occupier who announces to the people through a bullhorn "Submit or Die!"
has some chutzpah claiming to be a liberator. This is beyond Orwell. It's
evil, crazy, or both. The officer who said this ought to have his badges of
rank ripped off. The president who ignores this ought to be impeached. The
politicians who are ablaze in the face of it ought to be voted out of
office. Websites that reviewed that speech the way they review a movie or
play (yes, that's you NRO) ought to suffer everlasting disgrace.
We must first deal with the problem that George seems genuinely mad. There
was a riddle in nearly every sentence. He spoke like someone dramatically
out of touch with what everyone else knows. The whole scene was a bit wacky,
as if the uncle who everyone knows is crazy came to the family reunion and
was humored because he is family. People were going easy on George just
because he seemed like he was speaking about another planet.
Now, here we have a "war" that has proven to be a complete calamity in every
conceivable way. The blood and violence are ghastly. It started as a war for
democracy and American values and it is ending in body bags, a radicalized
population, hundreds of billions wasted, and an emboldened horde of
terrorists from all countries. The original rationales for the war are
proven hoaxes. The soldiers hate it. The Iraqis hate the soldiers. US
trained Iraqis are AWOL. We are talking here about a war disaster of
historic proportions, even for the aggressor state.
The press, though, seemed somehow reluctant to point this out, as if George
had his finger on a button he could push that would blow them all up.
Instead, the press, very gingerly, put him on the couch. What mistakes had
he made? Are there things he would do differently? Just asking, George. Not
hinting at a thing. Don't take this wrong. Just a normal sort of question
every president is asked. Do you think there have been any judgment errors
at all? Everyone makes mistakes, you know; nothing to be ashamed of.
Nope, said George, nothing he can think of. It was almost cartoonish. But in
real life, it is extremely scary. The press was evidently confused by the
whole scene, their eyes darting back and forth to each other in bemusement.
The efforts to report on the event the next day were similarly strained. The
headlines could have run: "President Bush Has Gone Off the Rails." But since
press etiquette demands he be treated with great deference, the stories were
all variations of: "George Bush today pledged to continue the offensive in
Iraq, while denying his administration has made errors in judgment."
George isn't the first and certainly won't be the last crazy president.
Power tends to do this to people. The sin of mass murder also does it. It
makes them callous, nuts, dangerous. The answer is not to replace him with
Kerry, or Clinton, or Carter, or some other person who seems more peaceful
in some way. Bush also seemed rather peaceful during the election.
The urgent moral priority of our time is to dismantle the warfare state,
disarm the nukes, roll back the empire from every corner of the globe. We
want to live in a country even a crazy man can head and not have it be
dangerous for us or the world. If George or his successors want to play
violent games, someone could just bring them a set of plastic army men and
they could have at it all day in the West Wing. Let them live out their
fantasies of death and dominion with toys rather than the real world.

The U.S. like always needs to divert attentions when they get negative
attention, during Monica Lewinski scandal the U.S. decided to bomb a
Afghanistan and Sudan for no reason and without any prove that they where

- Nick Berg was wearing an orange jumpsuit - just like US prisoners
wear.
- Berg was last seen alive on 10 April, when his father Michael Berg
believes he was killed - two weeks before the Abu Ghraib prisoner
abuse scandal broke in the world's media. (Tape claimed the
execution was retaliation for Iraqi prisoner abuse).
- The body is completely motionless even as the knife is brought
to bear - not so much as an instinctive wriggle.
- It is natural that when the throat artery is cut, it would cause a
significant amount of blood. But little emerges and when the
head was raised - not a drop of blood is seen to fall.
- Additionally, some have pointed out that his last email on 6 April
to his family stated he wished to return home as soon as
possible - yet the FBI claim he refused an offer of help to get
home. (In the wider press, FBI involvement has also generated
much discussion as to why Berg was really arrested and
detained for two weeks in Mosul.)
- A US newspaper claims an official familiar with the case
knew that FBI agents had interrogated Berg, but had left him
for two weeks because he was in Iraqi - not American - custody.
- The Jordanian accused of the beheading Berg is himself
believed to have been killed in March, according to two Islamic
groups.
An eight-page leaflet circulated this week in Falluja, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi
was killed in the Sulaimaniya Mountains of northern Iraq during a US
bombing.
But even if it was the Jordanian, his face is so well-known that "why would
he bother to cover it?"
Now you perhaps still think that the U.S. would never execute one of its
own. Then you should ask yourself the question why the U.S. invaded Iraq
knowing it had no WMD like it is proven now to the whole world. This led to
the death of more then 700 invaders of U.S. nationality alone.
The U.S. needed to boost its support to continue this unjust war for its

ERWIN, Tenn. -- Two Israeli men who led the Unicoi County sheriff on a
high-speed chase in a rented moving truck were placed under arrest and are
being investigated by the FBI, local officials said.
Shmuel Dahan and Almaliach Naor, both from Israel, were being held without
bond Sunday afternoon at the Unicoi County Jail. The truck, rented from a
Ryder office in Mars Hills, N.C., was being held in the county garage
pending an FBI investigation, officials said.
Dahan is charged with reckless driving, littering, false identification and
evading arrest, while Naor faces charges of false identification and
evading arrest, an officer with the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department who
would not give his name said Sunday.
An investigation by the FBI is ongoing and more charges are possible, he
said. A woman who answered the phone at the FBI's Knoxville office said
there was no one available to answer questions about the arrest.
The incident began late Saturday afternoon [May 8, 2004] when Sheriff Kent
Harris noticed a rental truck traveling at a high speed along former U.S.
Highway 23, a lightly-traveled highway near the North Carolina state line.
"I was really concerned because the driver would not stop after I flashed
my headlights for nearly three miles," Harris said. "He was weaving back
and forth and I was wondering what a large (rental truck) was doing on the
two-lane highway late Saturday afternoon instead of the faster I-26
Interstate."
Harris said he saw the men throw something from the truck while they were
being pursued. Officers scouring the area later found a vial containing an
unknown substance along the roadway, he said. Once the men were
apprehended, officers also found a "Learn to Fly" brochure in the truck,
leading Harris and others to express concern about security at the Nuclear
Fuel Services plant in Erwin. "I got a sick feeling when I saw it," Harris
said.
Dahan also gave authorities a fake Florida driver's license issues in
Plantation, Fla., he said, while Naor produced a fake identification card.
Harris subsequently contacted the FBI, the federal Bureau of Tobacco and
Firearms and other local authorities to look into the situation.
"We're not overreacting," Harris said. "We have a responsibility to protect
the citizens of Unicoi County and that's what I'm going to do at any cost.
I'd rather overreact, if that's what you call it, than be sorry later."

I am disappointed and discouraged that so transparent a sting operation
against the courageous editor of the Mirror has succeeded. Reasonableness
would have been to understand that 1) newspapers can be given false
information deliberately, 2) checking for authenticity to the point of
absolute certainty in very important stories must be weighed in trade-off
against timeliness, and 3) honest mistakes by an editor in the judging
trade-off between establishing authenticity and timeliness (realizing that
mistakes will happen, that the editors nose for a fraud can be deceived by
an accomplished deceiver) should be forgiven if retraction is offered as
soon as the error is discovered and the way the the mistake/deception
occured is reported.
Theologians can argue that the way to disprove that a pretender is a
"prophet of God" is to find him pronouncing one error. If the British do
not hold their prime ministers to this standard or intelligence services to
this standard, why hold honest editors who are trying to keep people
informed of coverups of life-and-death evil in high places and who have a
six a.m. deadline to a higher standard?
By allowing the very people who may have originated the false information to
call for and get the head of the editor they fooled does not send the
message "be competent or else" to editors, rather it sends the message "we
can put you out in the street too if you do not play along."
It so happens that I recognize this tactic because I have seen it used
against investigators and commentators on the internet.
One needs to look very carefully at the way in which the call for Morgan's
head was made and at exactly who pulled him down.

Two versions of the truth and nobody taking note -- The death of an
eight-year-old Iraqi girl, a string of damning reports and yet not a single
minister claims to have seen one of them, writes Westminster Editor James

WHY eight-year-old Hanan Saleh Matrud was killed is not clear. Hanan lived
in Karmat Ali, an area known to be hostile to coalition forces in Iraq, when
on August 21 last year a patrol from the First Battalion of the King's
Regiment were "engaged" by several stone- throwing mobs.
A British soldier fired a warning shot into the air to disperse the stone
throwers, which they did, according to the army. But "a number of minutes"
later the patrol noticed "a girl who had been cut across the abdominal area"
. The girl was Hanan and she was still conscious, but the wound was serious.
She was taken to the Czech hospital in northern Basra where she died the
next day.
However, the account given by Iraqi eyewitnesses - and reported by Amnesty
International - and Hanan's family couldn't be more different. One witness,
Mizher Jabbar Yassip, said an armoured vehicle stopped outside the entrance
to an alley that led to Hanan's house. Three or four soldiers got out. A
group of children gathered about 60 or so metres from the vehicle.
''Suddenly a soldier aimed and fired a shot which hit Hanan in her lower
torso.''
Her uncle, Fellah, carried her to the vehicle. Witnesses say the soldiers
were reluctant to take her to hospital, but they did. According to Hanan's
family, military police photographed the area and interviewed witnesses the
day after the killing. Hanan's body was also photo graphed in the Czech
hospital.
However, Adam Ingram, the armed forces minister, in a statement made on
January 19, said no investigation was initiated by the UK military
authorities into Hanan's death. She is only one of 37 civilians that UK
forces have been involved in killing since May 1 last year.
Just as Ingram was apparently certain that Hanan's death had not been
investigated, he is equally clear that his office has received "no adverse
or other reports" into the treatment of detainees in Iraq. Like the
differing accounts of the King's Regiment and Hanan's family, Ingram's
version of events and the account offered by the International Committee of
the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva, cannot both be correct.
Foreign Secretary Jack Straw wrote to his shadow Michael Ancram last week,
detailing an ICRC report that was delivered on February 26 this year to the
office of US administrator in Iraq Paul Bremer and officials from the office
of the UK special representative for Iraq. At the meeting, the ICRC
presented a report on the treatment of detainees in Iraq by coalition
personnel.
Straw says the meeting was reported to London by the UK special
representative on February 27. A telegram noted that a copy of the report
had already been provided to Permanent Joint Headquarters (Northwood).
Although it was signed by the UK's Special Representative in Iraq, Sir
Jeremy Greenstock "in the usual way that telegrams are signed by Heads of
Mission" Straw admitted Greenstock hadn't in fact seen the ICRC report, and
hadn't been at the meeting.
There is mounting political concern over why Prime Minister Tony Blair said
he did not see the report until Monday, May 10, and said he did not know of
the allegations it contained. Nor did Jack Straw, Ingram or Geoff Hoon. But
the February report from the ICRC and the allegations of torture and abuse
it contained was not - as this newspaper reported last week - the first
alarm bell to have rung in Iraq. It was, in fact, only a summary of a year
of ICRC probes in Iraq.
According to the ICRC in Geneva, the February report "summarises a series of
working papers handed over to the coalition forces". ICRC delegates'
findings were based on their observations and private interviews with
prisoners of war and detainees during the 29 visits the ICRC conducted in 14
places of detention throughout Iraq between March 31 and October 24, 2003.
The ICRC also says delegates met regularly with representatives of the
coalition authorities to "present them with serious concerns regarding the
treatment of persons protected by the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions"
who the coalition were holding in Iraqi detention centres.
The ICRC's director of operations, Pierre Krahenbuhl, now believes the
leaking of the February report may have damaged the political neutrality of
his organisation, and has tried to close down the material coming out of the
ICRC. But Krahenbuhl is not back-tracking on any of the content listed and
re-emphasised its conclusions in report after report during a year of
occupation in Iraq. He dismisses accusations that the reports were mainly on
issues of food and water. "I won't go into details," he said in Geneva, "but
the issues are clearly of treatment . some of the elements the ICRC found
were tantamount to torture."
The ICRC in London told the Sunday Herald that after each visit or
inspection a report was compiled and delivered to coalition authorities. An
accompanying discussion with senior coalition figures was routine.
In addition to the ICRC's review of incidents where detainees had been shot
or wounded, the ICRC also investigated the places where mistreatment of
detainees was said to be taking place. The mandate of the Geneva Convention
technically allowed the ICRC unrestricted access. The military intelligence
sections of Baghdad's Camp Cropper and Abu Ghraib jails were inspected.
Other inspections included Al-Baghdadi, Heat Base and Hubbania Camp in the
Ramadi governorate; the Tikrit holding area (the former Saddam Hussein
Islamic School); a former train station, Al Khaim, that had been converted
into a military base; the ministry of defence and presidential palace in
Baghdad, and the former mukhabarat secret police office in Basra.
An ICRC source in London said: "Before and after each visit we would speak
to the person in charge of the facility. We expected them to look at our
recommendations. After each visit there would have been a report and a
dialogue with the coalition authorities - both UK and US."
Yet nobody in either the Foreign Office or MoD is able to say if senior
ministers read these reports and who should have ensured they did . The
Sunday Herald has established how this should have happened. The Foreign
Office has a seconded adviser on human rights working with the "ministry of
human rights" inside the coalition authority in Baghdad. The ICRC report
would have immediately gone to the "human rights" department and then be
sent by secure "telegram" to London for distribution.
So how did Blair, Straw, Hoon and Ingram fail to get the reports? A
Whitehall source said: "It is entirely possible that ministers did not see
these reports - but only if they had specifically asked not to see them.
Not everything goes to ministers - especially if they wanted the bad news
kept well away from them."

ordeal".
On Thursday, the Ministry of Defence concluded that the photographs were
fake. The next day, Trinity Mirror owners [Zionist Jews, btw] conceded that
it has been the victim of a "malicious hoax" and announced Morgan's
departure.

Senior executives at Trinity Mirror, the owners of the newspaper, told The
Telegraph last night that they would co-operate "fully" with a Ministry of
Defence investigation aimed at establishing the identity of those who took
and sold the pictures.
Managers at the Daily Mirror will this week instruct its journalists to
reveal the names of two soldiers responsible for the fake photographs of
British troops allegedly abusing an Iraqi prisoner.
The move follows the sudden sacking on Friday of Piers Morgan, the Mirror
editor for the past nine years. He refuses to accept that the photographs
were faked and ordered his staff not to reveal the men's identities.
"When we say we will fully co-operate with the MoD, we mean exactly that,"
said one senior executive. "While we are committed as journalists to
protecting our sources, that does not extend to people who have acted
fraudulently in pursuit of money."
The Mirror said the two men, supposedly from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment
(QLR), had expected £5,000 each for the pictures' publication, but this
money would not now be paid. The photographs were published on May 1 with
the headline: "Vile . . . but this time it's the BRITISH soldiers degrading
an Iraqi."
The newspaper had claimed that the pictures were provided by "one of the
attackers and a colleague". The images were later shown worldwide and used
by militants in Iraq as a justification for calls to kidnap British troops.

The identity of the two men who supplied the images - known only as Soldiers
A and B - is believed to be known only to four Mirror journalists, including
Paul Byrne, the Manchester-based reporter who wrote the original story.
Trinity Mirror said last night that the proceeds from the sale of the fake
photographs to other media organisations - believed to total more than
£100,000 - would be donated to an Army charity and the International
Committee of the Red Cross.
Senior QLR officers want Trinity Mirror to identify Soldiers A and B to
assist the Royal Military Police (RMP).
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "On several occasions last week, the
RMP asked the Daily Mirror to identify Soldiers A and B so that the RMP
could further its inquiries. The RMP position remains unchanged: it wants
the Daily Mirror to hand over the names."
Four soldiers were arrested and questioned last week, but released without
charge.
At the Mirror, Des Kelly, the former deputy editor who has been appointed
acting editor, will face a tough task when he starts work today. He must
liaise between Sly Bailey, the company's uncompromising chief executive who
is eager to draw a line under the affair, and journalists, some of whom
remain committed to the story and say their loyalties lie with Morgan.
One Mirror executive said: "If the board orders the four staff who know the
names of Soldiers A and B to identify them, there will be more blood on the
walls. At least two of the four are expected to resign rather than
compromise the soldiers' identity."
