OT: Looking back 200 years

Given the deluge of misinformation, misrepresentations, lack of
understanding and outright ignorance posted to social media (and cropping
up sadly elsewhere too) of what Marxism actually is and what it is not,
be intentional or not, makes it necessary to demystify that
econopolitical theory for the average punter who can't be bothered
actually reading lengthy volumes of scholarly works.
Regardless of what sociopolitical conviction one might have understanding
of what Marx teaches us in the correct context is essential. Well, it
really is so for most of us as long as one values rational thought
processes and one is not a raving loon capitalist libertarian, a fascist
and/or an alt-right nutjob.
