The Mick Jagger one was made in the mid to late seventies, I believe, and
there was a film also made in the forties or fifties. I also vaguely
recall regularly watching an Australian adventure TV series way back in
the mid-sixties.

The mention of Pentridge prison (in the wiki) reminded me of a TV
programme I used to watch avidly in the eighties- 'Prisoner- Cell Block
H'. That should give the Aussies a laugh. The show was so bad it was
good, with shaky scenery and so on, that it became a cult thing over
here.

Some character names to give those in the know a chuckle: Lizzie, Bea,
and Doreen. :-)

LOL, as Parko said, the series has been remade, same characters and all
and entitled "Wentworth".
