New Hampshire ushered in the new decade by becoming the fifth U.S. state to
allow gay marriage. When the clock hit midnight, couples rushed to the state
capital of Concord, braving freezing temperatures, to join the nearly 150
people waiting to get married by a justice of the peace. The law was passed
in June, and Washington, D.C., is next up to legalize gay marriage. "I feel
fabulous. It was wonderful, and it was historic," said Linda Murphy, who
married her partner of 19 years.
