Despite a perceived cultural clash between the West and Islam, many of
the values upheld by Americans are also enshrined in the religion’s holy
book, the Quran, an Indian filmmaker said in Atlanta.
“The Quran is already there, it’s being played out every day, day in and
day out in American life,” said Faruq Masudi, who is promoting his
newest movie in Georgia. “To say that American lifestyle or society is
at loggerheads with the concept of the Quran is very, very wrong.”
Mr. Masudi, who hails from northern India, has produced soap operas and
other TV shows in multiple languages for distribution in India, Pakistan
and around the Middle East.
He had already produced two feature films in Hindi and Arabic, but his
latest project was filmed entirely in the U.S., in English, with a cast
of American scholars.
Titled “Quran: Contemporary Connections,” the film blends genres but
mostly resembles a documentary, which Mr. Masudi hopes will correct much
of what he calls “misinformation” about Islam in America.
“I felt, like most of the Muslims, that we are not being perceived in
the way we should be,” Mr. Masudi said.
In his view, it’s partly the responsibility of Muslims to remedy that
problem. Aside from being a business venture, the film is Mr. Masudi’s
effort to increase awareness about his faith and build intercultural
understanding that leads to peace.
Although he maintains good relationships with non-Muslim colleagues and
acquaintances, Mr. Masudi decided to make the film when he noticed that
many people still don’t understand how Islam – a 1,400-year-old faith –
fits into a modern context.
As the “fountainhead” for all Islamic belief, the Quran is the perfect
place to begin showing how Islam is compatible with Western values, Mr.
Masudi said.
For instance, the role of women in Muslim countries often comes under
fire from human rights activists in America, but Mr. Masudi said his
film shows that the Quran actually grants women equality in wealth,
social status, religion and marital contracts.
“If you ask me, there are more rights than men, contrary to what many
people think,” Mr. Masudi said.
He allows that some countries acting under Islam’s banner deprive women
of their rights, but said “they are not acting in good belief.
“The fault is with those people, not with the Quran,” he said.
In fact, the U.S. does a better job at enacting some Quranic precepts
than many supposedly Muslim countries do, he said.
He cited the government’s Social Security program and efforts to help
the poor and destitute. Using urban settings as the film’s backdrop,
the film shows how programs like these illustrate that some Quranic
principles are at work.
“When you see those images, those American images in my film, you really
will wonder, … ‘Where is the clash, where is the difference?’” Mr.
Masudi said in a filmed interview with GlobalAtlanta.
The media shoulders some of the blame for allowing stereotypes to take
root. In the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Americans became
obsessed with the hunt for one man – Osama bin Laden – and hasn’t been
able to see the millions of Muslims around them who are contributing to
their communities, he said.
As far as news is concerned, “Being good is no good, you know? Being bad
is good because bad sells,” he added.
“One Osama bin Laden sells all across the world, but there are millions
of non-Osama bin Ladens who are doing absolutely wonderful work not only
for Muslims but for non-Muslims as well.”
The film tackles the Islamic views of war and jihad, sex, polygamy and
other issues that have become controversial and sensationalized.
Mr. Masudi hopes to find a distributor for his film in the U.S.

When you turn on your television this fall, you'll be watching more
women kick more ass than you can possibly imagine-physically,
economically and sexually. Hard-bodied and smart, rich and aggressive,
confident and independent, the chicks who populate the prime-time
lineup are being cast in roles that once belonged almost exclusively
to men. These broads are cops and lawyers and masters of the business
universe. Hollywood doyennes like Kyra Sedgwick, Mary-Louise Parker
and Holly Hunter have already found midlife career solace (and good
writing) on cable. This year, Julianna Margulies will star as a nasty
Nancy Grace knockoff, Angie Harmon as a police lieutenant, Lucy Liu as
a publishing executive, and Patricia Heaton as a news anchor; there's
a new "Bionic Woman" and a whole show about the world's leading
incubator of the future, "The Terminator's" Sarah Connor. The flinty
Cagneys, Laceys, Murphys and Buffys of yore aren't the exceptions in
the new TV season; they rule.
So what happened to the men? Nothing good, that's for sure. Here, for
instance, is what happens when Lucy Liu's character, Mia, on ABC's
"Cashmere Mafia," wins a work contest, and big promotion, over her
boyfriend and colleague Richard: He breaks up with her, tail between
his legs. "I thought I'd win and buy us a place and take care of you,"
he explains. "And now that it's reversed I just can't see us .. I'm 40
next month. I want someone to come home to. I'm going to want kids,
and we're just going in opposite directions." Yup. Welcome to the new
world on television, where the women are strong, and the men are
cavemen. Literally. ABC's "Cavemen," based on the Geico ad campaign
character, is about a trio of Cro-Magnons with low self-esteem and a
little hair-growth problem. Small-screen heroes who aren't actually
dragging their knuckles behave even worse. In the face of professional
and sexual equality between the televised sexes, these fictional guys
are cowed, angry and generally emasculated by the successes of their
female counterparts.
It can't all be coincidence that this season is coming at the end of a
summer in which the biggest movie hits have featured dopey,
ill-groomed, irresponsible boys who score beautiful high-achieving
women and then have no idea what to do once they land them. That's
right, we're in Apatowland, baby, where the idea of a male romantic
lead now begins with a water bong and ends with a fart joke..
Among the degradations about to be heaped on television's men? There
are guys whose wives cheat on them, whose girlfriends get promoted
over them, whose mates make more money than they do; guys who get left
out of baby-making, who date women with penises and at least one who
gets anally raped by a monkey.
Seriously.
It's tough to know where to start in explaining how bad these boys
have it, but the monkey rape seems as good a place as any. It takes
place in the debut episode of the Farrelly brothers' half-hour comedy
"The Rules for Starting Over," which premieres on Fox in spring 2008,
about Gator (Craig Bierko), a menschy guy tossed back into the dating
market after his wife leaves him for a Cirque de Soleil performer.
Gator, who hasn't been on a date since his 20s, is mystified by women,
and startled to be invited up to the apartment of an attractive
naturalist who shows him tapes of the gorillas she's studied. She
informs him that "in the world of primates, the female always
initiates," pulling him onto the floor on top of her to demonstrate.
That's when the woman's pet baboon takes Gator from behind. Gator's
buddies do nickname the monkey "bi-curious George"-the only funny line
of the episode-but otherwise are a lamentable bunch. They include a
heavily accented Indian doctor, also recently divorced, and so lonely
and stupid that he invites an escort to his birthday dinner (at "Thank
God It Is Friday's"-think of how hilarious that is in an Indian
accent!) and proposes to her. As if getting ditched for a circus
acrobat isn't emblematic enough of the clownish powerlessness of
modern man, the show's lone female star is dating a short man who
works for the Celtics-as the team's bouncy mascot, Lucky the
Leprechaun!
At least the guys on "The Secrets of Starting Over" have met women.
Geeky schlubs Sheldon and Leonard (Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecki) on
CBS' "Big Bang Theory" are socially hobbled physicists whose only
sexual activity involves donating to a high-IQ sperm bank, so that
woman can get pregnant by them without actually having to touch them!
The guys meet a cute neighbor and by the end of the half-hour have had
their pants removed by her brawny ex. "It wasn't my first pantsing,
and it won't be my last," says a defeated Sheldon. Going pantsless is
one of the weirdly repeated themes of the new season, turning up again
in ABC's bone-chillingly bad comedy "Carpoolers."
The idea behind "Carpoolers," voiced several times during its pilot,
is that daily trips to and from work are the only escape for these
four miserable men, who have nothing in common except a barely
disguised antipathy for the women in their lives. Aubrey's wife has
him by the balls: He waits on her, cooks and cares for the kids while
she watches television and takes his money. Laird (Jerry O'Connell),
the carpool's founder, has been dumped by his wife, who cheated and
left him with nothing but an ass-print on the sliding glass door.
Gracen (Fred Goss) is married to Leila (Faith Ford), a woman he seems
to care for, but whose real estate "hobby" has recently become
lucrative. The pilot revolves around the carpool's suspicion that
Leila is making more money than her husband. The decline of
masculinity is further embodied by Gracen and Leila's subliterate
adult son Marmaduke, who inexplicably prances around the house without
trousers and miraculously lands a job at which he, too, will be making
more money than his father.
The fury and confusion about shifting gender roles as expressed on
"Carpoolers" is scary in its nakedness. At one point, Laird suggests
to Gracen that he talk to his wife about how she's spending his money.
"My money? Ha ha, no," says Gracen. "All the money I make is our
money; it always has been. The money she's making now is her money."
Aubrey chimes in, "Well at least you have your money. My wife gets my
checks; I don't even know how much I make!" To which Laird says, "My
wife and I have it all worked out out. She gets everything. Her lawyer
saw to that."
Ha ha ha ha!
Later Laird stokes Gracen's fear by explaining that "men go off to
war; women shop; if we don't provide for our women, do they really
need us?" Part of the horror of this show is how it-and not the
specter of the high-earning wife-is actually stripping its heroes of
anything resembling self-respect or masculine dignity. Gracen squirms
around about Leila's income like a spineless nelly; he curls in a
fetal position when he hears how much she has in her account; he can
only have sex with her after he realizes it's all been a
misunderstanding-of course she's not wealthier than he is!
"Carpoolers" does more to impugn the American male than any
high-earning spouse could ever do. But if this sitcom is any
measure-and god willing it is not-the American female is fucked. There
is no mode of femininity that satisfies these guys: The wife who is
too successful makes her husband feel unmanly; the wife who doesn't
work makes her husband bake; the wife who leaves is a bitch who takes
the furniture..
At least the barely sublimated aggression is played for laughs in the
sitcoms. When it comes to the dramas, the female triumphs are that
much more potent, and the resulting arrested machismo of the men is
that much more ... not potent. On ABC's "Women's Murder Club," Angie
Harmon is police Lt. Lindsay Boxer-recently promoted over her older
male colleague-who solves murders with the support of her best female
confidants, a reporter, a medical examiner and a D.A. (brunet, blond,
African-American, natch). They're such a successful clique that they
even have a wannabe (Asian!) member, who begs to become a part of
their club, which she sees as "women teaming up to level the playing
field in a man's world."
The only area in which these women show any weakness is their love
lives, but it's made clear that that has a lot to do with male
discomfort with their power. As Lindsay says about her failed
marriage, "Before he left, I kept promising that I would change. That
I would put him over the job and that I would be at home more.
Eventually he just stopped believing me, and he was right." But even
without the husband, she shows no interest in changing. When it's
pointed out that Lindsay hasn't had sex in two years, she says
defensively, "I'm picky. And busy." Medical examiner Claire (Paula
Newsome) has a more successful relationship. When she goes home to
cuddle with her husband, we understand him to be a man comfortable
with his wife's power as soon as she sits in his lap .. in his
wheelchair.
Set on an opposite coast and a professional world apart, ABC's
"Cashmere Mafia" strikes amazingly similar notes to "Women's Murder
Club." "Mafia" is Darren Starr's attempt to plunder the "Sex and the
City" audience, before the mid-season debut of NBC's "Lipstick
Jungle," based on a book by the original Carrie, Candace Bushnell.
"Mafia" begins with a shot of New York amazons (brunet, blond,
red-headed, Asian!) striding down a Gotham street. "This is a story
about four friends who were taught from childhood that through hard
work and smart choices they could have it all," the efficient
voice-over tells us. Zoe (Frances O'Connor) is a Wall Street macher
with a great family and stay-at-home- dad husband so devoted that he
turns down a play-group mom's offer for strings-free sex. Juliet
(Miranda Otto) is a hotel chain executive; Caitlin (Bonnie Somerville)
is a marketing executive for a cosmetics company who, according to the
intro, "says she lives for work because work never tells her that he's
just not that into her." But her imperviousness to men may not be
simply attitudinal; she's also a budding lesbian. After her first kiss
with a woman, the pilot's soundtrack plays "You Make Me Feel Like a
Natural Woman." That's right, boys. Want to know what makes this
beautiful woman feel like a woman? A woman! Suck it! Like the Murder
Club ladies, these women are utterly self-sufficient professionally,
except insomuch as they rely on each other for detailed
four-way-phone- call advice..
On "Big Shots," "Cashmere Mafia's" corollary about a bunch of
classically red-blooded businessmen, the four friends sit around a
swimming pool taking a schvitz like the girls on "Sisters" used to do.
"Look at us," says Brody, played by Christopher Titus, as a man so
devoted to his wife that he spends the whole episode micromanaging the
catering for her birthday party, "We're supposed to be these alpha
males, right? But now James' wife is sleeping around on him and Karl
can't control his crazy mistress and I'm so whipped that I can't tell
my wife that the delivery company can't seem to find her shipment of
Napoleans." Duncan (Dylan McDermott) replies flatly, "Men, we're the
new women," just before Brody gets a phone call that he answers, "Oh,
what fresh hell ... What do you mean the pastry filling won't clear
customs?"
"Big Shots" is one of the two-two! -- new dramas so befuddled by
gender arrangements that in their pilots, they have their muscular
male leads-McDermott on "Big Shots" and William Baldwin on ABC's
"Dirty Sexy Money"-engaging in sex with transvestites. What better
symbol could there be of the emasculation of television's men and the
chicks-with- dicks attitude toward its women? As "Dirty Sexy Money"
lead Peter Krause taunts Baldwin's character: "Is she more of a man
than you are?"
Yes. She is more of a man than he is. All of television's women are,
apparently. You know you're in trouble when Julianna Margulies' tough
lawyer character on Fox's "Canterbury's Law," which premieres
midseason, walks in on her male junior colleague in the pisser, and
when he asks her to leave, she merely turns on the water to hurry
things along.
Rather than seeing their opportunities for interaction with women
expand, these men have instead curled into fetal positions like Gracen
on "Carpoolers." Is it simply impossible for the televised heroes of
yesteryear to go gracefully into their new world order? It's
understandable and honest to express some befuddlement with shifting
expectations. But these are characters whose discomfort makes them
unattractive, or silly-looking. They are whipped, flummoxed and
helpless without the power to make the calls-in the bedroom or the
boardroom. They can't just be normal nice guys who are no longer
entirely in control, who do childcare or play a subordinate role at
work but who do so in a way that is still sexy, still powerful,
instead of in a way that is marked as submissive, beaten down or
pansy-assed. Nope, they must be buffoons, caricatures, dopes or just
angry, neutered bastards.
It's discomfiting for women, too, to see television's idea of what a
feminized man is, since it is a reflection of what television
considers feminine to begin with. If these men are "the new women,"
then what does that say about what they take women for? Do they think
we have hissy fits when we discover how much our husbands have in
their bank accounts? That we flip out when a man comes on to us? That
when we get passed over for promotions we walk out of relationships in
defeat? If these are supposed to be girly-men, then the notion of what
girly looks like is simply ghastly, an insult not only to the men, but
to the women whose habits they are supposedly aping. Little wonder
that many of these programs include plotlines in which women and men
turn in on their own gender to fulfill their social, professional and
sexual needs.

Chronologically, sura 9 was the second-to-last chapter written by
Muhammad.
Sura 9:5 commands Muslims to “fight the Pagans where ever ye find

According to some scholars of Islam, verses 9:5 and 5:33 all by
themselves supersede an cancel at least 124 earlier verses in which
Muhammad preached patience and tolerance.

the "end times" for over two thousand years so far. They think the one
and only hope is for Jesus to return and straighten everything out.
And a big part of the plan is the destroy the world. They think wars
and everything being blown up is a great thing because it means Jesus

Christians are great for telling what some of the problems are, such
as homosexual perversion, feminism etc. But to actually solve these
problems one should look elsewhere. Who do Christians hate the most,
first Hitler and then the Muslims. These are the two who actually
solved the problems that Christians are famous for speaking against.
Maybe the Muslims go a little overboard but they are the opposite of
liberalism. There is no way that "Brokeback Mountain" would be shown
in a Muslim country.

Then they thought of the annual festival of the LORD held in Shiloh,
between Lebonah and Bethel, along the east side of the road that goes
from Bethel to Shechem. They told the men of Benjamin who still
needed wives, "Go and hide in the vineyards. When the women of Shiloh
come out for their dances, rush out from the vineyards, and each of
you can take one of them home to be your wife! And when their fathers
and brothers come to us in protest, we will tell them, 'Please be
understanding. Let them have your daughters, for we didn't find
enough wives for them when we destroyed Jabesh-gilead. And you are not
guilty of breaking the vow since you did not give your daughters in
marriage to them.'" So the men of Benjamin did as they were told.
They kidnapped the women who took part in the celebration and carried
them off to the land of their own inheritance. Then they rebuilt
their towns and lived in them. So the assembly of Israel departed by
tribes and families, and they returned to their own homes.
Obviously these women were repeatedly raped. These sick bastards
killed and raped an entire town and then wanted more virgins, so they
hid beside the road to kidnap and rape some more. How can anyone see
this as anything but evil?
2) Murder, rape and pillage of the Midianites (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)
They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they
killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings - Evi, Rekem, Zur,
Hur, and Reba - died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of
Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite
women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their
wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the

to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the
LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But

This has got to be one of the sickest quotes of the Bible. God
himself brings the completely innocent rape victims to the rapist.
What kind of pathetic loser would do something so evil? And then he
kills a child!

Today let's talk about some of the things that have changed in America
since September 11. I'm not thinking about all of the new rigamarole
at airports. I'm more interested in the changes in the Politically
Correct party line laid down for the lemmings by the media. I'm
interested in changes in the way Americans view the world. And I'm
interested in the changed prospects for the future of America.
The most interesting thing about the new party line is its stupidity.
The Jews were caught by surprise last month, and they had to whip up
something in a hurry in order to deflect blame from Israel and from
the U.S. government's support for Israel. Apparently the best they
could do on a moment's notice is the explanation that Osama bin Laden
attacked us simply because he hates our freedom and democracy. Since
they first cooked up that explanation they've refined it quite a bit.
Both the Foreign Ministry in Israel and the American Israel Public
Affairs Committee, Israel's enormously powerful lobby in Washington,
have been circulating "talking papers" to their own people, to
politicians, and to everyone else who is likely to be making a public
statement about America's new war or about Washington's past policy in
the Middle East.
These "talking papers" tell people how to counter what the Jews call
Osama bin Laden's "lies" and also how to respond to anyone who
suggests that our government's support of Israel might have had
something to do with the September 11 attack. The papers warn people
never to raise this subject, but if someone else insists on talking
about it, it is to be countered with the explanation that support for
Israel had nothing at all to do with the attack, that we would have
been attacked even if we weren't supporting Israel, and that the only
reason for the attack is Osama bin Laden's irrational hatred of
America's freedom and democracy.
I believe that it's clear that many people actually believe this
nonsense, judging by the number of cars with red, white, and blue
ribbons tied to their antennas. But these are the people who believe
everything Tom Brokaw or their beloved Big Brother in the White House
tells them. If George Bush came on TV and told them with that
mock-solemn expression of his that a Martian invasion force had just
landed, that the Martians were demanding one million sacrificial
virgins as their price for not destroying Hollywood and Washington,
and that U.S. Army troops would be going door to door to collect
virgins, the folks with the ribbons on their antennas would believe
it, and they would prepare to hand over any virgins in their
households. They would consider it their patriotic duty. The party
line may change from time to time, but lemmings never change.
Well, the lemmings may believe that U.S. support for Israel had
nothing to do with the September 11 attack or with the anthrax-laden
letters now going around, but no one else believes it. Last week the
media bosses were kicking themselves because they had let the text of
a statement Osama bin Laden had made be published in the United
States. They said that they had made a mistake in putting this
statement before the American public. They wouldn't publish any
further Osama bin Laden statements, they said, because the statements
might contain secret instructions for his operatives.
Everyone I've spoken with laughed at that excuse. In his last
statement Osama bin Laden said that Americans would not be secure and
would have no peace of mind as long as Palestinians were not secure in
their own land. That's the sort of powerful and simple message that
even Sally Soccer Mom and Joe Sixpack might understand, and that's
what the Jewish media bosses don't want the public to hear. They're
not worried about secret instructions; they're worried about the
lemmings figuring out what's going on.
Actually, I think there's very little danger of that. And really, the
changes I'm more interested in are in the outlook of the minority of
the population able to think for itself: the minority that doesn't
believe whatever Tom Brokaw says. You know, I've been talking to this
minority for years-decades, actually-warning them about the
consequences of letting their government get out of control, warning
them of the consequences of permitting the Jews of Hollywood and New
York to run our country through their control of our mass media,
warning them of the consequences of continuing to sit on their hands
and keep their mouths shut from fear of being denounced by the media
as "anti-Semites" or "racists."
And I wasn't having as much success as I wanted at getting them to pay
attention and change their ways. Many of those who listened wouldn't
do anything because what I was warning them about didn't seem quite
real. Despite all the changes they could see around them-the
deterioration of our cities and our schools, the darkening of the
racial complexion of America, the trashing of our culture by the mass
media, the increasingly obvious efforts of the Jewish media bosses to
persuade our young women that they should bed down with
non-Whites-despite everything, they themselves managed to remain
comfortable and economically secure, so the things I was warning them
about didn't seem quite real. They had convinced themselves that they
were above it all, that they could continue to watch the destruction
of their country and their people all around them, and it would never
affect them personally: that they could remain secure and comfortable
while everything around them went to hell.
Osama bin Laden jolted some of them awake on September 11: some of
those whose attention I hadn't been able to catch with my own
warnings. He convinced some of them that what they had been observing
going on around them for years was in fact real: that continuing to
ignore the degenerative processes promoted by the media and the
government and hoping for the best really wasn't a good strategy for
personal survival. In particular, he convinced many members of the
thinking minority that losing control of our government really is a
serious matter, that permitting our government to be used by the Jews
against their neighbors in the Middle East- and also against the
genuine interests of the American people- could have real consequences
at home.
I have the feeling that many of these thinking people are paying at
least a little more attention now to the things we've been talking
about here every week. The fact that the number of people who download
these broadcasts from my Web site each Saturday has nearly doubled
since September 11 is a pretty good indication of this, I believe.
Just as I'm getting more hate mail from the red-white-and-blue-ribbon
types, I'm also getting more thoughtful responses from the people who
understand and care. Which is to say, I think I have an audience now
that not only is bigger but also is more attentive and responsive.
That is really important.
I'm not discouraged by the fact that the attentive and responsive
people still constitute only a minority of a minority. I'm encouraged
by the fact that the attentive people now make up a larger minority of
the thinking portion of the population than they did before September
11. Important things always are done by minorities. Majorities don't
make decisions; individuals do; small minorities do. History is made
by active minorities. Sometimes an active minority may use the passive
majority as a tool or a weapon, but the minority always acts in accord
with its own will.
What's important is which minority is making the decisions, which
minority is active at any particular moment. For at least the past 60
years it's been the wrong minority, an alien minority that is
implacably hostile to our people. If we are to survive, that must
change. Our minority must become active instead. Our minority must
grow to include more of the thinking portion of our population. And
that is happening now. That's been happening since September 11.
The people who understand and care have been forced to begin paying
attention. I have a very strong premonition that there will be other
things in the reasonably near future that will make them pay even
closer attention.
The Bush government, just like the Clinton government before it,
thinks that it can stop terrorism with cruise missiles and smart
bombs. But just think for a moment: whether Osama bin Laden survives
the Bush government's current war against Israel's enemies in the
Middle East or not, he already has become immortal. In the eyes of
Muslims he has been elevated to a status in heaven alongside Mohammed.
His name will be praised, and stories will be told about him around
campfires throughout the Muslim world for countless generations to
come, long after the Bush government has gone and been forgotten.
Cruise missiles can't take Osama bin Laden's immortality away from
him. There's nothing the Bush government can do to diminish his glory
in the Muslim world. In fact, the more cruise missiles and smart bombs
the United States unleashes on the Muslim world, the higher will Osama
bin Laden's esteem rise; the more will his strike against the United
States seem justified to his fellow Muslims.
Don't be fooled by the tame "house Muslims" the media bosses have been
trotting out to explain to the lemmings that violence is abhorrent to
"real Muslims." The real Muslims are the ones rioting against the
government in Pakistan now. The real Muslims are the ones singing
Osama bin Laden's praises now. And there will be no shortage of other
young Muslims lusting for a share in his glory, lusting to have their
praises sung around campfires too. Cruise missiles don't frighten
them. There are enough of them already in this country to keep things
jumping, thanks to the government's insane immigration policy of
recent decades.
At the University of California in Los Angeles a library worker,
53-year-old Jonnie Hargis, has been suspended without pay because he
sent out an e-mail letter criticizing U.S. support for Israel's
aggression. The university administration explained that it has a
policy against using university computers for political messages, but
Hargis, who has worked at the UCLA library for 22 years, pointed out
that no one who has been sending out pro-Israel and pro-war messages
has been punished.
There are similar situations at other universities around the country.
Jews and neo-conservatives post belligerent, bloodthirsty messages
calling for the annihilation of all of the Jews' enemies in the Middle
East, including Iraq and Iran as well as Afghanistan. Anyone who calls
instead for eliminating the cause of the September 11 attack- that is,
for stopping the blind support by the U.S. government of Israel's
aggression- is censured and threatened with expulsion or with being
fired.
There are still people around who can remember how it was at our
universities during the Vietnam war. That was when treason ruled on
campuses. Students burned their draft cards and put up Viet Cong flags
and posters of Ho Chi Minh in their dormitories. Jewish activists in
groups such as Students for a Democratic Society organized pro-Viet
Cong rallies on campuses. Professors encouraged this activity, and
administrators didn't interfere, citing free speech.
The switch to red, white, and blue ribbons and saluting the flag came
rather suddenly last month, and a lot of thinking people understand
why it came. They understand that it is when America is involved in a
war to promote Jewish interests that pledging allegiance to the flag
suddenly is declared fashionable. When Israel's welfare is threatened,
Jews, ordinarily noted for their cynicism and irreverence, suddenly
put their hands over their hearts and begin singing The Star-Spangled
Banner, and they glare at anyone who isn't singing loudly enough. And
people who make the mistake of asking why get fired or suspended. But
you know, firing people or suspending people who have dissenting
opinions doesn't go down well with the independent thinkers. And I'll
guarantee you:
there will be a lot more dissent before this war is over. And the
Jewish media won't be able to hide it all.
What we are beginning to see now is a sharpening division between the
Jews, their bought politicians, and the "I pledge allegiance,"
authoritarian types on one side, and everyone else on the other side.
We also saw a division, along different lines, during the Vietnam war,
with the authoritarians and the Jews on opposite sides instead of the
same side. I believe that the division this time will develop faster
and become sharper.
I don't know how the war itself will develop. It was clear before it
began that the U.S. military machine is quite capable of flattening
Afghanistan or any other Third World country without suffering any
significant losses to its own personnel, simply because we can hit
them from a distance with a great deal of destructive power, and they
don't have the means to hit back-except through what we call
"terrorism." It is certain that there will be more terrorism,
although, of course, I cannot predict the form it will take or its
magnitude.
I can predict, however, that the media and the politicians will
denounce it as "cowardly" and will act as if America has been wronged:
that whatever form the next blow against America takes and wherever it
comes from, it will be declared "unprovoked." And I can predict that
the polls published by the media will continue to show nearly every
American wildly enthusiastic about the war, even as the opposition to
the war grows.
One interesting thing about the opposition this time is that it is
growing both among the Gentile Left and among genuine patriots. During
the Vietnam war the members of the Gentile Left all were on the Jewish
side. Despite the current agreement between leftists and patriots on
the single issue of ending support for Israel and limiting the war in
the Middle East, I don't see much chance of real collaboration between
these two elements.
The Gentile Left is still hopelessly confused on such essential
issues as race and feminism and homosexuality and permissiveness. But
the war is indeed driving a wedge between Jews and Gentile leftists-a
deeper wedge than that driven by the development of Jewish
neo-conservatism after the Vietnam war, and for that we should be
thankful.
There may be other hopeful developments as well. The assassination in
Jerusalem this week of one of Israel's most bloodthirsty Jewish
militants by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
certainly was a welcome move. Until now all of the assassins have been
Jews, and all of the victims have been Palestinians. It's too soon to
know whether or not this one act of retribution against the Israeli
leadership will be followed by other successful blows, but it may be
that the events of recent weeks have emboldened the Palestinians to
act with more imagination and enterprise than before.
Looking ahead a bit, there are several signs of hope here on our own
home front. The heightened sense of reality among non-lemmings, the
lessening of their sense of detachment, the stronger realization that
they cannot survive by continuing to sit on their hands and watch the
Jews destroy the world around them- this is the single most important
consequence of recent events. This, together with the growing
alienation between Gentile leftists and Jews, leaves the Jews in a
weaker position than they have been in a long time. They will crack
their whips more frantically than before, trying to keep everyone in
line, but the principal effect of that will be to generate even more
resentment against them.
Things are a bit brittle now. A few dozen more anthrax cases, another
truck bomb in a well chosen location, and substantial changes could
take place in a hurry: a stock market panic, martial law measures by
the Bush government, and a sharpening of the debate as to how we got
ourselves get into this mess in the first place. As the debate
sharpens, the Jews and their collaborators will pull out all of the
stops in an effort to stifle it, but I don't think that even a
declaration of martial law can stifle it now. Too many people already
smell the stink in Washington. Too many people already understand on
whose hands is the blood of 6,000 innocent Americans who died last
month. Too many people understand the true motivation behind the
current war against Israel's enemies in the Middle East. The genie is
out of the bottle now, and not even Mr. Bush's new anti-terrorism
agency-what does he call it? -- the Office of Homeland Security? --
not even this new Federal agency can put it back in the bottle.
It's a strange thing: in a novel I wrote more than 12 years ago - the
title is Hunter-I talked about the formation of a new anti-terrorism
agency, separate from the FBI. And I pointed out that the principal
aim of the new agency would not be to protect the public from
terrorism, but to protect the government from an increasingly restless
and disillusioned public: a sort of modern Praetorian Guard. I think
that we'll be seeing more developments in that direction in the next
few months, with the timing depending upon when the next surprise
comes and its magnitude.
Of course, I don't know what will happen next to shatter already
jangled nerves, but it is likely that something will happen. My advice
to responsible patriots now is this: Expect a surprise, and remain
calm when it comes. But don't wait for it to come to raise your voice.
Speak out now. Don't be intimidated by the mindless yahoos waving
their flags or by the government or by the media. If you point out
calmly and in a reasoned way who is responsible for what happened to
America last month you will have more people agreeing with you than
you might imagine. If you call for your fellow Americans to join you
in regaining control of their government, the response will be greater
than at any time in recent years.
